I'm a basshead and I'm new to the iem territory. I've heard kz castor is a good bassy iem. I dont know other iem models that are cheap and good. But if I were to take OnePlus Nord buds 2 and kz castor, how good would it be when it comes to bass in comparison to these both? I would've made a better comparison if I knew other models, but Nord buds 2 would be the bassiest thing I've heard under 4k INR. Let me know your thoughts 🙏🏻
While we haven't tried the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 yet, the KZ Castor packs a punch, especially in the bass department. It's known for delivering solid bass performance at an affordable price point. So, if you're a bass head diving into the world of IEMs, the Castor could be a great pick for you. 🎵🎧
I think without using proper Dac's and high bit rate audio files , what's the use of buying an iem?(I mean general smartphone user who uses low rate streaming services.) Can we notice any difference in sound quality between an iem vs normal inear phones while using spotify free service?
You don't need dac or lossless audio to enjoy the sound from IEMs. They just sound better in general compared to cheap earbuds. Don't believe in the misconceptions that you need a dongle DAC with your IEM for better sound quality. All they do is remove any distortion or buzzing sound an IEM might have and also make them louder than if you would plug them directly in your headphone jack. Lossless audio does sound better than mp3 but the difference isn't night and day by any means. A free Spotify service paired with a budget IEM will provide a fairly nice music listening experience. Hope this helped
Yes absolutely. A good IEM should sound a lot better than fugly sounding earbuds that most people use, even without a DAC, and on lossy streaming services.

It sounds like you're looking for a USB-C adapter that includes a DAC and supports fast charging. While such adapters do exist, we do not recommend them.
Yes, you can use IEMs for music production, but for optimal results, we recommend using professional headphones specifically designed for studio use. While IEMs can offer decent sound quality and isolation, professional headphones typically provide a more accurate and detailed sound reproduction, essential for critical listening and precise audio editing tasks in music production.
Hi, I have Sennheiser HD 599 which I love. I'm looking for wireless equivalent of the same. I want the same sound signature. Can you please suggest anything?
If you're looking for a wireless option with a sound signature similar to the Sennheiser HD 599, you might want to consider the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless. These headphones are known for their Sennheiser's signature sound and offer a wireless listening experience. However, keep in mind that no wireless headphones can perfectly replicate the exact sound of a wired open-back headphone like the HD 599, but the Momentum 3 Wireless comes close.
If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, the Kiwi Ears - Melody is a fantastic choice. It delivers excellent planar sound without breaking the bank. Now, if budget is not a constraint and you're ready to indulge in premium audio, the Letshouer - S12 Pro takes the stage with its stellar planar performance. It's all about finding the right balance for your preference and pocket. If you have more questions or need further guidance, feel free to ask. Keep the music playing! 🎧🌟
As a beginner you can go for the Headphone Zone X Fiio JD1 in case you prefer a V shaped sound signature and if you prefer a balanced sound signature with a bit of bass, then the Moondrop Chu II DSP would be an ideal pick for you.
You can plug in an IEM and listen to an Audio Sweep starting from the lowest frequency moving towards the highest and that'll help you determine what frequencies are audible to you.
get a professional hearing test done, and please don't do what HZ person here said. If you're not careful you can damage your hearing trying to listen to the audio sweep you may turn up the volume, and that's not a good idea.
1. Only some songs are truly lossless, i know this because apple music doesn't support DAC bitrate switching on Android, and whenever a lossless song does come up, I have to manually switch the bitrate on the DAC. This is a known issue with apple music on android (but doesn't happen on an iphone) 2. Bluetooth headsets & smartphones prioritise connection stability over quality, they never work on the advertised bitrate until conditions are ideal. 3. In your setup, all the premium high tier streaming apps will tend to sound the same. I would suggest subscribing to the one having a good collection or a UI you prefer.

Hi! I’m not an audiophile and just listen to music as much an avg person does. So, Is it worth switching to an IEM from my regular earphones to listen to music on my phone?
If you prefer a balanced sound signature, you should check out the 7Hz Salnotes Zero and in case you prefer a balanced sound signature with a bit of bass you should go for the Moondrop Chu 2 DSP which is a little over 2K. Both of these IEMs come with a Type C termination.
My issue is when playing games I use my mic and I can't hear myself when using IEMs. I currently use the apple earphones that you have listed on the thumbnail. I can't for the life of me find something similar with superb sound quality. I don't mind spending hundreds on a new earphone that I like. But I seriously can't find an IEM that allows me to hear myself when talking without software. Which makes sense cause IEMs are suppose to block out noise...Perhaps you know of an earphone that might work for me? Really hoping

If the cost of IEM is almost at par with in ear headphones then why has it not become a mainstream product given that it has more quality sound output?
Hey there, In-ear monitors (IEMs) have quietly gained a devoted following among audiophiles and music professionals due to their exceptional sound quality and precision. IEMs are steadily gaining recognition as more people appreciate their superior audio performance, and their popularity continues to grow alongside advancements in technology. So, while they may not be the go-to choice for everyone just yet, IEMs are undeniably a standout option for those who crave top-tier sound quality. Keep the music playing! 🌟🎧👍
1). They've only gotten affordable in the last 2-3 years. 2). Most people just aren't aware of them. 3). Most people don't care about audio quality, and will buy the most popular garbage that the youtubers who also know nothing about audio tout as "good audio quality". 4). People aren't familiar with ear hook design of most IEMs and avoid it. 5). And no, wired earphones are cheaper than IEMs, you can get wired earphones from even 50 to 500 INR. So most people looking for wired earphones have cheaper options.
Do you think I should be using an IEM as a replacement for my normal earphones? I like listening to about 1/2-1hour everyday. Maybe sometimes while I'm studying or if I'm in public. I am not any musician but I want that "real feel" of the audio i listen to. Advice plz
The snug fit of IEMs ensure minimal sound leakage which eventually enhances your music experience. As a beginner, we think you should really try Tangzu Wan'er S.G.
Thank you, Raghav. Precise n concise ! 1. Please tell me if IEM is what I should use if I want to watch movies on my laptop/mobile phone. With Rs 400 earphones, I am not able to hear some background sounds: I hear these additional background sounds behjnd dialogues, when I push earphones harder into ear canal. I wish to enjoy all sound components. Is listening all sounds for enjoyment and monitoring them for studying the same thing ?
I have always had the doudt where a regular listener like me who basically uses earphones for music,UA-cam,Study videos .would be benefitted by this? It would be helpful if anyone has any insights regarding this thing? Should I go for it or not?
So basically IEMs or In Ear Monitors actually go in your ear canal and create a seal (since every person's ears are different, that usually involves testing out different sized/types of ear-tips to get a proper seal). This seal avoids sound leakage and creates an amazing listening experience.
I recommend Etymotics er2se. Not a monitor technically and only a single driver but the experience is quite good. Er3xr for a really good bass. But there is a very steep learning curve to use them correctly…
Made my first purchase from you guys by ordering CCA - CXS. I want to learn mixing and mastering as a hobby but studio headphones are too expensive and I am hoping to get a better sound quality than on budget studio headphones of the same (2000 INR approx.) price range.
Same Issue. Does your IEM provide better....like really better Mic quality? Actually i am looking for better Music quality with Better mic for podcasting and voice overs.
@@kalp7568 I don't think the mic is good for professional use. I actually use it with a behringer umc 22 audio interface and xm8500 microphone and the iem as a monitoring headphone.
The differences between a high-quality In-Ear Earphone (IEM) and an IEM with the same driver configuration can vary. Factors such as the materials used for the driver, the tuning of the IEM/Earphone, and the components supporting the drivers can all contribute to differences in sound quality, clarity, and overall performance. It's not just about the number of drivers but also how they are implemented and optimized within the design of the IEM or Earphone.

(* I have apple pro earbuds too but they are too flat in front of gemini*) . PLEASE REPLY 😊
It's great to see your enthusiasm for high-quality audio! 🎶👂 When comparing the Focal - Bathys and the Mark Levinson No 5909 to the Final - A8000, there are some key differences. The Focal Bathys is a superb wireless headphone, known for its exceptional sound quality and convenience. It's an excellent choice if you prefer a wireless setup and desire top-notch audio. On the other hand, the Final - A8000 is an in-ear monitor (IEM), which means it's designed for wired listening. The A8000 is highly regarded in the audiophile community for its clarity and detail, making it an excellent choice for those who prioritize wired sound quality. If you're keen on exploring the world of wired audio, the A8000 could be a fantastic choice, especially for the music you listen. However, if you prefer the convenience of wireless, the Bathys won't disappoint. Ultimately, the choice between the Bathys and the A8000 comes down to your listening preferences and whether you prioritise wireless or wired audio. Both are exceptional in their own right, so you can't go wrong with either. Happy listening! 🎧👍😊

But I recently come to know about IEM and was thinking about purchasing KZ EDX Pro as a beginner just for listening music. So i have my doubts about the audio output on KZ, does this one sounds better than enco air 2 pro or should i stick with what i had already
Hi there! It's great to hear that you're enjoying the sound quality of your Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro TWS earbuds, particularly for movies with DD 5.1 audio and Indian music. As for your consideration of purchasing the KZ EDX Pro IEMs for music listening, it's important to note that sound preferences can vary from person to person. The KZ EDX Pro is known for its excellent audio performance and value for money. It offers a different listening experience compared to TWS earbuds like the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro. IEMs generally provide a more immersive and detailed sound, especially when paired with a good audio source. If you're looking for a dedicated music-listening experience and want to explore the qualities of IEMs, the KZ EDX Pro can be a solid option. However, it's worth considering that personal preferences play a significant role in audio enjoyment. Ultimately, the choice between sticking with your Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro or trying the KZ EDX Pro depends on your preference and desired listening experience.

Hi, I have been using nothing ear 1 as my primary earphones, but wanted to go back to wired earphones for some reasons. 1. I liked IEMs, but I am not sure if those are for casual music listeners or for professional music artists. 2. My phone (Samsung galaxy S23) doesn't have 3.5mm jack port, so that also limits my options with IEMs. But I really would like to get an IEM. Can someone help?
I really need help figuring out a good earphone/IEM for listening to music and gaming! I just can't understand any of these terms and how they compare to my current cheap earphones. I just want something that will let me listen to my music without it sounding all muffled like walmart earphones and that lets me play videogames without any confusion of audio cues. My budget is $25 and under and I cant decide honestly.
Blon BL05 is a solid option for that price and sounds pretty good in games and music, but my favourite thing is the comfort, I can wear them for hours. However, I don't use the stock eartips.
Hey there, absolutely, navigating the world of audio can be overwhelming. When looking for earphones in your budget, consider terms like "balanced sound," "clear audio," and "noise isolation" for better music quality. For gaming, prioritise "accurate audio cues" and "good spatial awareness." If you're looking for a budget-friendly option that's great for both music and gaming, we recommend checking out the Truthear Hola. It offers clear sound and good spatial awareness, fitting your criteria well. Happy listening and gaming! 🎧🎮
a question has been on my mind about this, if iems and earphones can vary in prices, earphones sometimes even cost so much more, why are only iem companies able to provide a way better sound quality and tune compared to the other brands that just makes earphones, like whats stopping them from making good sounding earphones too? why only iems can achieve such good sound for a way better price
The distinction often lies in the design philosophy and target audience of each type of audio device. In-ear monitors (IEMs) typically offer better sound quality due to their sealed design and focus on audiophile-grade tuning, using premium materials and advanced drivers. Conversely, earphone manufacturers may prioritize factors like aesthetics and comfort over pure sound quality, catering to a broader consumer market. Each brand chooses its emphasis based on consumer preferences and market positioning, resulting in varying sound quality between IEMs and earphones. Ultimately, it's a matter of choice and focus for each brand. While some brands excel in crafting high-fidelity IEMs, others may prioritize different aspects in their earphone designs.
Just a fun fact, One more advantage of IEMs when performing live music is that every band member can have individual mixes.
Thank you for the history lesson, really enjoyed the reasoning behind it.

Are there 2 in 1 usb c adapter with DAC in it? A good quality one which support fast charging.
It sounds like you're looking for a USB-C adapter that includes a DAC and supports fast charging. While such adapters do exist, we do not recommend them.
Can we use this IEMs for music production?

What a great explanation! Thank you for clearing it up!

Thank you for the wonderful video! Any suggestion on measuring MY EAR'S CAPACITY TO LISTEN to the frequency range spectrum?
You can plug in an IEM and listen to an Audio Sweep starting from the lowest frequency moving towards the highest and that'll help you determine what frequencies are audible to you.
get a professional hearing test done, and please don't do what HZ person here said. If you're not careful you can damage your hearing trying to listen to the audio sweep you may turn up the volume, and that's not a good idea.
is it worth to take ( Galaxy buds 2pro with apple music lossless ) , bcz buds 2pro support 24bit Audio///
It really depends on your source, phone or the device you play music from.
@@headphone_zone I'm with samsung eco system.. using samsung s23 ulta..
1. Only some songs are truly lossless, i know this because apple music doesn't support DAC bitrate switching on Android, and whenever a lossless song does come up, I have to manually switch the bitrate on the DAC. This is a known issue with apple music on android (but doesn't happen on an iphone)
I have tired so many IEMs from multiple brands, but all them have shrill highs causing tinnitus in my ear no matter how careful I'm about the volume.

Any specific IEMs that you're referring to?
Are IEMs a good choice for gaming if I don't like over the ear headsets?
Yes, you can use IEMs for gaming.

What's the difference between a high quality In ear Earphone and an IEM with same driver configuration?...For eg Single DD

Ultimately, the choice between sticking with your Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro or trying the KZ EDX Pro depends on your preference and desired listening experience.

a question has been on my mind about this, if iems and earphones can vary in prices, earphones sometimes even cost so much more, why are only iem companies able to provide a way better sound quality and tune compared to the other brands that just makes earphones, like whats stopping them from making good sounding earphones too? why only iems can achieve such good sound for a way better price
