TPWD stocks trout in ponds and rivers throughout Texas every fall/winter. I’ve tried various powerbaits and found 2 power eggs in contrasting colors on a size 8 or 6 bait hook work very well for me. Paired with 4 pound test line, it’s a game changer.
Love it! contrasting colors are really good!
These Power eggs in the mag size work really great on winter rainbow trout here in PA. I have most all the colors and both regular and garlic, my buddy and I have limited out every time. Just 1 egg 6 0r 8 salmon egg hook under a steel head slip float works like a charm flor yellow and pink and orange has been hot, also sunrise. I don't even mess with the paste or dough. Keep the vids coming hey how about a steel head vid on Berkeley steel head worms 4 inches.
Sounds like a steelhead challenge!
ive caught alot of bluegill on powerbait eggs, and i caught my first bass on them. pink color has worked great for me
I came from Kayseri with love and greetings and I will wait for you.
Greetings and thanks for the support on the channel!

Thankyou I never used power eggs I got some today so I’m going to try them tomorrow
Love to hear that!
very informative , subscribed
Thank you Albert, much appreciated!
I just clubbed a 2.3 lb rainbow in a #1 hook and 4 pink power eggs.. I never want to touch dough again.
Nice! Pink is one of my favorites! I love eggs, but don't give up on dough!
I've never had any luck with the power eggs but I'll give them another shot.
Rip'n Lips from Amarillo Texas!
I think you will catch more trout after incorporating the eggs! I am working on a plan to fish Texas at some point. Can't wait!
@@WillyFish I'm going fishing again tomorrow so I'll definitely have to give them another shot tomorrow. I'll let you know if they work! And I'll give them a good honest chance, I'm not too proud to change up my fishing habits, I'll try all the advice I get!

@@RVsbladesnthangs Best of luck out fishing tomorrow!
@@WillyFish thank you my man... gonna try to get my Dad to come out and join me. He's like me and prefers to be in the boat but it's trout season around here so we need to take advantage of that while we can!
@@RVsbladesnthangs Yes sir! I can't wait to hit the water with my dad this year. I will most likely need to put a few bets on which one of us will catch more trout!
Hello, hook up ratio will increase with a power egg chartreuse works best than a orange trout nibblet on a jig.The egg further up on the hook than the nibblet covering the tip of the hook, rainbows can't resist this presentation.Top water with a bobber with a leader 20 inches below water column.

Thank you - appreciate the kind words!
I say this about all his videos. They are really good at helping beginners like me. I’ve mentioned his channel a couple times on random Reddit post on r/fishingforbeginers . I just find they are loaded with tons of information especially for beginners.
@@rhettquinn7788 Thank you Rhett - appreciate the kind words!
I've been killing with one red egg. Have not tried two yet. If two work, will try mixed colors. My guess color selection would be same as you use for spinners.
Red is always a good color Shaynell! Mix up the colors when using two. It will pay dividends!
i’ve been killin wit Chartreuse
Right on Michael!
95% I catch on Chartruese.. no matter, day, time, season, weather..., anything..
What hook do you recommend
Size 12 baitholder hook
I'm 78 years old with shaky hands and not the best eyesight...so using a #12 would take me all day to tie to my leader...I have been using a #8 which only takes me half a day...LOL@@WillyFish
What size hook would you recommend and what type
Size 10 or 12 baitholder from Gamakatsu work best!
Use 2 eggs on size 10 hook run one egg up on the line thanput second egg on and pull first one down
What size hook do you use for power eggs
I use a size 10 baitholder silver hook from Gamakatsu. Small hook, strong, keeps eggs and powerbait dough on the hook, and you will get more hookups with the baitholder hooks with the additional barbs.
Have you tried red color hooks? Heard they increase bites
Gold hooks work best
Eggs are way more convenient, super easy to clean off.
Just used power eggs for the first time after using the dough for years. I'm here to tell you that they really work. Had the best day out in a very long time...
Hello my friend. I wonder if you can write the usage of the products according to the colors throughout the day. Which color should be used in what weather and daylight. I get yield until daylight with white silicone ball (silvery) garlic. I need information like this. There is a pink (silvery) ball, I do not know when to use it, I try to catch it with my trial side. Some scientific knowledge is required :)
You got it! I will be doing more trout fishing with power eggs this year, and hopefully share additional insights and tips, especially on what time of day to fish what colors. Stay tuned...
I find they don't want the eggs only the power bait nuggets.?
I have had more success on the eggs than the nuggets here in the PNW. But that's not to say on some bodies of water the nuggets works better!
I have gutted trout with theSE eggs in there belly's so they eat them. But don't seem to take them on hook.:) yeah your spot on all waters fish different.CHeers Mate.:)
When trout fishing when it comes to Berkley products I only use power eggs because I have a genuine hatred for treble hooks because it's been proven that they gut hook fish 50% of the time. That's why I only use circle hooks which only gut hook fish 1% of the time due to the how they are designed to work mechanically.
The downside is circle hooks don't work well with dough bait but it's a trade-off considering I refuse to use treble hooks. I honestly wish treble hooks were never invented they're just terrible for fish and even more terrible for fish conservation.
