I used to work for ABB, which made these robots. It is indeed a fulfilling experience to make them with precision and effort. Expert software and drive control are involved.

This is the peak of human civilization right here. Crazy to watch something where each tiny action and every component probably had 1000s of hours of manpower spent by great minds to get just right.

The peak of human civilization was the mechanical watch. A 1940s say.... Hamilton Modal 23 Chronograph was the most complicated, high precision device ever made by life in this universe (so far as we know) WITHOUT a computer.
Humans are facilitators in the design of factories like this but most of the heavy lifting in the design isn't done by humans.

I am an industrial engineer and there us much more behind this than just the robots. The system had to be designed perfectly to prevent bottleneck. Imagine step 1 took 2 hours, step 2 4 hours, and step 3 30 minutes. In you only had 8 hours a day the maximum amount of cars you could output would be 2. They had to time every one of those stations perfectly to prevent production build ups and so cars can flow from station to station preventing waiting and excess motion. Very well done with much less variability than human systems.

if step 1 take 2 h and step 2 take 4 h, and we need to have 1 machine for step 1 and 2 machine for step 2, then it will not be any delay. We can add number of machines to increase the production capacity. Is my opinion correct or wrong?

A year to design, and get the parts. Six months to build and another six months to program a machine that puts multiple washers on a pipe fitting. I have been part of the wiring assembly.

Probably not worth investing so much money on machines to do it when instead they can make every other robot design it in a way to be convienent for a human to do
because people would panic if they got replaced completely, gotta trick them into thinking they are needed for a while longer.

Some of the processes you see here involve what look like flames, however it is actually plasma! This is part of a "Corona" treatment process which improves material adhesion to certain surfaces. Although it looks hot, the part leaves the process cold.

@@666DW In fact I do buy from other companies. I'm a mechanic and when I started BMW payed the best so I worked at one of their dealerships. They are truly horrible cars if you don't have the money for their maintenance. If you've got the money then excellent throw it away but otherwise run, save yourself the hassle.
