I couldn't get the routing to work until I realized that you can't have any other MIDI instrument on the MIDI track. Only midi notes and then route it to the audio track's GSnap.
does this mean gsnap is actualy better as autotuine for such a thing as far i could find out is not possible with autotune or is it! i use cakewalk by the way if it has something to do with this. if not and there is a way would be nice to tell me since i am new to cakewalk. thanks alot

download the 32 bit version that worked for me
its work, just create folder in program and files, VSTPlugins, then paste ther file that you extract in that folder, then find your plug in gsnap in your studio software like OBS, etc...

I heard myself singing, but the GSpan isn't showing or editing anything.
I noticed that you need to set the threshold very high in order for it to actually do much correction
In my Gsnap it is recognizing the midi notes but not changing the audio based on the midi notes. Anyone know a fix for this?
There's a sensitivity knob, yea? Probably not snapping like it should because of that.
So Audacity does not have Midi input... is there a workaround?
It seems like it's not working for me. I'm using Cakewalk by Bandlab. I have an audio track and a midi track with the guide vocal notes. I added GSnap in my Audio FX rack and I set Enable Midi Input. I selected Snap To Midi Input. I went to my midi track and selected GSnap as the output. On my original vocal I could see my green voice line and sometimes a red line would appear under/beside it. I still sounded out of key. So as a test I added another Audio track and I sang the same note for the entire passage. So if it's auto tuning I should see the red line jump way around it (if the red line is the Midi guide vocal). But I see the green line staying near the same note and I see no red line. Any ideas?

So, I tried to install the plugin on equalizer apo but it doesn't seem to be detecting my voice, meaning the graph doesn't appear at all. Any ideas?

GSnap was included with my Mixcraft 9 DAW, but the GSnap interface doesn't look exactly like yours, so I'm having trouble getting it to work. For one thing, it doesn't have the rotated "DETECTION", "CORRECTION" and "MIDI" headings down the middle, next to the keyboard. Plus, instead of the "Snap to selected Notes" and "Snap to MIDI input" options in the middle, mine has the options "Fixed" and "MIDI" near the top under the heading "Input Source Tracking". Is your version newer than mine even though your video is more than four years old and I just purchased Mixcraft earlier this year.
What midi instrument are you using in the midi track - does it matter? I'm struggling a bit to get the connection between the Gsnap and the midi
Just a piano - so I can heard the line. The final step is "sending" the midi to Gsnap by pointing the midi to / out to that channel.
Anyone know how to snap the midi on flstudio ?

bro it's very helpfull, but i use MixPad, and it's very strange beacuse i put the VST and all that, but when I put the VST GSnap to my voice, it dont change nothing. if anybody knows why, please let me know.
Great tutorial! The "brothers" out there made me ashamed of my race. I'm old pro putting together a new "home studio". I have "Gsnap" in my Mixcraft Pro Studio and being an old "Roger" fan ( I know he used the old talk box and also a Vocoder.) Too much stuff just for one effect. Once again, excellent/professional tutorial.

any chance you could do or have done a video on playing ableton in a live setting. like changing rhythmic styles, effects, adding and subtracting layers, blending into a new tune?
I think this could be done eventually - unfortunately I don't do a lot of live work anymore. If things pick up and I start doing live shows again - it'll definitely be a topic I cover.
Bro how the heck did you get the autotune to work on your raw mic input??? This is driving me nuts, I don't want to have to record audio into a track before being able to see what it sounds like with the autotune.
I'm probably being really stupid but does anyone know how he can hear just the wet signal when he's not recording?? When I use mine on a return I can hear both wet and dry with a ton of latency
Usually I route it to another channel and record it through re-sampling. It's done some strange things like this for me, too. Try that out and let me know if that fixes it up :)
i know this video is old but maybe you can help me. I have installed Gsnap I opened it in Ableton, Gsnap showed the green lines (it recognizes my voice) but it does nothing. But if nice tutorial.

ok i figured out i had gsnap on midi instead of audio, but another thing, can You increase range of gsnap, because it only correct in like 2,3 notes andi want whole octave

Hi! Thank you so much, when i turn snap to midi on it X's all of the notes out on the side of Gsnap and doesnt sound like a change is being made, any thoughts?
you have to put it in a specific key, for example c major. You can find this option on the gsnap plug in where it says "subtle" and there's a downward arrow next to it. Then in the plug in itself you'll find an option to chose a scale, so you'll be able to put it in any key you want afterwards.

Man, the autotune, turns your vocal into pure instrument. I'm making guitar loops, and other like piano. Don't tell that anybody who's using autotune can't sing better.. I was terrible singer, now I'm singing without autotune ...
