Just a couple of points to make: 1. I know these videos are 'how to' guides with regards to driving realistically, but on my approach towards adverse signals at East Croydon, please take it more as a 'how not to' guide! :p 2. For those interested in downloading the scenario on Steam Workshop, please note that I was unable to upload the scenario with the special Class 460 liveries in it, as Workshop would not allow it. So unfortunately, I had to revert back to the default livery for the Workshop scenario. And finally, enjoy the video! :)
Graphics sliders are all on max settings, TSX is on, and Antialiasing is sent to the 2x2 setting. Other than that, FRAPS which I use to record makes everything slightly darker than it is within the game.
this video rocks, and you made it interesting by putting more traffic, thanks. Can u please do EUROSTAR. I will really appreciate it and also UK goods express train.Again many thanks
A very nice video, Peter, and a very nice train. Unfortunately, the railway authorities in the UK have a history of introducing innovative trains but not keeping them very long as the admin costs of switching staff between them and other multiple units is too high.
I love how the lighting is slightly dark (might be youtube). gives the route a nice bit of character. talking of route guides (as you did) are you considering making a new route guide video? personally i'd like to see something like the ECMLS set in the modern day or FCC era.
It's the recording software I'm using. I used to use Bandicam which made everything artificially bright. Now I use FRAPS, which makes everything slightly dark. I sure have considered it, and am thinking of doing one on the GEML soon! :)
This is a known bug within Train Simulator. Trains move slightly when stationary, even with the brakes applied. The handbrake would make no difference.
Great video as usual :). You mention making the scenario in 6 hours which to me sounds pretty quick given the amount of AI. I just wondered what your general technique is when it comes to adding AI. Do you give trains accurate unit numbers? Do you schedule AI services to call at all stations on their real life timetables or just the ones within view of the player. If so, how do you determine exactly if a train making a stop will be around the players train? I've tried some scenario creation in the past but usually got bored before finishing them due to how long I was spending on some - maybe I was just being a bit too pedantic over such tiny details that people would likely not even notice. Thanks :).
I give the trains realistic unit numbers, in that the numbers you see are for units that actually exist. But I don't know which units are used on which services in real life. I schedule trains to start before the player reaches them, and to end in a portal after I know the player has passed them. All AI trains are following the real timetables between those points. It's a case of trial and error, and having an idea where the player train will be. :)
For Huey's Sake, Peter, shed some light on a dull scene. It may look fine on your 75" 4K 1440p monitor but it's dull as dish water for the rest of us 1080pers. You didn't even bother to turn on the Instrument lights (among many things you just didn't bother with on this so-called scenario/tutorial).
The dullness was actually due to the recording software I used at the time. I was also using a 22" 1080p monitor back then too. I've been using different software for several years since this video was made, and now have a 24" 4k monitor. The instrument lights are most definitely switched on. I might not have mentioned switching them on - either because I forgot or they defaulted to on. But they are definitely switched on, as you can see in the tunnels.
PTGRail Could you make a sort of NEC video? It would be really cool to see an Amtrak ACS or Amtrak Acela Express run between Boston (or New Haven Union) to New York Penn or Newark Penn, as I have commuted on the LIRR to NYP for a long time! I understand this might be another 40 hours of effort that you had mentioned in Edinburgh Waverley to London Kings Cross [and I greatly apprectiate that effort] so I would understand if you don't do it. :)

So where are we able to pick up the special Class 460 livery from, just think it does it justice.
PTGRail please make more TSW freight scenarios. I realy loved your CSX heavy haul video
It's on Master Key Simulation's facebook page
He can't really make freight scenarios on TSW - there isn't an editor and there are too few DLC
Harry Nim I meant more CSX heavy haul scenarios.
That's funny, I'm on vacation in Washington right now and the airline we flew in on was Delta
I always find it interesting that you can go such a high speed around those "bulging" stations like Balham, I would think those have speed limited.
About the GSMR, the presence of the GSMR radio depends on the consist. I think two out of the three Gatwicks come with GSMR radios.
Really love watching the USA route learning videos as well as the UK ones! Keep up the good work and keep those trains rolling!
Informative video and also an entertaining one as always, Peter! The 460's are brilliant trains, unfortunately aren't here today.
iAspex some of the 460 coaches were used to lengthen South West Trains class 458s into 5 car units.
The graphics looks stunning! Especially the lighting effect. what is the secret?

Good video and you got to love the 460's reallt should have kept them and the 442's
Glad you kept going with the vids. Dont give up doing what you do best👍🏾
I'm going to keep going for now! :)
Yet, another great video
A very nice video, Peter, and a very nice train. Unfortunately, the railway authorities in the UK have a history of introducing innovative trains but not keeping them very long as the admin costs of switching staff between them and other multiple units is too high.
Many thanks, Roger - and as always, it's great to hear from you! :)

A great video. Now I know how to set up the train ☺
Is that a Juniper train? I love it 😀
Good old 460s, I reckon they'd still be working well if they weren't chopped and changed into the 458/5s
Do a London Brighton service on the class 403
Very nice video
how did you get the motor sounds? because mine are gone:/ and great video aswell !
31:33 you think thats bad frame rate? The frame rate of my game limits itself to 30FPS!!! Even though I'm using the 32bit version!
If you skip between the last 5 seconds of the final shot, you can see the train move slightly. APPLY THE HANDBRAKE.

@PTGRail How do you manage to get tunnel occlusion on the Brighton Mainline route as I thought the route was created before DTG had tunnel occlusion?
There was one on DPSimulation but they've seemed to have removed it since the website update
It came from DP Simulation :)
PTGRail is it still available?
have you heard that LNER is back on the ECML taking over VTEC as they finished their contract early
I think everyone knows....
Is this a pack from master key simulations, or is it just DTG.
where can you find the repaints?
That's the train that I actually refunded on Steam
At 12:26, what button do you press so the driver safety device doesn’t stop the train?
I pressed 'E' on the keyboard.
Did you remember to open the windows in the cab?
There aren't any windows in the cab

Rip to the 460 there are out of service
Do you ever plan to do a Scottish route learning? Like The JT SECML? (Edinburgh - Dundee) I love that route but don’t have it. lol :p
Nathan that route is full of bugs
I've already made a video on that route quite some time ago! My next Scottish video will be Mallaig to Fort William :)
What's going on with the audio on this one? Sounds like you're recording your speakers
Can you explain what the problem is? To me, the audio sounds pretty normal.

Joe Transit Remember me? I am Anz.
Rezdy Tofan Of course I do!
I will happily make another video on the NEC soon! :)
best train
Transformer 460
Express for gatwick
DARTH VADER EXPRESS
Woooow dilly dilly
Any tips on route learning?
Drive, take notes, places of interest in relation to the railway, drive, drive, drive
And follow these videos. These videos are designed to do the hard work as far as route learning goes! ;)
I've done a sped up version of the route with a Class 387: ua-cam.com/video/7DqX6CTk8Jc/v-deo.html
But the 442 is coming in service
Xkingbeast 1 I heard in Wiki. And i was crying that the are back in the SWR.
Good or bad crying?
MARIO SONIC Ikr
xm3 bad
They are going to see but they are back that the good thing
A first class video as always Peter But the 460's are UGLY !!!
Thanks, Tony! As always, it's great to hear from you! Though I disagree as I quite like the look of the 460s :)
What a hideous train...
Train videos UK, how dare you call my baby hideous! :P
That is one ugly train
Declan Merrick I quite like the 460.
