- One size fits all clothing can be rough, I've done a brandy melville try on haul before, and as a size 14 there wasn't many one size options that worked on my plus size body. So trying one size fits all clothes from amazon prime, I was a little skeptical! Especially when it came to one size fits all jeans!

I think it would be a cool idea for a one size video if you have someone who’s a bit smaller than you and someone who’s a bit bigger because you’re in between standard and plus, it be cool to see how it works on someone who’s more plus and who’s more standard

Curious as to how many of these are truly supposed to be “one size fits all” (edit: or, alternatively, one size fits *most* ) versus there being just “one size” because I don’t think every item of clothing marked as “one size” is made with the intention of being labelled or marketed as “one size fits all/most.” Because there is a difference and I think that’s often overlooked.

and especially because Sierra knows (doing her merch line) that it's so much easier having less sizes production, it should be easy to understand the background of decisions to make One Size (fits... small/most/whoever) especially with any stretchy material.
Companies don't care about our insecurities (unless they can exploit them, that is), and definitely not about all people, just about enough people to buy their product...

I like these videos tho, we're often not rational, with all that societal conditioning that connects our worth with our looks, it's needed.

(because not familiar - I'm not ordering clothes online, I'm too tall, have to try things, &from country where sending back items that don't fit me is too expensive to make sense)
One item (oversized sweater) has the descriptions about fit regarding sizes :says how it'll be regular fit for large(r)
and the other, that dress where she mentions maternity - says one size 0-8! and then you can click other field for 10-12 🤷🏻
some other random item I looked up had length and bust measurements in the description...
So yeah, it's more of _read smaller font_ than _false_ advertising.
In most cases - I guess. I suspect companies don't like dealing with returns much either...

I'm not defending one size clothes as I know, despite their claims, it couldn't possibly fit every body on the spectrum. However, when it says 'one size fits all', I don't think it means it fits with the same fit and tightness or bagginess, rather it probably means that thought the fit might be different, the look is still good
To me it is more like "everybody can get into this piece of fabric, good luck with the way it looks though"... Or maybe I am too cinical 😂

I suffered from an eating disorder for most of my young adult life and have gained a lot weight over the years, sometimes I struggle with that but I always have you to remind me that I’m beautiful at any size. You’re the best and your content helps so many people ❤️

Maybe you could give your measurements in a video. Clothes sizing varies so much that it sometimes isn't helpful to tell us you're usually a 12-14, since a 12-14 is far from a defined size and often in your try ons, these sizes range from fitting you perfectly to being far too small for you. Additionally, it would give people a better idea of what size 'one size fits all' clothing actually is.

To be fair all of the items (in your size range) did fit 🤷🏽♀️ they didn’t advertise as “one size conforms to your body perfectly “ they advertise as one size FITS which they all did 🤷🏽♀️

It seems odd bc all of the plus size items you showed see you fit you perfectly. Even the biker shorts don’t seem like you need 2 sizes smaller

I think it's a matter of fit preference. I personally think the larger sizes are more flattering, but she prefers to wear things tighter.

For the jeans I could definitely see the excess fabric for plus size
Would you consider putting up your measurements? I mean, I’m 5’7” and size 14/16 usually. 38DD, 38” waist and 50” hips. I have no idea if we are close in size 🤷♀️. I would Love to know if I need to size up from you or I’m about the same.
I think Sierra is 5'4"-5-5", maybe that helps.

She's lying about her size constantly (she says clothes are a certain size but when she sells them on her posh mark they are bigger sizes).. So don't get your sense of sizing from her...

I think the blue dress is supossed to have cute pleats so when is tight like is on you it changes the design of the dress completely

As an additional "test" when you try on all these clothes it would be great to see you sit down and move around in them. Maybe you do and we just don't see it, but I find often that something that seems ok standing in front of the mirror is no longer ok when I sit because it rides up, bunches up, the back gaps open, etc. I'd like to see you report on walking around, bending over, going downstairs, and if that highlights any issues. Just a thought.
I feel like sometimes you are afraid to be considered plus size. It makes me uncomfortable how you dance around the word as if it’s toxic. Yet you want to be body positive and frequently say it’s ok to be whatever size you are. I have a feeling if for some reason you were to gain weight and become a size 18 you wouldn’t be so body positive towards yourself.

As someone her size I also say this because sometimes bigger women don’t like when I talk about being plus size as if I understand all the struggles plus size women face when the truth is, as a size 14, I don’t. Also, many plus size lines start in a size that I can’t wear because the smallest size is too big, so being ‘in between’ comes with it’s own weird consequences, where the plus size models look like you but you can’t fit the clothes and neither do you fit the standard sizing. It’s more of a way to recognize I don’t experience life the way a size 20 does so talking about the struggles of plus size women feels rude.
I agree so much!!! I am in the UK and she is definitely plus size over here. Being actually in between because of my body shape (M upper body, L-XL lower body) makes me a bit frustrated when I listen to her talking like that.
I didnt start feeling bad until i was a size 16 and now Im a size 20. My father died of obesity complications and it really scares me. I think Sierra does help but shes not obese, at least in my eyes. Shes a healthy weight, I am not and thats what bothers me. Yes self image is important to girls but health is so much more important. My docs often say im going to die young if i stay this big especially since i already have health issues. Because of this, I have off and on bulimia. Life is scary...
So what if she’s a little insecure about spilling over into plus size range? Just because she’s promoting body positivity doesn’t mean she’s not allowed to have human emotions. She’s a real person, not a perfect idea. Let her live.
One of the only UA-camrs I’ve watched that grew their channel organically solely by having good, wholesome, & creative content. No over the top antics, no clickbait, no over exaggerated personality, just loving what you do & being good at it. So happy to see your growth & success Sierra!!
size 14 is typically where plus size starts. I would consider size 12 to be midsize though
She used to be a size 12. As she said in the video, her weight tends to fluctuate so next month she could easily be back to a 12 again.
hope but a size XL is often carried in standard stores and that is also what she wears, whereas a 0x can often be too big for her which is where the “mid-size” portion comes in, with your logic a size 12 would just be standard size and 14 would just be plus size🤷🏻♀️ the thing with shopping is that sometimes a 12 fits sometimes a 14 fits sometimes a 16 fits bc everything is cut so differently
Hannah Bustos No i get it, I just feel like there’s nothing wrong with identifying as a plus size youtuber. I personally used to be a size 12, then 14, then 16 before i lost weight. and I know most standard size stores carry up to a L or 12, if that. it’s a rarity that you find a 14 or XL. but with plus sizing 14/1X is literally where almost all of them start..
hope I get what you’re saying but I am a size 14 and have rarely if ever been able to find clothes that fit at the plus size stores I’ve tried to shop at, but I can’t fit into everything at the standard stores🤷🏻♀️ nothing wrong with identifying as plus size but since I literally can’t go into a plus size store and find things that work for me it doesn’t seem like the right label and I think Sierra falls in that category as well
In Australia our plus size stores generally start at OUR size 14, (sometimes 16) which is size 10 -12 in US sizes. US14 is definitely plus sized here, even if you can occassionally find some clothes in standard size sections.

😂 even number sizing is womens and odd numbers are junior sizes
even number sizes are women's and they're cut differently, usually for a more hourglass shape
odd number sizes is juniors/teens sizing and they're cut straighter to fit a teen body. i'm 19 and still can't fit into women's clothes bc of my straight figure.
In America women sizing is even numbers, but a " juniors " sizing, which means for teenagers, is odd sizing

I feel like in every video I watch with her she makes a BIG point to say she’s a size 14. I know everybody is different but I can’t be the only one that thinks she looks closer to an 18 or a 20. I’m a size 16 and my legs and hips don’t look as large, and my stomach area doesn’t protrude as much, yet I’m apparently a larger size.
This isn’t any shame to her, I think she’s beautiful, and it’s literally just a number, it just bothers me she makes a point to say it in every video yet visually it doesn’t look realistic.

A nice word for "mid size" is "size inbetweenie". This word was created by a german youtuber "silvi carlsson" who also does this kind of videos. Thought i should add this information cause i think it's a really cute word 😊

I think she's just gaining weight REALLY quickly. I feel like she knows given the speech at the end. I don't know if it's the baby thing too but she also just looks really tired.
As she also states in this video, her sizing does vary from month to month. She was also diagnosed with pcos recently, which means she has trouble maintaining one weight due to hormonal imbalance
