I was drinking coffee when I saw your face during the replay. Almost got me spiting it all over my computer during a final. Co grats though! I want to do some radar hunts in BDSP but don't have the money to buy right now. XY will suffice. Got a Chatot on 29 chain last night. Keep up the high quality Reversal!

always just use the dpad to navigate around patches and maybe change the colour saturation to make the grass darker and easier to see hard to see patches it with detail
I actually start the shiny hunt once I reached over 20 chain, like in the 25th. I just buy tons of repels and will continue the chain after I got a shiny.

I also overlooked a regular patch when going for a shiny patch on my 41 Electrike chain... it was one tile away and didn't break my chain, the second shiny I got did break it however... It happens😄

Favorite Gender difference would probably be Heracross. It's noticeable enough to stand out but subtle enough to not be a huge change.
I had a shiny Female Hypno named pinky that looked super cool with the longer fur. Female Wobbuffet with the lipstick is funny though.

I have many favorite gender difference pokemon, I would say my most trickiest one to figure out but one of my favorites is Torchic. Not many people know that the ones with a birthmark on its back/butt area is a male and those that don't are female. But my other favorite gender difference pokemon that is shiny is Eevee.
Also this video made me laugh, Im sorry that you achieved a chain break and the shiny fail on Doduo.

I had a patch the other day that had the shiny patch but it was regular red ponyta on the 43 encounter. I think there’s a small small bug chance that it it can show up not shiny

I failed a shiny, it was the first shiny patch i ever got. It also was a full odds shiny patch, I was so excited to excited because i ran into the wrong patch, so i dont know who it was but i was on route 222 and there was a swarm of beldum
I had a drowsy swarm and I got to 17 and got the chain ended by the roaming cresselia I forgot to catch
I legit did the exact same thing Reversal did here to a Jigglypuff at chain 12 on the second try……
But I kept the chain going to 40 and got it back :)
The first difference in gender I really saw is Magikarp/Garados! The "whiskers" of the fish are different! :)
