- In this video, I am finishing the Yellow Peril bowl. I turned it into a lidded box. Had a few issues to overcome along the way. Come and see how I got on.

Absolutely love it, gorgeous piece of work.
I didn't catch what type of wood that yellow was, it is something else. Nature just makes the best materials.
Hi Jesse, thanks and thank you for the coffees. It is Mahonia, a shrub. It really was something, so illuminous.
Like it you have got me thinking outside the box 📦 🤔.
You have to sometimes. Wood is wood. You never know what's it's going to do.
I really enjoyed watching this video, so educational. Is it the SC1 chuck that Glenn rave’s about. Keep the videos coming Liza I think they are brilliant. Bill.
Thanks Bill. Glad you liked it. Yes, he calls it the little tank. More to come.
Wow that's brilliant and yes it's fun to watch you both
Thank you Ian. We do have fun making these videos. Glad you enjoy watching them.
Nice looking piece
Thank you David.
That really did turn out a braw finished piece !. Still think it's a really weird colour though, unusual but pretty. Good job done on it 👍
Thanks Jim. It was illuminous. So bright. Great to turn something different though.
An absolutely beautiful piece. Love it ❤❤❤ . Oh yes I want it. Honoured to have you offer it to me.
Just need your address John. You are very welcome. Send it by email. My address is glen.teagle@sky.com
I just started following you and so far i am impressed with your videos. I am not sure what you called that yellow wood but it looks like Hedge or osage orange thats what we call it here in the states. I use it in my cutting boards. The piece turned out really nice.
Welcome to the channel Ken. Glad you are enjoying the videos. It was a shrub. Mahonia. It moved so much. Here is a link to the first video. ua-cam.com/video/6dm_6Qp5toI/v-deo.html
That's quality
Turned out really nice. Thank you.
Thanks I will have to see if I can find it here in Canada
It's from a shrub not from a tree.
What a lovely piece of wood work what type of wood did you start with I am referring to that beautiful yellow wood. Love the way the two woods compliment each other great wood turning takes time and you have done a super job Blessings
Thanks Wade. It's Mahonia.
Stunning piece of work if it was always straightforward anyone could do it.
Thanks Christopher.
Now, I don't know, not enough experience as you guys are aware off, but watching a few videos, wouldn't doing the microwave thing help with drying out the yellow peril.? Just a thought, whether it's a good one or not I don't know. Just putting it out there as it could possibly help me in the future
Yes Jim, people put turned wet woods in microwaves to dry them. There's no way I was letting Glenn put that in my microwave Jim. It is from a shrub, not a tree. We didn't know much about Mahonia and whether it was toxic or not, if ingested. It's been shipped off now.
@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 and John's a lucky man. It's a pretty piece
@@mashmade-airth it really is.
at 1 1/2 hours in, the yellow wood in the jaws, if you left it dry in the chuck would it still warp?
Yes, it was very wet wood.
