Can confirm that THIS WORKS . I have 2 silverados One 2003 another 2005 Both trucks when ac was on blowing cold . It would out of no where switch to the heater . I would have to park the truck , turn it off . Turn it back on and it’ll go back to ac My 2003 would do it everytime I would drive it I did the same steps he did on the video and now it works
Changed the blend door actuator and it worked for a week. Never knew you had to do this because the video with umpteen million views never said anything about a relearn procedure. Thanks for saving me from throwing tools into the next county!
Nothing to it but to do it just like you said. I love how you can own a 20 year old Chevy pick up and make it run like the day you bought it if not better all by yourself and some help from UA-cam.

Very helpful! I'm trying to fix my ol mans '01 silverado 1500. The ac/cold air is only blowing out of the defroster. If i turn it to vent with temperature set to cold the air is HOT.. same with the feet the air is HOT when it should be cold.. the air is hot on every setting except the defrost setting. I know the blend door (not blend door actuator) is rotating as it should when turning manually by hand. I ordered a new blend door actuator in hopes that its my problem im just not sure if it is because I'm able to get cold air & AC to come out of the defroster. Any help is appreciated!
Would this be necessary after changing a bad blower motor? I've tried everything to get my controller to work but just stumbled across this. Next time I'm with my truck I'll try it

i followed this and i thought it worked, until the air changes from the front to the defrost, in like 5 secs from starting the motor, and then you cant get it to move from the defrost position. dam
The reset will not have anything to do with the a/c kicking in. All it does it reset the function of the blend doors. If the a/c isn’t kicking on, you have other problems.
Replaced my battery and the blend doors were all screwed up. Found this post and reset my blend door actuators. Outstanding. Six stars for you. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cool truck my dad has a 2001 GMC sierra 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.0 and it's the beast. My favorite truck and years, they were called the GMT 800.

Recharge a/c n my compressor doesn't turn on. I have to manually start it.

That's not the blend door actuator. That's the moode door actuator.

Thnx just bought a new battery and this happened
So how did you fix ? Mine is blowing out defrost and the other vents
If the reset doesn’t work, you will have to change the actuator
