    Glad everything worked out and you were able to get a 6 liter. Good luck with the rest of the project. Thanks for sharing.

    4.8s are pretty solid as well, worked on a few that were in 3500 series box trucks combined with the 4l80e

    I bring extra batteries and a backup recip saw with a pack of Diablo automotive demolition blades (cheaper blades are a false economy in salvage yard pulls because they work the operator to death). Cut the frame leaving a hinge then standing on the bumper if gravity isn't sufficient. The frame is destined for the crusher but if the donor belongs to you cut off frame rear sections are easy to make into convenient trailers to move beds and cabs about.

    Congrats !!! I was hoping you found one. You picked a good one. I would of def took the trans with it tho. Those 4L80e are hard to find in the US.

      Thanks sir, yeah I thought about taking the trans to but was having a heck of time getting the crossmember bolts out and basically ran short of time and energy lol.

    I like these junkyard vids...like the ones the sweat pants posse does over at spptv, I’m so jealous of your ls stuff, probably like when I go to pull a part and there’s a bunch of Barra’s.

    • @LowbuckLS
      @LowbuckLS  4 роки тому +1

      Yep those guys are awesome. Yeah all depends on what’s available where you live, I’ve heard of Barra’s but never seen one in person, hear they have great potential to make power though.

    • @clint.garage.6092
      @clint.garage.6092 4 роки тому

      @@LowbuckLS yeah they can be good with some cheap upgrades but they are no ls v8, the power just feels different less intense I geuss, but there is levels to it all it’s just a v8 has that sound and feel to it if that makes sense.

    6.0's always have pin issues with the trans. i have dealt with many.

    • @LowbuckLS
      @LowbuckLS  4 роки тому +4

      Got any tricks for dealing with that? Wondering if a torch and some heat would help free them up.

    Hey man, I’m a noob to motors. . I just picked up a 5.3 L from a friend for free. It was out of a supposed running Suburban. When I got home. I could only get the crank to move about a quarter turn. It still has all the spark plugs, accessories, belt, and everything on it. It sat outside under a tarp forover a year. Do you think the engine is bad now that it sat outside?

  • @ferds814

    Know it’s been 2 years. But do they charge for just the engine assembly? Or is all the attached bits charged separately?

    • @LowbuckLS
      @LowbuckLS  Рік тому +1

      They ding ya for everything attached to the engine too, power steering pump, a/c compressor, etc are all additional separate charges.

    A day later and you be doing it in 3 feet of snow lol. Um,question,the transmission in that truck you pulled the 6 liter from,wouldn't that be a 4L80E?

    • @LowbuckLS
      @LowbuckLS  4 роки тому

      Yes sir, glad I went when I did... yes the trans was a 4L80e but was a 4x4 version. I was going to take the trans too but had trouble with the cross member bolts and ran short of time. Had a hard enough time getting the engine by itself out of the yard by myself on that little cart, would have been an even bigger struggle with the transmission too. It’s probably still there if you want it.
