I was too young (or thick) to understand what the idents were for, but the LWT ident always signified the weekend and The Incredible Hulk and Chips programmes. The Central ident was for 'No. 73' on Saturdays, and the TVS was for Terrahawks on Sundays. And tv-am ident just meant another couple of hours of Roland Rat! ;)
When I hear LWT I'm expecting Weekend World with Brian Walden (because my Dad always watched it). Did LWT also do The Tomorrow People? I seem to think it did. HTV I associate with Children of the Stones, an absolute childhood classic and proudly on my shelf on DVD. Great television, far superior to the guff being made now (IMHO). And I haven't even waxed on about Space 1999, Farmhouse Kitchen, UFO, Out of Town... the list goes on.
@@stevebowry3605 woke is an insult because it means that the people creating something have prioritised immutable characteristics, like gender or skin colour, over ability and everything else. The woke assumption is that the very best talent/efforts are not required to produce ‘product’. This is incorrect because producing anything requires more skill and dedication than woke people realise.
I grew up in the Central region, and the Anglia intro will forever be associated with "and now, from Norwich, it's the quiz of the week!"

TVS made 73
The sounds of the tyne tees and htn idents were very reminiscent of the early video rental intros
I like it, nice one 👍
Every time I see the Thames logo I expect the Sweeny to start.
Or Minder.

The Tomorrow People was made by Thames by the way too; not LWT though.

I preferred ATV instead of Central.
Me too.
Better days before woke polluted television.
I absolutely agree with you! Netflix and Amazon Prime are stuffed full of woke rubbish I don’t want to watch!
Oh give it a bloody rest and go and look up the meaning of woke!
Makes me laugh when they try to use the term woke as an insult when they have no clue as to what it actually means
