My favorite:Mk VII LTD. I used to get my dad's claw hammer and chisel and try to make roman numerals in a piece of steel. It was not as easy as the logo made it look, lol!
I was listening to the sound on the Mark VII Limited logo, and wondered: "Where did I hear that before" And then it hit me: That was the same sound Williams Street used for their logo. LOL
A lot of these logos remind me of the future that I figured would come about sooner or later in my childish mind in the '80s. I always pictured buttons everywhere and lasers and all that. Especially the Genesis logo. Screen Gems never scared me. Viacom does a little, but it also brings back memories. What were the RKO guys thinking?! Too many coke parties in the '80s. Knowing the histories behind Bryanston and BИD make them that much scarier.
Yeah, some of these are pretty jarring. Powerful! Scary! Corporate Logos, Attack! You are on an alien-ship, you are being held against your will and you are being mutated, mwa-ha-ha!
I remember the first time I saw that THX logo. I had the TV volume really loud and scared the shit out of me. 5:44 WHY WOULD ANYONE PUT THAT ON A LOGO?!
OMG lmao, thanks for uploading these ! WTF's with the view askew one... little boy sitting playing with a ball, clown comes in, gets undressed, comes back out wearing glittery heels and sexy socks XD..as if clowns weren't freaky enough.
Wish they kept the old BBC logo that appeared at the end of stuff that was broadcast in the USA. Mark VII was pretty simple, but impressive. I wish they'd bring the old PBS. Screen Gems is always a good one. WGBH - always meant something *great* was about to come on.
Mark VII Limited was Jack Webb's (Dragnet) production company, and those were his own hands holding the hammer and die. He eventually sold his company to Universal.
Viacom Acquired Paramount in 1994 and Started Releasing Clueless in 1995 on VHS and LaserDisc With a DVD Version in 1999 as Well as a Blu-ray Disc Version in 2012. The Paramount Home Video Website is Shown Only on DVDs Such as Clueless and Clockstoppers.
The logos nostalgic to me: RCA Selectavision - JRAF Jingles 2004, Simitar - Baseball Bloopers VHS 2006, BBC - Wallace and Gromit A Grand Day Out VHS 2010, WGBH/BP/Renaissance Pictures/RKO TV/BND VID - UA-cam 2008, THX Broadway - Bambi 55th VHS (first time seeing THX/enduring THXphobia), Paramount - It's The Easter Beagle Charlie Brown, Walt Disney Home Video - Pooh/Singalong VHS tapes, F.H.E. - Rudolf (original) VHS, Genesis - Real Stories of the Highway Patrol 2008, UA - Black Stallion Returns CBS/FOX VHS 2004, Video Treasures - It's A Wonderful Life colorized VHS 2006
I only remember: BBC (from wallace and gromit) Disney (from most VHS videos) Paramount (From top gun) FHE (From the magic school bus I think) THX (from lots of things) WGBH but I forgot what It was from
The RCA video discs logo actually helps to calm my nerves and to relax my mind... Anyone else agree?
Same here Logan Roberts
Agreed 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉.
Totally agree. (◕ᴗ◕✿)
The RCA Select-A-Vision Videodisc soothed me.
My favorite:Mk VII LTD. I used to get my dad's claw hammer and chisel and try to make roman numerals in a piece of steel. It was not as easy as the logo made it look, lol!
And Williams street
The PBS one at 3:00 is my favorite. I actually remember that one from over 30 years ago. Classic.
My god, this brings back so many memories of watching VCR tapes in the glory days of the early 80's.
I don't even know some of these logos and I still get that nostalgic feeling.
The BBC one sent shivers down my spine. I remember that one...I feel old now.
It was on my copy of The Singing Detective.
2:11 So THAT'S where Williams Street got the sound!
When Chiller reruns old episodes of Tales from the darkside they still play that World Vision one afterward
I was listening to the sound on the Mark VII Limited logo, and wondered: "Where did I hear that before"
And then it hit me: That was the same sound Williams Street used for their logo. LOL
Suzuna Kuraki Don't forget [Adult Swim].
Pixel That's where the Williams Street logo shows... lol
I was 3 years old when this video got uploaded. The time this video was new....
I started to form nostalgia
I remember the first one from TeleTubbies. Used to love that show....
I just discovered that the music for SelectaVision's logo (the most viewed part of the video!) is Mussorgsky's Promenade. The more you know.
3:10
Cant stop watching it.
Yeah, its one of my favs
Why does it sound so familiar.
@@mana_beast_beats1114 Mussorgsky's promenade picture at an exhibition cover by isao tomita.
I used to have the THX "music" on minidisc just to have it as my alarm in the morning. These are great.
THX is fricken scary,dude!
The GoldenVision one scared the crap outta me when I was a kid...
3:09 - We used to have hundreds of titles on those old VideoDiscs!
Yeah, some of these are pretty jarring. Powerful! Scary! Corporate Logos, Attack! You are on an alien-ship, you are being held against your will and you are being mutated, mwa-ha-ha!
BND was FUCKING SCARY!
really, I screamed XD
THX for adding that logo
Pun city!
FINALLY a good quality version of Simitar!!! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!!!
6:00 my favorite one, using this for a movie in one of my classes
3:33 My favorite. Scary, in a badass way.
Always jumpes when the THX logo appeared, the sound is so high that the TV almost broke
Yeah, I used to run out of the room in order to avoid that annoying thing.
Absolutely terrifying,same with WGBH
4:26 - Old Rocky VHS! Oh the glory days of that old UA logo!
And numerous James Bond films shown on ITV.
4:26
4:16 The audience is now deaf.
4:16
4:59 sounds like a stretched Mac bootup chime.
I remember the first time I saw that THX logo. I had the TV volume really loud and scared the shit out of me.
5:44 WHY WOULD ANYONE PUT THAT ON A LOGO?!
Video Treasures...Another classic!
4:10
OH MY GOD I HAD THIS ON MY TOY STORY VHS AS A YOUNG CHILD
Had what?
+jerkthemiiverseguy jerk i think he ment the thx logo
Oh i didn't pay attention to the times so sorry about that, thatstuff
Also on ice age
if I seen BND as a kid I'd probably have a heart attack.
That Simitar logo is such a drama queen.
It's still badass
That BND Logo, it was the basis for the logo for Daimando's channel, years ago.
If you get high and watch this over and over, you'll go back in time.
Thanks for that - very useful for reference for creating / emulating retro look and feel
OMG lmao, thanks for uploading these !
WTF's with the view askew one... little boy sitting playing with a ball, clown comes in, gets undressed, comes back out wearing glittery heels and sexy socks XD..as if clowns weren't freaky enough.
@MrExctbhj The Viacom logo you were talking about is the V of Doom.
I'm not that old but I remember the paramount one and the THX one
A lot of VHS tapes from my childhood started with the VideoDiscs logo. lol
There's a lot of somewhat terrifying logos in here.
hey, it's great that you had a couple of vintage 60s-70s logos here(yeah, i'm THAT old)......especially the SFH......long live the King!!
Wish they kept the old BBC logo that appeared at the end of stuff that was broadcast in the USA. Mark VII was pretty simple, but impressive. I wish they'd bring the old PBS. Screen Gems is always a good one. WGBH - always meant something *great* was about to come on.
I want the audio for the WGBH one as a ringtone to be completely honest. It sounds so awesome! I don't find it anywhere near scary.
+Harlow Embick Same! If anything, it's nostalgic to me!
stinkydo0d Same here, whenever I saw/heard it I knew that I would soon be watching a house get remodeled or a piece of furniture being made.
That would be an amazing ringtone! I use the Viacom pinball for mine.
I still think that RKO 9 is the scariest...but the OECA logo is in a close second!
Great compilation, and pretty good quality on some of those.
love the way you presented them in alphabetical order :)
5:08 That one is legendary!
5:08
If you look closely the view askew clown is flipping you the bird.
Mark VII Limited was Jack Webb's (Dragnet) production company, and those were his own hands holding the hammer and die. He eventually sold his company to Universal.
I think it's the audio themes that make them so scary. Some of them are an "assault" on the ears. Nicely put together, by the way.
Holy god, the THX one scared me as a 5 year ole, because we had THX-certified discs and vhs.
If the ''S from Hell'' or the ''Paramount Closet Killer'' appeared in the pilots of the Filipino TV series ''Ikaw Lamang''.......
2:09 Aqua Teen Hunger Force Adult Swim Logo Sound
ВИD is a little creepy yes... but view askew... HOLY SHIT! D=
5:28
WTF is that? LMFAO!
Loved it . Classic upload.
Seeing the WBGH Boston logo late at night used to scare me as a very young kid.
What do you mean at 4:26 by "this is not old"? That United Artists logo is from the early '80s. And it always gave me the goose flesh, by the way.
Selectavision has my heart.
Holy shit, the disney one at the beginning got me bad.
This was originally known as “The Good Ol’ Days: Nostalgic Logos”
Yeah...that View Askew one creeped me out -all "John Wayne Gacy"- and all...and the Renaissance one was scary as hell.
WTF.
That View Askew one scared the fuck out of me. lmao.
The View Askew Productions logo is .... very disturbing! What was the artist thinking???
5:08 666 Confirmed
The end of the BP logo sounds like a distorted wedding march
The logos nostalgic to me: RCA Selectavision - JRAF Jingles 2004, Simitar - Baseball Bloopers VHS 2006, BBC - Wallace and Gromit A Grand Day Out VHS 2010, WGBH/BP/Renaissance Pictures/RKO TV/BND VID - UA-cam 2008, THX Broadway - Bambi 55th VHS (first time seeing THX/enduring THXphobia), Paramount - It's The Easter Beagle Charlie Brown, Walt Disney Home Video - Pooh/Singalong VHS tapes, F.H.E. - Rudolf (original) VHS, Genesis - Real Stories of the Highway Patrol 2008, UA - Black Stallion Returns CBS/FOX VHS 2004, Video Treasures - It's A Wonderful Life colorized VHS 2006
The Worldvision logo sounds like the fanfare on View Askew.
Ack! Video Treasures scares me when the words come this close!
2:08..the hand holding the hammer is Jack Webb of Dranet fame.
Hey guys ? I'm sure it will be a good time I've been a while back
At 2:53 - The Paramount Closet Killer logo!
Damn, that one at 5:09 is the stuff of *night terrors!*
I only remember:
BBC (from wallace and gromit)
Disney (from most VHS videos)
Paramount (From top gun)
FHE (From the magic school bus I think)
THX (from lots of things)
WGBH but I forgot what It was from
I saw some men doing some roadwork the other day and thought of the Mark VII logo.
Video Treasures creeps me
Paramount, THX, United Artists, RCA Selevtivision
haha paramont and thx scared me too but its not that bad anymore tbh
the (sega) genesis logo is awesome!
I know for a fact the second logo scares almost everyone..EXCEPT ME! :D
Ha Aphex Twin and TV Idents: you are a man after my own heart.
Since When Miramax Films Worked with View Askew? Those logos appeared in Jersey Girl (2002; PG-13; Romantic Comedy).
2:09 Robot Chicken Adult Swim logo sound!!
2:09
2:08 where the williams street sound comes
I'm not scared of all the logos.... I really love "A Selectavision Videodisc Presentation." logo so much! :-D The Pictures of an Exhibition...
heyyyy this was posted one year ago now :D
***** oh yea sorry about that xD
3:12
Thoughts of Emerson Lake & Palmer as well as Rik Mayall in The New Statesman!
POSITIVE LOGO
thx that crap scared the hell out of me when i was little D:
4:45 UA is a skinny legend
heh--interesting. the first part of the "golden video" logo is creepy, or "scary," if you will. but the second part is relaxing and very pleasant
0:52 The Walt Disney Home Video logo!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩! Loving it! How about you? Like if you do, because it will spark your imagination!
*Bryanston Pictures, logo used from 1972-1976.
The BP and Ontario Educational logos were Scanimate all the way!
The Video Treasures logo sounds like a Mac starting up.
Never seen that BP one before. Creepy!
@mrlegofan404 I know. But Bryanston pictures is back, but they are just a private company now.
The THX logo doesn't scare me (it never did), but it sure does piss me off XD
The Mark VII's fanfare is the same as Williams Street.
THE OECA Logo
Pity you did not include the early 80's BBC video star logo. Now THAT was scary!
*3:27* Hey! Renaissance Pictures is scary! You cant just put that logo in nostalgic logos! So deal with it!
