Cotton is a huge crop in Arizona. My family farmed cotton in both the Gila Valley and Phoenix. Riding in the back of a cotton picker while it's being picked and hanging on for dear life as it's dumped into a cotton trailer was like one of those scary state fair rides. Great fun! In terms of religion the founders were pretty brilliant. The first amendment basically says on the matter: “This government will be a secular government, but we are not saying that the people to be secular themselves.” I have always found it so funny that these people completely forget what religious rights even are until it affects them. Build a shrine to the Ten Commandments in front of your court house? Okay, but remember if Christians can put religious monuments on government property then everyone else can too, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Scientologists, Pagans and Satanists.

Actually we do grow cotton in Arizona. It's a giant waste of water left over from WW2. It was determined that cotton was so important to the war effort we needed to diversify the crops, and they are still growing it to this day. Sorry about more ridiculousness
