As the unit is a CD player, I would not be looking to provide a repair tutorial.

Yamaha Rx-v677 in protection mode with prt-dc 0L code , transistors test ok, when started in diagnostic mode all transistors show voltage on collector pin and -25v on all base and emitters. Dc prt line showing -2.5v instead of + 0.6v Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The Prt-dc line is high hence why the protection mode has triggered.
As you have advised all transistors in each output channel are measuring the same incorrect voltages hence your looking for a common cause.
Check the power supply voltages are correct and also the voltages common to each output channel.
I presume you have down loaded the service manual.elektrotanya.com/yamaha_rx-v677_htr-6067_rx-a740_sm.pdf/download.html#dl

All supply voltages seem correct the only one that appears to be missing is the usb 5.6 on connector on digital board, I put digital board into working Rx-v677 and works ok. When you say prt-dc has gone high surely it has gone low as indicated by fault code and it being a minus voltage. Sorry for questions as you can guess I only do this as a hobby. A little bit of info for you the unit in question was bought new and never used I got it in original box it was still in original wrapping with all accessories. It is absolutely spotless , I set it up and it worked perfectly for over a day then just turned off, could a cap cause this fault as I know they only have certain shelf life (8Yrs)

@@JackSparrow-ej4fl When you say connector are you refereeing to CB942 (to digital 1) which is derived from the Sub transformer and associated circuit. DC_PRT should have triggered the protection mode resulting the unit powering off, but from what you're describing and that your able to take voltage Measurment's the unit is not in protection mode? As the unit is new and has not been used its less likely you are looking at an age-related failure for example and electrolytic capacitor drying out.

@@AudioAmplifierServicing The connector I am referring to is cb947 , the voltages at cb942 are present

Just to not I am taking measurements by turning protection off as per service manual some were also taken in standby, Thanks for hel
