Pin benders. Mo Fos! Nice work finding those corroded fuses. When i power down my Cambridge audio A300 there is a capacitor discharge squeal through the speakers. Is this normal?
Also I have a 4kw 4chan Powersoft power amplifier (with switching powersupply). When i turn it on, regardless of vol position there is a high pitch sound through the speakers which rises to above audible range within 5 seconds or so. Sounds like the power supply starting up but not being filtered adequately. Must check caps some time. Any ideas?

Hi the A300 squeal is normal as the unit has no speaker protection system.
You can purchase such a circuit board and fit it into a case for example.

With reference to the Powersoft power Amplifier I would recommend contacting the company directly.
