My plastic one is split aswell. Rubber is destroyed on right side. I got a new shiny metal one and I’m about to replace it now . Let you know how it turns out with my stock Downpipe
Sorry for the delayed response! I haven't been able to do a full visual inspection since my car has aluminum skid plates. From what I can see and feel, the replacement appears to be holding up. If it's blown again in a location that I cannot see or feel, I'm going to let it ride since it's not making any noise. Thanks for visiting!
I think on the bushings you can spray some soapy water (or wooder if you are Chris Fix) to help press things in. Then it'll just wash away with the rain.
They weren't too hard to remove. I just couldn't get any leverage on the mount while laying under the car. Thanks for the tip about soapy water. Hairspray works, too. But I don't have the same access to it today as I did in the 80s and 90s. ;-)
Srsly - my 4 year old MK7 is definitely looking "older" and it only has 47k miles. Damn overuse of salt in the NE area! 2 flakes and the roads end up with more salt than snow.
I'm not sure what you mean. I suspect that you may be referring to parts that are aftermarket such as the APR downpipe bracket or the skid plate bracket. Neither are present on factory cars. Thanks for visiting!
@@StealthGTI yea just woundering cuhz mine was like that as well ! I am waiting for part to come but been hear some type of rattling and first thought it was coming from Clutch but now I’m thinking it’s that ! Cuhz it’s intermittent

Hey scott! Noticed mine is blown out in the same spot - APR pipe 70k. Is your replacement holding up?

What symptoms were you getting any rattling or anything ?
No symptoms. I discovered it during a visual inspection. Thanks for asking.
