- Vladimir Horowitz plays F. Liszt's "Au bord d'une source". This translates into something like "the spring".
This is one of my favorite songs, please enjoy!
can you believe this recording is an outtake.
How many more superb outtakes are there which we will never get to hear.
The last few moments of this video are beyond words - priceless - how inspiring to see his joy. We should all strive for music like this.
So beautiful play...
Really clear and thoughtful playing!
there's also the "black key" etude, and the video component of the moszkowski etude that plays over the credits in the VHS version.
maestro kept his gold watch on for this one. :) maybe that's why they didn't put it in the final movie? amazing tone in the soft parts but a little fragmented and slow in the mort virtuosic. i wish they had done just a few more takes - i'm sure each would have been different.
Liszt was so pure-hearted
I've heard his recording from the 1930's and it was just amazing, very vital and fresh... Lots of mistakes, of course, but does any great pianist play without mistakes when he or she plays really good...:)
3:05 is an editing mistake. They showed the very first time that theme appears, and it's not the same as what he played.
Wonderful "playing". Softer felts on the hammers would be welcome. His inventive articulations and nuanced "voices" are always fresh.
This is my top song Horowitz played?
Bad! Listen to the May '47 recording on RCA Gold Seal. I think that this is a good recording. They didn't have videos then! You Tube is full of Horowitz videos. Too bad nobody knows how great he really was before the...maybe somoeone knows? If you have insight into what I'm talking about, I am interested in hearing from you. Especially if you can play;)
In what year was this recorded? Thank you to answer! :)
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ily bawb slip tiem
Don't worry brother, you'll get over it.
This is my most preferred version of this song.
I hear all the others and I dont think they bring out the musicality of this performance.
They all sound like a race instead of what this is.
Music this good is better than sex.
This one is only OK. It's pretty mannered. The older ones are the best of all time.
Too uneven for my taste. I much prefer the 1950s recording by Wilhelm Kempff
the piano sounds bad, not the pianist...
