- It's day one for the Rookies, they're being thrown in at the deep end and Officer Bradford gets shot!. And, just when Nolan thought his day couldn't get any tougher, Sergeant Grey informs him that he will do everything in his power to discourage him from continuing to serve, as he fears that Nolan's "mid-life crisis' will endanger the lives of his officers.

Also, again there's a point to be made that by leaving the other officer she nearly got killed, yes she handled it but it would've been a lot less risky if he stuck with her. Everything going as well as it did was due to luck rather than judgement

No rational person can say Nolan didnt make the right call by leaving bishop to help the cops getting shot at. The other cops were being LITERALLY SHOT AT and one of them was ALREADY shot. If this happened irl and Nolan got fired for it, *I’D* be pissed
Personally, If I was Nolan's LT or CPT, I'd have suspended him for toxic leadership and hazing. Hell, In the Army, I'd be typing up Nolan's citation for initiative and bravery.

Savage Wolf Guns are 100x louder in real life. Have you ever shot a gun without ear protection? Your ears ring for half an hour and it’s hard of hearing for a little.
Bullet proof Crown Vic might be accurate to real life. If she's behind the car and they are shooting into the front, the engine is going to stop those bullets. Sure, from pretty much any other angle, bullets are going to go right through. They just won't do it from that angle.

I love the seemingly infinite ammo, no regard for crossfire, EMS rolling up without clearance, and the one officer shooting with the slide on her gun locked back

I also like that when Officer Nolan shot in self-defense, T.O. Bishop said he’s now a murder suspect. And also while they made a close-up shot on John Nolan’s weapon you could clearly see that’s it’s a prop.
I also love the occasional holster hoods being down for no reason, creating a huge risk for the officers. Even Tim Bradford does it later in the show.
As a person whose getting trained as an emt I can say EMS will never roll up while shots are being fired. There’s something called scene safety

I think there would be a little more than 3 units when the call goes out for officer down. Shots fired. And the EMS doesn’t pull when the shooting is still going on.

An interesting concept for a show that will literally defeat its whole purpose and uniqueness as it goes on.
Wow this show has so many issues with it. This has no realism whatsoever and the policy’s of actual departments were violated many times.

Exactly, everyone says there's Tactical EMS sometimes but that didn't look like it, yet I'm not an expert. Idk a lot about they LAPD. They probably should've waited for additionals as well, and preferably a panic button or something. But hey, it's just a show after all. It could be worse lol

CO's usually use titles. It's part of the chain of command and discipline.

I've just noticed this but if you look at 4:01 you'll see Lopez's pistol slide is in the locked back position indicating that its empty but she still manages to fire of 1 more round edit: ps I'm sure she would have more than 3 rounds in a full mag that hasn't been fired

Am I the only one that feels like Grey was a terrible leader in season 1? Like he became one of my favorite characters later on but in season 1 he didn't seem like a tough but fair watch commander, just a pompous, toxic, demoralizer.
Like I get trying to weed out someone you don't think is cut out for the job, but when your reasoning to try and sabotage an officer's career is literally just "he old." You aren't protecting your other officers, you are just a butt hurt idiot.
I'm glad they started writing him better/giving him character development because I fucking love later season Grey.

Throughout this entire incident, not ONE officer used a Patrol Rifle.. in LA.. one of the first departments to have patrol rifles.. because of something pretty similar to this.
