I played this game before the original rework, back when it was still named Heist and even had Simon's music. Seeing it go *official* just feels... So bizarre. I love it. Hell, Overkill knew about it back in the golden days of Payday 2. All they did against it was ask them to pull Simon's music and change the name to avoid any confusion with Payday The Heist.

8:11 so essentially on Roblox there’s 3 ways to get revenue from making a game, there’s premium playtime, where players who have premium (formerly known as builders club) will play your game and you’ll make money based on the amount of time they play in the game, the second is locking the game behind a robux payment, usually done for games in beta or alpha, and then there’s gamepasses
16:44 In notoriety, you can distract guards via throwing throwables near them. This includes bricks which are found in the ‘gadget’ section. When you throw them, they will go off their normal patrol paths and go over to the thrown object to investigate. And you can pick them back up by walking over them.

I actually found out about Payday from Notoriety. I found it as a kid playing Roblox cause that's the best thing my pc could've ran back then and I found about Payday watching a clip about Notoriety. This might actually be a pretty nice thing for payday making it seen by new demographics.
i was absolutely hooked on this game before the shutdown. all of a sudden hearing it come back with an official licence one day was the biggest "WERE SO BACK" ive had this entire year.
I played Notoriety, before it was shut down. Fun Fact: Just like In Payday 2, the Saw used to be an Primary Weapon, before It was moved to the Gadget slot. But there was no skills, to buff its DMG, or to make it an Secondary, like in Payday 2. TBH, Im happy with the change of Putting the Saw in the Gadget slot
I'm glad to hear you liked the game, as a fan of it before and after it was taken down it's good to listen to one of my favorite youtubers agree with my sentiments
It wasn’t, in the notoriety discord, they confirmed that they had no idea that it was similar to the alesco heist and it was purely original, I never liked the gala in entry point, I don’t see why they would take inspiration from that heist.
i used to play notoriety all the time, and its the reason i got into payday. be glad that the game is what it is now, because way back in the day, the game was the buggiest thing you'd find this side of the mississippi, but it has always been incredibly fun, especially with a group of heisting buddies
I had played Notoriety before with my brother and am glad to see this childhood memory unlocked again after being nuked by copyright. I would suggest another ROBLOX game with stealth/loud mechanics and whatnot but I'm satisfied with this. Thank you, Knowley.
Whew! I've been playing notoriety since 2016? 2017? I've stuck around through the revamp and even came back after it was released with the "payday experience" subtitle. Its the game that actually got me to go buy and play pd2 once I figured out what it was inspired off. There are a few more interesting games on roblox that you might've heard or gotten suggestions for; Entry Point, an excellent stealth-action FPS with inspiration from PD2 & Hitman:WOA. There are a few interesting up and coming games that may fall into the purview of games loosely inspired by PD2 and other stealth-heisting elements... such as: Under The Radar - With a unique artstyle, gameplay and story. Operators - The demo (which you can play right now,) has three missions. Spotlighting its three main components, stealth, hacking & loud. But... yeah. I'm, of course, glad you made a video on this. It's a neat game.
When notoriety went down i played payday2 and now when i play notoriety i do things from pd2 which dont work in notoriety like throwing bags to team ai
20:25 about that, I don’t know if the song is still the same, but on art gallery the song is thefatrat’s “do be do be do”, and it makes the map a great bop to play loud in and genuinely gives off the feeling that the cops are mounting up and getting ready to par- I mean rush in
8:07 Game owners get paid by the Roblox Company with robux depending on how many players play the game.(Lets just say 2-3 players = 500 robux. pls correct me if im wrong.) Robux then can be sold back to the Roblox Company for a 285-1$ ratio. So with the amount of players big games get (usually over 1 million each day) you could genuinely get rich from Roblox.
It doesn't work like that, you get some robux if people with premium play your game but that depends on how long you can keep them engaged and I don't think you get much from it, there's also gamepasses which are like dlcs. The reality is that with the amount of competence and how Roblox obviously doesn't want to pay you shit, unless you're lucky and get a lot of kids to play a shitty game it's probably not that profitable. And I didn't even talk about the taxes, you do save on servers costs tho.
A fun Roblox game for sure. One of the best honestly. Glad to see it is back and have been having fun playing it for the first time. My only gripes are some pathing issues. Cops jumping over nothing is annoying but just Roblox jank. Also game is a bit tricky to start into. Mostly just I'm blind as hell and have trouble reading Jade explaining what needs to be done.
24:30 I played both payday 2 and notoriety and I prefer notoriety cuz: - not crashing (I have high end pc) - shorter heists - you dont need to play meta build to complete a mission on nightmere with hardest mutators (it will be very hard but possible) - enemies are not capsules so you are not stuck if 2 enemies push you in to a wall - enemies are not stacking as much as in payday 2 (I hate panic room heist when 999 enemies are on the roof) - better skill tree my favorite perk is pigeon carrier (carry 2 bags) - fun infamy system - I like being fast - clockers are good (a lot better than in AAA payday 3 XD) - stable servers (in payday 2 I hate epic servers and I cant change them to steam cuz my friends play on epic) - only few dlc instead of payday's 9999 dlc - no need to download so inviting people to play is easy - ozela heist - good looking graphic but not realistic and its not blurry
Been playing Notoriety on and off for 6 years literally the game that got me into payday in the first place. Having it come back was such a relief and i have already infamied 3 times since the rerelease. It has and always be my favorite heisting game as its just so simple and way better to grasp at than payday 2 as I constantly struggled with getting the hang of payday 2.
One of my favorite mechanics is that if you go into custody while playing solo, YOU WONT AUTOMATICALLY FAIL THE HEIST! a bot can actually fight till the next wave then trade you!
Having to pay to get some of the really good unique weapons is a shame, but that’s also how it works in Actual Payday 2 and I bet they’re probably quite a bit cheaper in Roblox Payday 2
the only weapon pack that really worth getting is overkill one, where you get minigun as primary and rpg for secondary, its pretty cool but you can live without them as there are alternatives
You should cover how getting to the current max prestige in the game requires 313 billion in game dollars, simply half that with the cheaper infamy gampass, for reference the max prestige is 250.
A lot of features that you see in the re-release were not there before it was taken down, there were originally only 5 game passes being brick bank, golden mask casino, 2x money & xp game passes, and the heavy weapons game pass which all had lower prices then they do now. the re-release added a lot of new weapons with most being paid weapons probably added by starbreeze.
Notoriety is very important for me since I discovered PAYDAY thanks to it. And when they took it down when Payday 3 released I was very sad. But now it is back and licensed by PAYDAY so I'm very happy!
My favorite part about notoriety is that it adds various enemy types that add a unique twist to the game one example is the firebug and before the game was taken down the rocketeer two enemies that I’ve wanted to see in a game like this the firebug uses a flamethrower and has very little range and rushes towards you while not being very tanky they will rip you in half if they get close enough and the rocketeer works like a sniper, that fires explosives they are really cool and I can’t wait to see what other enemies they add
From what I remember, the new version is basicly the same. Some maps and features got removed (gambling for the golden ticket for example). The body moving system has stayed the same, as does the hostage moving.
Imagine going back in time to a year and a half ago and telling an avid kknowley fan (all 5 of them) that in 2024 he'd be playing every payday-like game except payday after Payday 3 finally came out.
I tbh primarily expected him to know that PD3 will take a few years of patching... you know, given that he's a PD youtuber and such - it's not like it happened the first time and like starbreeze would be known to bring out perfect releases (altho I gotta admit that PD3s release state was a masterpiece for their standards). So I'm honestly not exactly surprised, kinda more disappointed in the general community for somehow having expectations unrealistically high on a franchise where people jumped off for various reasons over the years before it became "acceptable" but at the same time not the game people originally bought.
I remember playing all the way back in 2017, then making my way to payday the following year, time to relive old memories Ps the game got reworked multiple times over the years
I know I'm late but, AI navigation is rather difficult with Roblox. While Roblox does have a built-in pathfinding system, it's super jank and often needs lots of help to get working properly. So there's the options of attempting to work around the existing features or writing one fully from scratch.
Will admit, I played a little bit of Notoriety before it was taken down. I'm pretty sure there was like a total of 20 heists but I'm not sure about that. The one thing that I am sure about however was that pathfinding for the cops in loud during heists like jewelry store was almost completely broken (cops getting stuck in the side hallway/on cars in the street). I'm glad to see that the game is more polished/developed according to the video. In terms of microtransactions, thats only to be expected in any number of games in roblox. I'm not saying its not an issue but its very much an "oh well", especially with the amount of free development that goes into these roblox games.
My only regret about this game is the loss of some of the payday based maps, and also the disappearance of some of the achievements. Other than that great game! Play it more!
I'm excited to give this another try, as at first I found it unfamiliar and difficult even as a relatively seasoned Payday 2 player. The review was quite helpful. Should you want to more deeply explore Roblox games, another interesting specimen you could focus on is "AniPhobia", also featuring combats with AI enemies, while in a more open world, survival-like approach. Enemies also have various special powers in it.
lol i play notoriety and played it even before the taking down of it, and still play it now! its fun to see you talk about this game as its what gave me my thirst for the blood of cops. the only reason i dont play payday 2 or 3 is cuz im too poor BUT one day DC will know bloodshed :)
I was there for its original release and played it so often that now that I am playing the re-release, I've realised how much of a no life i was on this game (I am prestige 112). However, this game got me into the heist game types and sunsequently got me into Payday 2. I'll forever love this game as the 1% of roblox games that are actually good.

also, the only way to get weapon skins is through either specific badges, (aka acheivements), and daily/weekly quests, witch is better than having them paid as that makes it more interactive
You know? I hate games where weapons has level. Does this game does that?
@@Mr_Schizo do you mean where weapons are level locked or the weapons have their own level system (a glock at level 3 or something,) cause in either case no, as long as you got the cash either irl for gamepass guns (witch is easy as 5 bucks can get you 500 robux, enough for 1 gun pack with leftover robux,) or ingame cash from doing hiests.
@@aloft_fox647actually some weapons (like the judge) are level locked but it takes like one heist to get to required level and you wouldnt have the money to buy them before then anyway
as someone who played notoriety before the takedown
we did 2 bags first LETS GO
Was glad to see it back, but its basically just a GUI overhaul. It was probably rushed together from files of an old PC its been that long.
The Roblox fan game launches with more content than the 70-90 dollar big budget shooter. Something has gone terribly awry in professional game development.
Chad passionate indie dev vs virgin soydev game developer
"Launches," fourteen years after creation
@@wewserlethaldude9 technically its closer to 10 years since actual work on the place was started in like 2014. But yeah, nowhere close to "release"
As a person who played notoriety all the way back before 2016, before I even knew what a payday was, I am very glad to see it at all again.
I actually found out about Payday from Notoriety. I found it as a kid playing Roblox cause that's the best thing my pc could've ran back then and I found about Payday watching a clip about Notoriety. This might actually be a pretty nice thing for payday making it seen by new demographics.
"payday 2 in roblox" i mean. Anything is better than the diesel engine.
I wouldn't be surprised if they straight up port the Ozela heist to payday 3 as a substitute for Alesso
Would be a funny April Fools joke.
i was absolutely hooked on this game before the shutdown. all of a sudden hearing it come back with an official licence one day was the biggest "WERE SO BACK" ive had this entire year.
I love transport as well it was awesome with the old mechanics, i also find it ironic this "knockoff" beats the original playerbase!
I'm glad to hear you liked the game, as a fan of it before and after it was taken down it's good to listen to one of my favorite youtubers agree with my sentiments
4:52 Im pretty sure this part was inspired by the auction heist in another roblox payday like, Entry Point.
It wasn’t, in the notoriety discord, they confirmed that they had no idea that it was similar to the alesco heist and it was purely original, I never liked the gala in entry point, I don’t see why they would take inspiration from that heist.
What is bro talking about? The Gala is MUCH more different
Entry point is nothing like payday
i used to play notoriety all the time, and its the reason i got into payday.
be glad that the game is what it is now, because way back in the day, the game was the buggiest thing you'd find this side of the mississippi, but it has always been incredibly fun, especially with a group of heisting buddies
I had played Notoriety before with my brother and am glad to see this childhood memory unlocked again after being nuked by copyright. I would suggest another ROBLOX game with stealth/loud mechanics and whatnot but I'm satisfied with this. Thank you, Knowley.
Banger as always
I used to make a bit of content on noteriety before it was called that, forgot what the original name was. So glad to see it make another come back!
It was heist, then it became crime spree, then back to heist, then notoriety
There are a few interesting up and coming games that may fall into the purview of games loosely inspired by PD2 and other stealth-heisting elements... such as:
Under The Radar - With a unique artstyle, gameplay and story.
Operators - The demo (which you can play right now,) has three missions. Spotlighting its three main components, stealth, hacking & loud.
But... yeah. I'm, of course, glad you made a video on this. It's a neat game.
"what day is it?"
*"Its our payday"*
When notoriety went down i played payday2 and now when i play notoriety i do things from pd2 which dont work in notoriety like throwing bags to team ai
20:25 about that, I don’t know if the song is still the same, but on art gallery the song is thefatrat’s “do be do be do”, and it makes the map a great bop to play loud in and genuinely gives off the feeling that the cops are mounting up and getting ready to par- I mean rush in
The original notoriety was so much fun i really enjoyed playing and even with only playing with randoms everyone worked together so well.
7:42 ah yes, knowley joins roblox and is an acorn head. nice to see that he's enjoying notoriety tho
Time for him to get spammed
Starbreeze must feel like a king watching their kingdom fall
Ah notoriety, I played it a little bit with buddies but never really bite down on it, mayhap i shall play it again
If you are looking at Roblox heist games, play Entry Point. Good game
you should cover teardown

I played both payday 2 and notoriety and I prefer notoriety cuz:
- not crashing (I have high end pc)
- shorter heists
- you dont need to play meta build to complete a mission on nightmere with hardest mutators (it will be very hard but possible)
- enemies are not capsules so you are not stuck if 2 enemies push you in to a wall
- enemies are not stacking as much as in payday 2 (I hate panic room heist when 999 enemies are on the roof)
- better skill tree my favorite perk is pigeon carrier (carry 2 bags)
- fun infamy system
- I like being fast
- clockers are good (a lot better than in AAA payday 3 XD)
- stable servers (in payday 2 I hate epic servers and I cant change them to steam cuz my friends play on epic)
- only few dlc instead of payday's 9999 dlc
- no need to download so inviting people to play is easy
- ozela heist
- good looking graphic but not realistic and its not blurry
Been playing Notoriety on and off for 6 years literally the game that got me into payday in the first place. Having it come back was such a relief and i have already infamied 3 times since the rerelease.
It has and always be my favorite heisting game as its just so simple and way better to grasp at than payday 2 as I constantly struggled with getting the hang of payday 2.
notoriety was my introduction to payday, been a fan of the franchise ever since
One of my favorite mechanics is that if you go into custody while playing solo, YOU WONT AUTOMATICALLY FAIL THE HEIST! a bot can actually fight till the next wave then trade you!
payday youtuber plays notoriety. something truly amazing has happened.
Kknowley playing Notoriety was not on my 2024 bingo card
I played this game so much in middle school it’s great to see it back
Having to pay to get some of the really good unique weapons is a shame, but that’s also how it works in Actual Payday 2 and I bet they’re probably quite a bit cheaper in Roblox Payday 2
Plus the base game is free.
@ yes that too, although they are basically selling payday 2 for pennies whenever it goes on sale
the only weapon pack that really worth getting is overkill one, where you get minigun as primary and rpg for secondary, its pretty cool but you can live without them as there are alternatives
@@doomsdaymufffin yea i got the sniper one when it first came out years ago, it sucks, 3 of the same gun pretty much
You should cover how getting to the current max prestige in the game requires 313 billion in game dollars, simply half that with the cheaper infamy gampass, for reference the max prestige is 250.
I’ve played this game before it gotten taken down, it got a huge makeover since last time I saw it.
I remember playing it and it's the game that actually got me into payday, besides the reload animation video. But it was a huge reason I got payday 2
Notoriety is very important for me since I discovered PAYDAY thanks to it. And when they took it down when Payday 3 released I was very sad. But now it is back and licensed by PAYDAY so I'm very happy!
Entry point is another good one
entry point is its own thing
Notoriety (used to be Heist) looking at Payday 3: "You couldn't live with your failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me."
It really says a lot that payday is so in the toilet that an officially licensed Roblox game is enough for this community to be a bit happy
I remember playing notoriety in 2016-2017, good times
There were more payday heists back before it got taken down, such as blood money and go bank, which are missing right now
My favorite part about notoriety is that it adds various enemy types that add a unique twist to the game one example is the firebug and before the game was taken down the rocketeer two enemies that I’ve wanted to see in a game like this the firebug uses a flamethrower and has very little range and rushes towards you while not being very tanky they will rip you in half if they get close enough and the rocketeer works like a sniper, that fires explosives they are really cool and I can’t wait to see what other enemies they add
There is an m1 abrams in the game now.
From what I remember, the new version is basicly the same. Some maps and features got removed (gambling for the golden ticket for example). The body moving system has stayed the same, as does the hostage moving.
this looks so much better compared to when i played around 10 years ago
Holy shit it’s back… this is the best gift I’ve gotten.
Notoriety is what introduced me to the Payday franchise. I’m glad it’s back and I can experience those memories again.
I played it far in the past (glad to see it back)
Nice to see the game getting the respect it should, also *cough* *cough* if they happen to want a voice actor I am available *unconvincing cough*
I played this way back in the day. It was a blast despite the (several) bugs
I remember playing all the way back in 2017, then making my way to payday the following year, time to relive old memories
Ps the game got reworked multiple times over the years
I know I'm late but, AI navigation is rather difficult with Roblox.
As someone whos maxed infamy on notoriety and have 800+ hrs on payday 2 im proud to say. Both is good.
Honest to God, similar to others where they got into Payday from this game, i got into Ultrakill from Pressure.
dam, gotta play this when i get back from vacation over at my Gma's
cant wait for the entry point review
lol i play notoriety and played it even before the taking down of it, and still play it now! its fun to see you talk about this game as its what gave me my thirst for the blood of cops. the only reason i dont play payday 2 or 3 is cuz im too poor BUT one day DC will know bloodshed :)
I was there for its original release and played it so often that now that I am playing the re-release, I've realised how much of a no life i was on this game (I am prestige 112). However, this game got me into the heist game types and sunsequently got me into Payday 2. I'll forever love this game as the 1% of roblox games that are actually good.
