  • Not information I was planning on making public as it involved some suspension damage to the rear of my car. However thorough remedial work was carried out by Porsche Brooklands and the car is in better conditions parts wise than before.
Inspired by Damian, aka one of The Car Guys, to make this video. Thanks Damian for allowing me to use your material in this video. A truly authentic and honest presence on UA-cam.

CG do great work. The way the roads are currently alignment needs to be done every week.

I learnt this lesson too (on a BMW estate) - that the front feels flighty becuase the back is all over the shop. Resolve the rear axle, and the front regains its magic.
Hoping to get my 981 GTS to Center Gravity for this reason: a decent bespoke set-up!

2:56 into the video :) Absolutely. When I'm pushing my zimmer frame I don't want to look back and say "I bought a fantastic car and didn't drive it...wasn't I good". Nope, I want to say "I enjoyed every minute of ownership"

Looks like you've got a knowledgeable alignment specialist and they are so hard to find.

Our cars are our pride and joy, no one wants to publicly admit their car was damaged, as when it comes to resale someone might say it’s worth less. If and when I try and sell the car, and someone tries to lowball me, I will tell them to walk.
The car since manufacture has been serviced by Porsche. Since I took ownership I applied the standard Max Revs OCD care package to the car. Soon after purchasing the car I pushed with my OPC to have some suspension knocking noises investigated when driving over very specific surfaces, and only sometimes. Had to leave my car with them for 3 weeks. With the right conversations eventually both rear dampers were replaced and some rear suspension arms all under warranty. In the next video pay attention and you will notice the rear dampers are not from 2016. This was several years ago and I didn’t make video content about this. The warranty work cured some of the knocking noises people say is common on a GT4. If you don’t use the car often the cars are more prone to making odd noises from the suspension imho.
With regards to this most recent incident you can see the arms which were replaced at OPC. In summary my car is BETTER now than ever before. I’m not proud of the fact I have a character defect. My Cayman has to be as good as possible with my available budget. If I don’t feel it’s right I don’t get the same enjoyment on road trips. As I said I’m not proud I’m like this as it isn’t cheap, but that is who I am and as I get older I am becoming MORE and MORE the person I know I am inside, becoming truly authentic.
Most likely not the answer you were looking for, in short the car is GREAT and thanks for asking. Take care👍🏼
