I’m ordering the Brabus version when the order book opens here in the UK possibly next month with deliveries from December. Dual motor 428 PS 543 Nm 0-62 3.9 seconds.
The fox assistant reminded me of Rocky, the dog assistant that Microsoft had years ago on MS Office. The car looks really lovely...based on your first impressions (which sometimes are the ones that really matter), would you go with the smart#1 or with EQA?
Hey Joao, yeah! I remember that! Not sure yet…it’s going to cost less so I think a comparison video in the future might be coming! 👀 Long as I can get access to both at the same time! 🤞🏼
Thanks for mentioning Alexa. That set my Alexa off and I missed half of what was being said because she talked over the video! On a serious note £40k is too much money for small car. EVs won't really catch on until they are in the same price brackets as ICE cars, I think (but what do I know?).
Whoops! 👀 It’s an interesting topic with the price of EV’s but they also have several perks over ICE cars, speed / running costs so I’m not sure they will ever drop that low. I hope they do though! I’d love to get one!
@@npoleary Not sure that speed is an asset: my A200 seems plenty nippy, but running costs certainly are. I'd love to see a calculation of the lifetime costs of comparative ICE v EVs, given the rising costs of fuel and electricity. AS for "greenness", I drive fewer than 4,000 miles a year, so it would take me a long time to break even on my carbon footprint even if I had access to completely renewable energy (at my age, I probably never would). But I realise that EVs are the future, unless some better technology comes along. There are no perfect solutions.
Hi Nick! 😃 The first car you presented that has the steering wheel on the correct side. 😉✌🏼 - Visually, I think the car is very successful. I'm looking forward to the first crash test and the quality of the workmanship. - Maybe it will be a competitor for BMW's Mini Cooper?
Nuance Communications 🤓 Back in 2018 it was announced by Mercedes that they helped create the voice found in models today. They specialised in conversational AI technology for cars 👍🏼 I don’t know if it’s exactly the same voice but they do use their Dragon Drive technology in Toyota, Audi, BMW, Daimler, Fiat, Ford, GM, Hyundai & SAIC from looking online 👍🏼
It's a completely Chinese car, by the way (Geely), Mercedes only does the design. In Germany, prices start at EUR 41,500 (including 19% VAT) for version Pro+. Quality and equipment are awsome. You can already testdrive and order it, but Smart was obviously overwhelmed with the demand. Bumpy start with collapsing websites and the software in the car is not ready yet!
Very cute car. Thanks for the tour. Unfortunately SMART is no longer sold in Canada at MB. Wish MB brings it back.
Smart sounds a bit angry,”what do you want to do now”😂
Be a handy little run around I reckon with that range. Let’s hope they keep the price point low ! 🤞

I know! Insane fast speeds! I gotta check that power out! 🚗 💨
@@npoleary be the first person to give the quarter mile time, I’m going to guess 12.8 seconds.
I wish I had a track to test that! 👀
That’s fast!
@@npoleary yes that’s the problem it will probably hit its maximum 112 mph in that 400 metres sprint. 😇

Hey Brian, I’ve removed the comments posted below.
They weren’t appropriate 👊🏼
@@npoleary Fair enough Nick. I have no appetite for UA-cam arguments, though I'm always open to a good, civilised debate.
I really want to test drive this car!
Sign up at your nearest Mercedes and they’ll let you know!
When will smart #1 be available for test drive here in the uk?
I was informed it was a few month’s time…so hopefully soon!
@@npoleary aha I see.. looking forward for more in-depth review of smart #1 in your Chanel ☺️
Just keep taunting us in the U.S. with all these great things we can't have!

Glad you enjoyed it Sven! Yeah, the seats were super comfortable! But we’ll have to see when it comes out!

Ah awesome! Thank you! 🤓
@nick how come the cla facelift has not bin in your hands just yet ?
it's not out yet 🤓 it was only announced a little while ago :)
Is the voice of the Hello Smart assistant same than in MBUX Hello Mercedes ? It sounds like same voice…
Yes 🤓
In fact it’s the same in quite a few cars! 🦊
@@npoleary I thought it was Mercedes™️ only voice 😅
No I thought that, it’s in this video in a BMW that I made ages ago on the two voice assistants: ua-cam.com/video/XyrUcNmxzQs/v-deo.html
@@npoleary So same voice in both Mercedes and BMW, but who is that lady, is there some real person behind it or just computer generated AI voice ?

Under £40k? That would make this little'un a very tempting prospect ......

Hey Paul, the car’s not even out yet! Plus the software on the car is all pre-production.
Just a sneak peak preview! 🤓
