We have lived in The Villages for 2 years. 1st year we rented. Bought a golf cart 3 days after we got here. Loved the "golfcart experience". Then a year later we bought our home "between the 6's" . Honestly, theres so much to do here that we sold it, as we are "too busy" to get where we needed to be by golf cart. I miss it, but we can always get another one when life slows down. Too busy living our dreams. You will LOVE it here!!!

We moved here 2 years ago & live in Villages of St Johns by the Lake Okahumpka Recreation Center we love it & wished we had moved here sooner. Our daughters & son in laws & grands live visiting us because we live about an hour away from Disney & Universal! They have loads of fun here & golf cart around too. We stay pretty active everyday & are active in church & our community & clubs. We still watch Jerry & Linda, the Village Newcomers twice a week! Plus other UA-cam channels too! Can’t wait to see y’all back here again & staying longer😎😎
We look forward to our next visit and hopefully we will stay longer. There are some great youtube channels about the Villages and I think I have watched them all! I didn't expect our little video about our visit to get so many views and comments but evidently a lot of people are interested in The Villages. You did fantastic at explaining about The Villages. I'm Canadian so my dream is to get there one day. Still to young to retire and the cost for me is WAY more than for an American to just move to Florida. Thank you for taking the time to put out this video. It's always a pleasure to get others perspective.

We travel to Florida in the winter in our Motorhome. We found the Villages by accident. We came back a few times with realtor to view homes. We said nah not yet. We did lifestyle visit last August 2023, drank the kool-aid and bought house. My husband lives and drinks golf. So this was perfect. We just sold our house in Delaware in July. We plan on traveling in our motorhome to go back to the DC area to visit kids and grandchildren. We also take about 3 cruises a year. We said we wished we would have brought the house back 2018 instead of buying our house in Delaware. It’s a blast here! So much to do I feel like it’s vacation 24/7
We can definitely see how folks enjoy living there and we can't wait until our next visit. We may end up living there one day but not right now. Maybe we'll meet you guys one day on a cruise or in The Villages. Keep on keeping on!!

I watched them put up that Chitty Chatty bridge. Two men with joy sticks controlling large hydraulic jacks had it in place in about 30 minutes. It was constructed right next to the gas station and lifted into place.
That sounds like it was very interesting to watch.
They allow for storage of stuff like that. I wanna move there and love old cars. Have 3 right now all

what you are referring to as a Village are actually town squares. there are probably 100 or more actual villages. You have the three town squares, sumter, spanish springs, and brownwood. Sawgrass isnt really the same, but some call it a town square. I have done a week stay and also stayed a month in Jan 2024. We stayed in st charles village which is almost right in between sumter and brownwood, and we loved that area. we could do get anywhere we wanted to be in a cart in 15-20 minutes. I prefer the more northern compared to the south where you were. More golf up north, more stores, more everything really. That being said the new eastport area is being built and that will improve the south area.

We have done 2 lifestyle visits and are coming back in November to make a final decision on the house we are going to build in Eastport. We have been in this process for almost 2 years. We hope to start the build in April 2025 and move in September ish. Coming from Utah and cannot wait to say goodbye to snow forever.

We went down the summer of 2021 and rented for 2 months. It was so much fun. Met lots of nice people and it was so beautiful there. We stayed in the Brownwood area and could walk to Eisenhower Rec center or jump on the golf cart. Enjoyed your video.

I've visited twice. Both times was for The Running of the Squares 5k. I live in the MiddleTennessee area and drove down both times. I'll be back in October for The Running of the Squares/Brownwood. This time I'll be looking for a place to live. I love it and cannot wait to get there. Hope to see you there.
Hi. We drank the koolaid a year ago, but are still part timers. We are retiring next June. We struggle cause you just can’t really explain TV, you’ve got to see it. Great video.

We have looked at this place for several years and we found the avg look for 2 yrs then buy..we’re in moultrie creek and LOVE IT….we were like you but sold it all and headed down…being able to be active everyday of the year up until nighttime was so appealing…the people are sweet, there’s churches here, there’s community here.see ya when you get here ❤

We went in July from CA and loved it so much we bought a house and now after a whirlwind of activity August 24 posting we just had the open house on in CA. And I am still working and trying to get approved for permanently working remote. We talked to more people during our 6 day lifestyle visit than I have in a year. Agree about the size of TV. We used the car more than the golf cart. It’s huge.

Once you get here you may use the cart more than you think.
BTW - we are now in our Village home. What a whirlwind.
The South area ( 44 area) is now actually going to be the MIDDLE OF VILLAGES 🏡🌴 #1 Decide do you want to be able to have a fenced private yard or not!!! #2 Go from there… like small quiet area for your home or a large neighborhood? #3 NEW BUILDS will have Larger Bonds, Higher Taxes, Sumter County lowest taxes!!👍
I’ve lived in The Villages for over 2+ years, I’m an avid golfer lover to play 5-6 days a week. I ride my golf cart everywhere, grocery shopping, the VA, of course golf, the town squares, recreation centers I stay inside the bubble if I can’t get there by golf cart where they are not allowed I don’t go. I was here in 2011-12 the same thing 2 of the reasons I moved here was golf and gold cart community. My wife died in 2010 and she told on her death bed I after she goes you have to move to The Villages. I rented for 2 years had a rough time moved back to Tennessee finally in 2022 I living out my wife’s wishes. There’s over 100 executive courses, 14 championship courses a couple of pitching pots and A putting 18 holes course. So you see I’m where I belong.
Wow, I love your story and so sorry you lost your wife. We loved everything about TV and can't wait to get back for another visit. Hopefully our next trip will be longer.
Northern Area of Spanish Springs Town Center will be RESALES👍
Brownwood Paddock Town Center will be RESALES & south of 44 will be resales & some New Homes…..Lake Sumter Landing Town Square area will be RESALES 🌴🏡
Over The New Becker Bridge is ALL NEW & take few years to get established. Hope this helps.

No trip is complete without a stop at Buc-ee's! We have lived in The Villages for a year and a half. We are on the younger side of people who live here. However, one of the reasons for moving here was the accessibility and ease of getting around in my wheelchair. Plus you can't beat free live music 365 days a year. We were "just going to visit" too...famous last words. Let us know when you pick out your new home lol!
We will certainly be making more visits and will keep everyone posted about a new home in the Villages.
We haven't done the lifestyle visit yet but plan on moving to TV next year.

We have friends that retired in The Villages 17 years ago. That was the first time we ever heard of or seen the place. After we retired, we'd rent for a month, then 2 months. Then in 2021/2022 we rented for 7 months to shop for a home. After all of the years of visiting, we were very familiar with all areas of The Villages. We actually fell in love with the south end. We now own a home in Marsh Bend . We love it there. I head back to FL next week & can't wait to return.

By golf cart it only takes me from the north 45 minutes to Brownwood 1 hour to Sawgrass I live 6 minutes to Spanish Springs to the south and 9 minutes to Lake Sumter from the north. The Villages is only as big as you want it to be personally I like Lake Sumter and Spanish Springs area it’s my favorite part of The Villages. All vegetation and trees are all maturely grown makes a lot cooler here on the side of the villages.

I like everything about The Villages except the location. Too hot and humid for me half the year, and it's also pretty far to the nearest airport for those who fly alot.
