This has actually given me an idea for a 2 phase boss called Blackflame Monk Rexus. In his first phase, the player will notice almost immediately that he uses the Godslayer's Greatsword as his weapon instead of a flameblade like other Blackflame Monks, and also some upgraded versions of black flame incantations, along with the standard spells Blackflame Monks use. After getting to around half health, Rexus will use the Ash of War of the Godslayer's Greatsword, but instead of just two attacks, he does the two standard attacks and ending with an overhead strike that sends out an explosion of black flame and imbuing his blade with black flames. This is where he starts using his upgraded incantations, called Godslayer's Flame and a three strike black flame combustion. But through blood sweat and fire, you the Tarnished bring him down. But it's not over yet. The Gloam-Eyed Queen steps in and blesses the fallen Monk with the god-slaying black flame, turning him into Rexus, Avatar of the Blackflame. Now, I'm sure we've all fought the Soul of Cinder at some point by now, and Rexus has some of it's moves, including Gwyn's imfamous grab attack, while also having his original moveset. Rexus, Avatar of the Blackflame can use a variation of the incantation Burn, O Flame!, but a black flame version of that called Godslayer's Firestorm. He will also periodically use the Queen's Black Flame Ash of War during the fight, as well as send pillars of black flames at the Tarnished during his half health phase. Upon defeating Rexus, Avatar of the Blackflame, you get three of the incantations he used. Godslayer's Flame, Godslayer's Firestorm, and Black Flame Combustion, as well as a remembrance. Games often have very effective orchestrated mood music that fits the scene and blends seamlessly into the background but doesn't do much for me outside of that as a song in and of itself, but this is one of two songs in the game with some actual kick that makes it worth listening to just because, this and the main theme.
i sang this theme every time my friend and i had to redo the godskin duo after failing at least 10 times we were like f it we going in full auto he rush towards the noble with his magic and i rush to the apostle with my blade and finally manage to end it
I remember my first time encountering the Godskin Apostle pretty early on in the game. Took me quite a while to beat him due to me going to him right after getting the first great rune. But I got one of the best faith weapons in the entire game, the Godslayer Greatsword. Once I got it I randomly decided to swap my build a bit and I regret not a single seconds. Such a powerful, insanely strong weapon with high poise, high physical and high blackflame damage, it still completely melts bosses even in late game. It was absolutely worth it to go to the divine tower in the scarlet rot area right away!
I like how the design is distinctly similar to the coiled sword and it being a godslayer feels like somewhat of a homage, that ash of war is crazy strong too. Somewhat looks like the edgier version of soul of cinder phase 2.
@TrevorKl 23 I did the stupidest thing that worked, heaviest defensive setup i could manage and wail on her together with the mimic(who would keep using the art doing crazy damage). That alongside erdtree heal on my memory slot made the mimic last through phase 2 as well.

i sang this theme every time my friend and i had to redo the godskin duo after failing at least 10 times we were like f it we going in full auto he rush towards the noble with his magic and i rush to the apostle with my blade and finally manage to end it
Best boss theme of the game. On par with smough and ornstein theme for dark souls 1.
Furry 🤢
@@Hoministic Closet furry detected.
@@Hoministic bro grow up
I like how the design is distinctly similar to the coiled sword and it being a godslayer feels like somewhat of a homage, that ash of war is crazy strong too.
These guys are the bane of my existence
im waiting for the vaati lore vid on these guys cuz they have some of the coolest designs and best music
We can read in their armor's description that their black flames are a god slaying technique they developed. From here on we can guess that they're a god slaying cult burning down gods and using their skins to make coats.
@@abovearth6740 Neither of the sets explain why they attack us though. Or what happened to the windmill village and why there is one deep in radahn's divine tower.
@@vignetter4802 Because they're video games bosses from a Fromsoftware games therefore they attack everything on sight.
I looked at the two black flame incantations I have and it springs even more questions. Maliketh? Gloam-Eyed Queen? Destined Death? Seriously there's a lot here that I'd love to know about.
@@abovearth6740 No, fromsoft always has a reason the entities are attacking you. They aren't careless.
Godskin duo, maliketh, and placidusax. The demigods would be doomed if they decided to band together and come down to the lands between
June 2024 still the best battle theme for now 7 more days til DLC
For anybody having trouble with either the Apostle or Noble: Sleeping Pots are VERY useful
I went to Caelid being low SL, somehow i ended up in bigass tower where Godskin apostate was waiting. he wipe floor with me so many times, but eventually i was the on top - one of the best feeling ever, plus he's theme embeded in my mind, and that's why im here
High poise damage weapons also knock them on their ass quick, especially the fat one strangly
We should have heard that angelic solo more in this song
Absolutely fantastic
2:04 my favorite part through out the whole song it makes me feel like the fight is about to get crazier
This kicks in once one gets revived
Theme: Godskin
Background: Frenzied Flame
Well done
They really did have the best music
I Fought The Sacred Apostle Right After Radahn And Oh Boy, He Gave Me A Much Harder Time To Beat And Is My Favorite So Far
bro why u capitalizing all your words?
u also get 100k for fighting godskin so it makes sense hell be harder than randahn
When you're doing better than your best; here comes the stress.
No summon; all alone, Crimson Tears are almost gone.
Deliberate, plodding noise swells into focus. My herald; my witness.
. . .
Somebody finish this shit.
I love this theme
The only redeemable qualities of this awful duo boss are my +10 greatshield boys there to tank aggro, and this spectacular music. This and Godrick’s theme are just…. Insane. I love them so much
I died many times to the godskin guys but never once i got frustrated or angry because i wanted to keep listening to the theme.
I might be wrong but i think the composer of this one was actually Tai Tomisawa and not Yuka Kitamura like the description says.
thanks, I'll fix the description now
Listened to this so much I play this whenever i enter any boss fight, deadass makes me feel like a demigod
The fact that in order to get the godslaying greatsword i need to get crushed by this boss makes me happy.
Brings me back to DS3
After playing through elder ring a 7 times now. The godskin buo doesn't bother me anymore and I quite enjoy it now. After learning that the fight is about spacing the bosses apart made it way more enjoyable imo. Just recently killed them on a lvl 50 character after 20ish tries
Godskin really isn't that bad mostly a DPS check and using your environment kinda fight. Probably the best duo fight in elden ring but that's not saying much.
@@babblejacks2818 yup lol. Although they have a top 5 ost
Didn't notice this theme until I was fighting the godskin duo and had to look it up
Didn't expect snail...
These pale lads and their track be spittin' flames. Black Flames!
0:55to 2:59 I remember using my dual magma blades and running out of fp, stoned as fuck thinking in my head for about 2 minutes "where's the lava"
Fromsoft giving me the biggest banger of a theme while wandering through a dancing witch village hit me with the best kind of whiplash, holy shit this is great
2:00 definitely my favorite part
GEQ theme aka Melina before burning. So Heroic. They were good guys after all.
That second phase tho 😢My favorite part of the whole song
This soundtrack fucking rules
Funny part is I found this song while watching two people doing a cohop Zelda ocarina of Time match😂 this song is pretty epic
This song is dope. My GOD
Damn, this would’ve been an amazing main menu theme… I know what mod I’m making first
In my opinion it fits into Morgott boss fight (don't judge me)
I think it would be a perfect fit for pontiff in ds3
And that fanmade lyrics goes so well with their lore
The Godskins were probably one of my favorite type of boss in the game
Such a master piece... Fantastic music
This, radagon, and elden best ALL are number 1 when it comes to the god tier OST.
It could be our final fight against Melina gloom eyed queen of destined death. It sounds enough epic for that
@BloodyArchangelus That is, really creative.
2:07 😍
First time listening to this masterpiece was in the divine tower of caelid, the funny part is that i was clueless about Radhan’s great rune, i went there just for curiosity. However, when i first met the skinny one there i was so traumatized and triggered as well!! I couldn’t bear the fact that this random npc in a tower can 2 shot me and is hella powerful. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this masterpiece with every cell i acquire, the way he was extremely powerful to me and that masterpiece in the background, made it an absolute masterpiece, not to mention that victorious was uniquely wonderful.
I will never shut up on how fascinating Elden ring is, and how astonishing it was on my first play through, Miyazaki, you dropped this 👑.
1:23 thats why you are here
No, here for the entire thing
Heyyy Tsukasa Saitoh we got this boss fight just a minor boss sooo you know go easy on the … “makes this master peace”
