Completely agree! Right where I think it’ll be with a few more tweaks. I was able to get an allocation for Manthey Racing front lip and rear wing coming in May. Won’t help much at Laguna but that felt like the last thing needed on the car and will help at Sonoma and Thill. Hope you can come check it out later this year. Loving your videos. Great job at COTA!
Assuming this was HOD group D? Remarkable driving...but dang, at least one moment where it wasn't clear if folks were gonna be able to drive home! I'll be there in my humble 997S on the 21st of September.
Such a fun video to watch! Always a treat to watch someone really drive a GT3 like it's meant to be driven. Quick question (from someone who has never driven Laguna, so take it with a grain of salt). Going through the downhill carousel, wouldn't it make more sense to hold it more right/mid-track rather than tracking out so wide? My logic is that going into the next long left you're really waiting a long time for the car to rotate before you can really get back on throttle. I understand that you kind of hold it left to double apex the corner but I feel like it could be a tenth or so quicker before going into the second to last corner if you let the car really rotate through the carousel compression, and turn in wide to make the left-hand compression and have a good run going into 10. I could be wrong, and I want to acknowledge that, given I've never driven the track in real life.
I'd love to drive one sometime. The OEM Cup2R ZP option is faster than the goodyears I was running on the GT3, but they are only good for one session before dropping off (despite what the mfg advertises). Hard to convince an owner to spend $3k on tires and let me use the first session on them, but maybe it'll happen someday. I love the car.
I’ll make a video on it soon but did suspension, 19” wheels with Goodyear 3r, exhaust, and brake disks/pads. Ordered some Manthey aero I was lucky to find an allocation. That’ll be here in May and should help a lot. The only thing I really feel it needs is some downforce.
Np always feel free to ask questions! I was there and got an opportunity to run some laps on a cool morning in a stock 675LT and did a 1:14.6 as my best time back before they repaved it a couple years ago. We always wanted to try again after the repave for a 1:13 since most people gained about a second. But haven’t been able to get back out there for awhile.
Hey bud was your channel banned or something as I wanted to do a comparison between your 765LT lap and the latest Porsche lap to do kph/mph min and max speed corner exits and straights but couldn't find your channel?
Oh I just took down all of the old stuff, which I will add back some highlights before long. I happened to look and compare (since the gps speeds read a little lower on the GT3 with it being on 19" wheels). It is comparable to the 720s min speeds and about 2-3mph off the 765.
Much faster in the straight and more mechanical grip. Spyder had amazing balance and was like a GT4. Great for the price point, but this is another beast on track. Spyder is still king in the canyons, so much fun there.
992 is still much faster mid-corner and has better front grip. I think this has made it feel close to a GT4 RS. Super fun, but definitely not as quick lap times as 992.
@@Qqqqqqqqqaaaaaaa That is a tough one. The 992 is much easier to drive and faster. The 991.2 rewards using proper trail in braking and throttle to rotate the car. The 992 is clearly a better car, but the 991.2 is fun in the same sense as the 4rs.
@@TurninTrackOut Any preference for 4RS vs. 991.2 GT3? Maybe that's just different flavors of ice cream, but seems like there is now a $50k price delta between them.
This is the one! Looks like 1:29 low is doable with less traffic and no passenger. Amazing drive!

GT3 Cup cars do 1:24s I think?? So to get into the 1:20s with a "street car" (lol) would be impressive.
Nice driving. Looks like you were pushing that thing pretty hard. My best time at Laguna was a 138 in my Lotus.

Wow! Excellent driving. Seriously. I’ve had 2 GT3s and a Turbo. You know your shit
Good driving. 😎

Congrats on a new car,
Exact car I want, love it!
Nice drive 👍🏼 any suspension mods done on the car?
MCS 3-way coilovers, which make a big difference for the regular GT3. The GT3 RS comes with stiff enough suspension from the factory.
Would like to see you drive a c8 zo6 on this course for comparison. Comparable tire selection may be a problem?

Nice Jeff! you mentioned making some adjustment to the compression, what suspension change was made?
We were making adjustments to the MCS 3-way coilovers we put on the car
What has been done that deviates from stock? Looks like a really nice car!

amazing laps! did you notice any big changes with pdk sport v/s just regular pdk? (assuming you're in manual mode and doing your own shifts)
I actually haven't run it outside of sport mode yet, but I'll have to try it next time in April. Feels perfect in sport mode shifting myself.
Who is your buddy that is driving the C8Z06?
so was thtat in a 991.2 GT3 or you mentioned he switched cars? good laps
We only did 4 sessions (he did 3, I did this 1) in this car, which is a 991.2 GT3. He brought a different type of car for later. Thanks!
Hey bud sorry to bother again. What times did you do at COTA? I think you private'd all the old videos

@@TurninTrackOut that’s still one hell of a laptime so props to you🔥

Subscribed. Look forward to details on mods etc
Did you sell the Spyder?
Yep this is the replacement for the Spyder going forward. Will have more details on the plan in an upcoming video.

They all listed their Vettes the next day 😄
What a car
Tires?
Same Goodyear 3r as the 4rs video and same size as well so good comparison
This shite gonna get real now
oh that turn 4 🙃
