Porsche 991.2 GT3 would YOU do this with one ?!

- The Porsche 911 GT3 Smashes your senses But could you use one for a daily driver ? This review aims to find out while it also shows how Porsche takes the already razor-sharp 911 as its basis, and turns the wick right up the extreme road car scale:
wider, lower, and bristling with bespoke chassis bits and aero addenda what we have is a drive with eyes wide open type of car, a proper Nurburgring Contender,

ah so a Northerner ! 😜
991.2 GT3 without question. I asked myself the same question and ended up buying a 991.2 GT3 6MT. Hands down the best driving experience Ive ever encountered. Get a GT3 (preferably with a manual) and never look back.
Excellent video. Fantastic review of the GT3 and what an awesome car. Totally stunning in that colour as well. I think you should go for the GT3 as it’s certainly unique and is rare enough. You’ve even proved that you can live with it on a daily basis. Hope we get to see a video of you on track with the GT3 😉👌🏻👍🏻
thanks Fraser, your remarks are appreciated, getting it onto the track is a bit of a big ask !
Roger Bailey well, you never know!🤞🏻🤔😉👍🏻
The GT3 is an end of generation, dream model..992 is new but still, it will not be special in a couple years..get the GT3!!!..991.2 💌
Curtis Upperman your right 😊👍
totally correct
But Porsche has said the 992 gt3 will be n/a. And being a porsche it will be one step closer to perfection.
My thoughts will be the current RS power and better road grip.
@@brettlaird2221 so 3 years from now..yes ..maybe...991.2 is great, it will be like a 993..not a 996..it's a classic already, a real beauty. Best car ever ..but i hope you are right
This guy has such a calm voice while describing a Porsche GT3. it's not like Chris Harris.
If you could live with it as a daily driver, it's the car to buy. It's going to have much higher residuals at the end of your ownership period. Not that the standard 991.2 isn't special, but this is in a whole different class. I say go for it Roger!
Adam thanks ! I believe you are right 👍
You did a fantastic job with this video, I wish you were closer so I could get some tips, absolutely great...Great review on the GT3, incredible car...
Reviewing Playing & More RPM thank you for your uplifting comment !
Great video Roger. I might just have to ask my local OPC if they will lend me one. Love the front end of the 991.2 gt3 but I wouldn’t say no to a 991.1 either. 👍👍👌
Driver 81 Porsche thanks, nice to find your comment here, and you could always go and ask 😊👍
As the prior owners of this very car we can only say buy it, use it & cherish it just like we did for its first 9,500 miles. Its a wonderful piece of automotive kit that we've replaced with the even more awesome 991.2 GT3RS. If you can do it you really should :)
Robert Taylor thanks for the advice, this GT3 is immaculate and a credit to you, your RS must be amazing
Great video again Roger.
I can vouch that Robert’s RS is amazing.
Andrew Walker thanks 👍 wonder if he’d like it filmed 🤔😊
Those lanes are great for driving on, pretty much my daily commute. I keep expecting to see you when I’m out and about.
This is a brilliant review. So much better than most other you tubers, glad I just found this channel
thanks !!
Daily driver? You are living my Dream. Only Porsche on the driveway. 718 Spyder and a Gt3 as a daily driver. Good for you mate
"Very nice man inside" indeed, wonder if i walked in and asked for the keys for the Miami Blue Beast........."i don't think so" lol, another stellar review, absolutely love this car. Great overview again Roger, your channel growth is incredible and so deserved all the work that goes into these.
eh Joe your comments always give me a boost - sincere thanks 🙏
Perfect colour too. I was just thinking about the GT3. What an escape on four wheels!! Sorry you had to give up so much of your time having to drive it but once again, many thanks for sharing Roger. Best of Easter Blessings N Wishes.
Weenson Oo yes I had a tough time having to drive it! Good to hear from you again - best wishes - Roger
Awesome review Roger! The GT3 looks amazing. Love that blue!
Brother Dunne thanks for stopping by again, cheers 👍
I love your quirky sense of humour, and I love yours videos - keep them coming. Whether you should buy the car? The jury's out!
thanks Peter, appreciate your comment, 👍😊
GT3 but with 6 speed manual.👌👌
Excellent video. I watched it a few years late. I hope you bought the car.
They are stopping to see that it is you Roger! Watching and Supporting, Dropping another LIKE on your video!
Ray Hayden, J.D. 😂 thanks Ray
£150k in 2019 and not a lot less in 2021 what a car
this is a very well put together video
glad you like it
GT3 future classic
one of the best GT3 videos I have seen, less tyre smoking more real day using excellent
thank you
There was a tiny bit of tyre smoke to be fair
Would you park it in a supermarket car park, with cars either side.....? My worry is that there are so many people that either don’t care or would be off if they caused any damage.....
the car I'd treat myself to if i had money nice one
Yeah another great video many thanks Roger and I love that color too...Wonder if Porsche will let me test drive one
thanks eddie I could ask for you 👍😁
@@RogerBaileyOnCars I couldn't quite see the speedo around 2.17, the old eyesight is not what it used to be Roger. I'd guess around 45 mph.
GT3 is one of the best road cars around, nice vid mate
cheers Jed
*Hello Roger Bailey* I love this video for much reasons. I love the way you made it! I love England's streets and landscape. It's sooo beautyfull! and I love this marvellous car! Women loves cars !
Thank you for sharing. Greetings from a frenchie in France with a bad English speacking lol (full played video)
Sylvie bonjour nice to see you again !
Beautiful color, and gorgeous car. You definitely can daily this beast all day and drive it all year around. I have winter tires on mine during winter so I could drive it on the snow and during very wet & low temperatures weather. It has an amazing traction with the correct tires. Great video...Only correction the GT3 does not have parking sensors, at least the ones here in North America, but it does have a reversing camera, which is more than sufficient. Mark
thanks Mark, you have an amazing car, great to hear you make good use of your GT3
That was a NO then to the race track request?? Lol great video Roger as always! Good to see these cars out being driven, not polished, and sat in a lockup for life as an investment.
GBOAF216 thanks for looking in again, I haven't had a yes to the track as yet !
Buy it over a 992 for sure. And, in a color you've had before. Bulletproof fun and seemingly deflation-proof. Don't wait! Would be headed that way myself if the Taycan weren't on the horizon. And, may yet head there if Taycan is too much of a departure from the Mission E concept.
I think your probably right, thanks
That eye-catching miami blue!! Fantastic review of a fantastic car. Cheers!
Creative 7 Inc thank you
Love It definitely my favourite Porsche and would be the one I’d buy if I had the money, would probably have a different colour myself though. Great video Roger 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
thanks Rob 👍
I love that car....💙
I’d have one not keen on 911 models but this one I like!
Own a 981 Cayman.
981 cayman was one of my greatest ownership experiences, love those cars
I am biased as I already own one, but great video.👍
an epic drive, congrats 👍
Beautiful piece of machinery.
another very well made video roger
thanks Al
Got one and use it most days ,perfectly useable as a daily but wouldn’t buy bucket seats if doing so,regular seats are better for regular use .
franki68 good to hear you make proper use of your GT3, yes those buckets can be an effort to use
brilliant video again roger
cheers Shaun
Simply awesome. 👍
Cheers Daz good hearing from you
Great production quality Roger. I didn't know that the reason why Porsche limited production of its GT cars was because of EU laws. Instead I thought that it was the similar reasoning to Ferrari where they wanted to keep their cars 'exclusive' by being relatively rare compared to their rivals. It really goes to show how the EU are overall making a negative impact on people who love driving. Speed limiters installed cars, no more high revving naturally aspirated cars, no more V12s, its a shame. Surely there are other things that the EU can do to reduce the rate of global warming.
Richie Sakamoto thanks, I hear the EU will eventually end all production of internal combustion engines, best drive a good one now while we can !
The 911 GT3 is a good value. This color is my absolute favorite
Great report.
I would pick the new 992 for too many reasons to list.
Are there any days when it doesn’t rain in England?
Frank Ly 992 does look like a quality thing, hoping to drive one soon, when the rain stops !
...when it doesn’t rain, it snows! :)
I just got the GT3 after being very close to getting the GT4. The GT3 is simply special.
amazing car Brendan congrats
GT3 is the way to go.
Nikos DIY agreed
Agreed, but You must qualify your statement as such .....GT3 with manual transmission is the way to go......
ha ha the big guy buys a milkshake - great video rodger :)
cheers spook
Roger, another great video. This one’s a no brainer, it has to be the GT3. So, did you pull the trigger or are you waiting for the 992?
thanks Mark, good to see you here again, its a tough choice and I haven't gone either way as yet
Roger Bailey not a tough choice if you respect your money! gt3 holds value. confused as to what you are finding such a tough choice? 992 is new sure, but after a yr i have gotten bored of all 911s i have owned. i cant say that for my GT3 manual tranny however its other level epic. you either want a quiet new model sports car that everyone will own, or you want an epic race inspired driving experience where the sounds and noise will heighten your driving experience.
GT3
2020. Got 1. Same color, too 😊
Hey Roger, how about I buy you a coffee and a slice of cake for a passenger lap down Station Road?! 😎Love the videos!!
Shane Jackson its a deal
@@RogerBaileyOnCars Genuine offer! There's a cracking spot down by the Dee Sailing Club. Would love to photograph your car down there!
So... Purely, as a road car, would you, if you had the money (As their prices are fairly comparable.), go for the GT3 or the Turbo S with it's 4WD system.
Great video as always RB. I'm gonna pop up to Porsche Chester and ask them for a Turbo S for "A drive" and see what happens :-))...
As for the cobblestones in Chester, blame the Romans :-))...
And as for your multiple launches, you won't do that in any other road car without blowing it up..
You have to go for the new 992... Or this one... Or a Turbo S... Or ALL three!! :-))...
Your No1 stalker.
Thanks No 1 all three you say? 👍 problem is solved 😂
My second viewing of this video and fair play roger it's brilliant
thanks Jed, I really appreciate that
I have a manual one of these. For driving sensations get the GT3, as after a while the normal 992 will be too mundane. I live in Norfolk with lower speeds and B roads and I started with a pdk but I found that it was too easy and I went everywhere at 9000rpm to get a thrill. I sold it and bought a manual and now enjoy driving at much lower speeds around these smaller roads, it's much more interesting and somehow I don't feel the need to be hitting the red line all the time. I guess if you're tracking it or on motorways alot it may be different but for lower, 7/10th's driving the manual is the one :)
I would go for a 911.2 GT3! Its just a pure dreamcar! How was the sound inside if i may ask?
inside the car it sounded insane , made me laugh out loud,
The GT3 mate for sure. A bit pricier but I'm positive you will not ever regret it. It's a special car and a good investment
AutoBound thanks, most here seem to agree with you
@@RogerBaileyOnCars, I hope you keep up with the Videos. I enjoy your method and the way you present and describe the cars. I feel like I'm watching a show on National Geographic but for cars. Its different than other car review channels. Dont change a thing.
@@InMyShoes77 positive support like this is very nice to hear, thanks and best wishes - Roger
Iam waiting for the 992 GT3 fingers crossed it will still be NA and manual still an option great video btw!!
CAPITAL JB COMICS thanks ! rumours all seem to be saying NA, fingers crossed indeed - hope to manage to obtain one 👍
i hope the rumours are true :) cant wait to know the numbers it will make :)
@@kayoedowner6711 as long as we get something Great & worth the wait its all good with me hopefully good things will come to those who wait :)
@Larry Cable yes that's why ive already started the process..ive been buiding that relationship with the family that owns both Audi and Porsche dealership here in Ottawa..in the talks with the GM at Porsche now for me to be on that list...but still fingers crossed!!👍🏽👊🏽
@Larry Cable its nuts !!! i was talking to the GM and he was telling me they use to just give allocations to people who had bought these cars in the past but then what started happening these people just started listing them for sale or a lot of them went to China...so now they want it to go to people who will actually enjoy the cars so trying to find a better balance and also give a chance to new people trying to get into these cars ..so a balance of good exsisting and new customers and people who will enjoy th cars is how they will try to set allocations for the upcoming GT cars
I'm having the same dilemma! 991 GT3 vs 992. Have you made a decision? Thoughts?
I think the GT3 is the way to go Ross, its more exciting and more involving
@@RogerBaileyOnCars Thanks! Will be upgrading from a .1 C2S.
Love your videos BTW.
NO dispute buy the GT3 all day long if you have the money.
thebones thanks - appreciated
I would definitely buy that car if I where you. Though, love my current Porsche.
who in their right mind would get a run of the mill dime a dozen 911 in 992 guise when they could get a preowned GT3 for the same money. 992 is a pretty sports car, GT3 is a completely different driving experience born from a race car. 9k redline, little sound insulation, race engine born in Flacht, and holds value better than any standard 911 you could buy. the roads will be littered in 992s shortly, not so with GT3s!
westpalmdoc you've hit the nail on the head 👍
Great video Roger. As for deciding between the 992 Carrera S/4S and the 991.2 GT3? The 992 GT3 will probably get a naturally aspirated engine (hearing the sound from videos of test mules) but I think you should make the most out of experiencing the high revving naturally aspirated engine whilst its here. The 992 Carrera S/4S will definitely depreciate significantly more than the 991.2 GT3 too. Would be curious to see which gearbox choice you'll go for. Personally, I'd go for the GT3 Touring as it retains that iconic silhouette whilst having that sensational engine.
smilepermile thanks for taking the time to share your views, i think you’ve nailed it, I’ll drive a 992 very soon however this GT3 feels very special indeed, as for ‘box - that’s a tough one, pdk probably
A GT3 Touring would be even more perfect than a “standard” GT3 with the wing, but as they are more understated it means owners tended to opt for understated colours too so I suspect it would be very tough to find one in that wonderful Miami Blue and they also are currently fetching closer to £200K, assuming you can find one for sale!! That test car therefore becomes a very, very tempting prospect!! Maybe you should test drive a GT3 RS Roger to see how that compares!!
I think you know the answer to that. Hands down the GT3. Peak GT car for me. The real question is that GT3 or the GT3RS? Real world use????
damn that's nice. i think i'll drop by my local dealer and ask for the keys to a gt3 as well. brb
let us know
That single track must be the fabled ‘private road’
Yes of course yo7 can go around a track just leave the £159,000 deposit
I own this GT3 in carmine red. It is no way a daily car. Yes it can be used daily but it’s too much hassle that you only crave when ur free on the weekends and the weather permits it. Oh and might i add that this car has extremely high blood pressure and that when you get out from driving it you have adrenaline pumping rapidly through your veins and feel out of breath. That is all folks.
Gt3.
Great review, but there are no parking sensors on the gt
cheers and correct about p sensors
yep
So easy Chester and I live behind M&S so I recognise all the roads 😂😂😂
nice place to live, handy for the shops
GT3 100% sure this is a Beast on the road!
Buy one Roger, you won’t regret it.
A GT3 with a manual for sure! Some day for me.
GT3 all the way
The only color I like more is Gulf Blue
GT3 now. 992 later..
It’s not £159,000 though. The dealers buy them up and then resell them to customers for a lot lot lot more….
😂😂😂😂great review
thanks
Buy the GT3, not the 992.
limulus61 straight forward advice, thanks 👍
@@RogerBaileyOnCarsThe other thing is there will soon be thousands of 992s. You will have lots of opportunities to buy a 992. I myself am on a list to get a new GT4 but I only want it if I can get PDK. I'm weird like that. I'm already disappointed that the 4.0 is likely not going to be in the GT4.
992 looks like it is overweight, the essence of the old 911 has always been a light weight small driving car.
Shah Alam I hope to drive a 992 soon, need to find out
That tyre shine 🤮
Can’t imagine my local porsche dealership being so obliging!
No harm in asking Kevin :-)
Can i get the keys 😂😂😂😂
try asking
Couple of comments. One is, don't get a Carrera if you are considering a GT3. The GT3, as you said, is the race car you can drive on the street. That one idea is not in the Carrera line, so those cars don't compete and you'll be disappointed if you end up on the wrong side of the decision. I note that you said in another video you sold your GTS so... GT3 or nothing for you. Second - with Brexit, you can tell those mainland socialists what to do with their nanny laws and Brits will have the freedom to buy cars that suit them. Always choose liberty of tyranny, world history is clear on this point. Good luck.
Nice motor, god awfull color
its like driving around in a travelers new born baby boy's crib
Music sucks! For future references.
The 911 GT3 is a good value. This color is my absolute favorite
Gt3.
