And they'll release a Zelda movie where Link is a dentist from Jersey City looking for his estranged daughter who was captured by Moblins who look like green humans because she's actually the Princess Zelda who has a tattoo on her neck of the Triforce, an ancient symbol of her family, now overthrown by the treacherous Ganondorf (Jack Black), a wizard who broke through from our reality in the 1980's. Also Tingle is a punching bag because if people hated him before, don't worry loyal fans, so do we!
The problem is that it’s not just the visuals. It’s that the entire thing is cynical and shows no love for Minecraft. It’s too late to fix what’s ACTUALLY wrong. A Minecraft isekai isn’t the problem, the problem is that this thing just thinks Minecraft is stupid and is an object of derision and that its actual target audience doesn’t matter.
Too be honest when you say that, I’m glad the movie looks ugly. Imagine if we got an absolutely gorgeous Minecraft movie. Only for it to be wasted on a generic cynical kid’s movie. At least now we rip the bandage off early.
This comment describes exactly how I've been feeling about this movie. Jared simply does not understand Minecraft or why it would appeal to anyone, and the entire project suffers as a result. We need more film adaptations directed by people who understand and respect what it is they're adapting to the big screen.
Not quite. The Jumanji sequels created a reality tied to the story of the board game based original movie, gave them RPG rules and stuck people who didn’t want to be in there in it with the intent of leaving. This movie depicts a Minecraft themed reality as a bad thing, shows someone who has been there a while and a group of individuals who have intentionally gone into it with no prior knowledge, but they don’t have to follow the rules of Minecraft, instead they’re learning the rules of it.
Nope. They are just mixing all the different Minecraft universes that they have and made it its own thing just for the movie. Dungeon's, vanilla, legends, they are taking from all of them.
@@JuhoSprite nah mainly legends, literally the villain from legends is in this (the seer guy), and the main villains are piglins trying to evade the overworked, just like legends.
@@JuhoSprite Aren't they all on the same timeline?(stuff from Legends appears in Vanilla, implying that it took place in the past; dunno whether Dungeons is the in-between or the far future, though I believe in the latter)
Perfect analogy. Especially since the director did love the franchise, and the higher up probably forced him to step on the shit before the backlash. And only then he can get rid of the shit and fix the movie.
The game itself literally does this though with the End Poem, and it's been a running theme in fan works for years to include references to it being a game like the world being a server and talking about mojang staff as if they're religious figures.. It's kind of like Undertale in a way, and I personally like this style of Meta storytelling.
@@comicserif9283 majority of the playerbase doesnt read that poem, nor really take it into any consideration. what people go to play minecraft for is to let their creativity run wild, be it vanilla or modded, single or multiplayer. This movie trailer doesnt really convey the idea of "just do what you want, make your own story!"
@@fusionwing4208 That's just my point, I think that's a shame because the end poem is a beautiful piece of writing for different reasons. And I disagree about the trailer not conveying the themes of creativity and carving your own story, that's probably just what Steve did, to better or worse effect. We don't have a lot of plot details yet but I like the idea people have been theorizing that in letting his ambitions go wild seeing the world as his oyster he did something to start the conflict with the Piglins and now has to teach the new characters to learn from his mistakes and make a better story as they help him to fix what he's done to muddy his own.
@comicserif9283 you see that whole last point is a problem itself. Create your own story literally means "do whatever you want". Thats what minecraft is all about, true creative freedom. The poem is a good poem, ill agree to that, but my point is that its not at all relevant, people dont care about it because the game itself is what they care about, not some well written piece. Minecraft is a rare case of no story or meaning is actually a good thing.
There are 2 things that i would have liked to see in a Minecraft movie 1. A light existential horror where the main character tries to figure out what is happening and what to do with their life 2. Fallen kingdom
@@militor_207 i feel like they will 100% say that in an attempt to bring peoples opinion back but they will say it in such a cringe one liner way that nobody will like it.
Ugly Sonic being transformed into what we see today in the Sonic films was a decision made at the very last minute they could, probably fueled by a dozen sleepless nights, and is partially the reason why you see zero merch of the film. They spent a whole lot of budget on making Sonic actually look like Sonic the Hedgehog instead of a bipedal rat wearing a Sonic costume, that left almost nothing for anything else. But the Minecraft movie will need a lot more than changes to the characters. Nah, they're going to have to remake the ENTIRE movie. That is probably not going to happen.
@@Mike-mf3edIt's specifically the animation studio that got closed down, I don't remember the studio name. Unclear imo if it's because of the Sonic itself, or if it was always going to close down but Sonic was just so happen to be their final project.
Don't forget that apparently they already made merch using the Ugly Sonic model. I don't think they can waste another budget to make new merch after that disaster
I think this movie could've learned A LOT from Lego Movie, which on the surface, is the most idiotic idea anyone could've ever thought of, but in execution, captures the magic that is playing with legos almost perfectly.
It also does a good job contrasting the themes. Some view Legos as just a figurine collections and nothing else. And lord business embodies that. While the master builders symbolize the creative spirit of what Lego can be about. Also the fact the characters that exist and the fact it was STOP MOTION. shows their was actual passion put into it.
Contrary to popular belief, The Lego Movie was not created with stop-motion. It was computer animation with a lowered frame rate to create the illusion of stop motion, and they did a damn good job at it.
"We want to avoid an ugly sonic situation" We want to avoid a situation wherein we make a mistake, the fanbase reacts poorly, we fix the part where we hollyweirded all over the property, and the fans love us and we have a successful franchise.
That’s exactly what I was thinking 😭 the ugly sonic situation was one of the best things that happened to movies, especially animated ones, in the longest time
Fixing the Sonic movie was two simple steps: fix the design, maybe change a line of dialog here or there. Fixing the Minecraft movie also only requires two simple steps: start from scratch, fire everyone who made this the first time. Easy. Edit: except for the animators. I have no doubt in my mind that they were just doing that they were told
Not only that, but it should’ve been a fully animated film… Live Action just really doesn’t fit the world of Minecraft since it’s always intended to be blocky. This movie from the environments look okay, until it shows the Pink sheep, and every other living creatures in them…
It still angers me that Hollywood’s default when making video game movies is “real people get isekai’d to video game world”. Not only is it lazy, it’s completely disrespectful to the source material.
It’s to have a “fish out of water” character, which doesn’t understand anything so they are a stand-in for the audience whom other characters can rant exposition at
The only other video game movies I can think of that fit that description are Jumanji, (which wasn’t even based on a real video game) and sorta the Mario movie, which was creating an origin story by adapting parts of the source material. (Mario being from Brooklyn wasn’t original to the film). But even that wasn’t about a real world person being pulled into a video game, more a video game character from a world somewhat similar to ours getting introduced to the franchise’s fantastical lore. Don't call those movies lazy; they're far from it
@@hunterlawrence3573I swear in one of those old Mario cartoons Mario actually WAS from brooklyn, yes alternate reality brooklyn. But still brooklyn. So Mario movie at least respected the source material. This... Thing. Just uses a recycled plot, trash costumes, a story borrowed by MC legends, and the visuals are fiiine. But cmon now, if YT beats hollywood, we have a big problem.
@@CatLover-lk9gz Exactly! It's like they wanted to recreate the success of Jumanji, the Mario movie, and Sonic by combining the three of them, without actually looking at why those movies were popular. Jumanji was good because it used a fictional video game to tell its own story. Mario was good because it was an adaptation of video games that was respectful to the source material. This...looks like a parody of both of those.
I bet the people in charge of this movie have never even played the game. They try to frame it as a “silly goofy” thing or whatever but that’s just never what Minecraft was. Yeah it’ll have its silly goofy moments but Minecraft in itself is supposed to be about survival, creativity, and so much more. All the Minecraft movie is going to do is dumb it down and make it cringe to play Minecraft again.

Star Wars prequel mindset. Just because it keeps getting worse doesn't mean previous iterations of media were without their flaws. Certainly no masterpiece, that's reactionary hyperbole.
I watched Game Theory regarding the lore they discovered about the environmental story telling in Minecraft, essentially it's something about an ancient civilization of builders who fell apart and tried finding places to call home. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as much and a lot of them ended up becoming the Endermen when trying to live in The End
@@taluca8474 Their theories about Minecraft's story are purely speculative. The environmental storytelling we do receive doesn't prove that any of that ever happened. The minecraft movie was always going to be either a masterpiece or slop, depending on how much time it had. It probably switched back and forth over the last 10 years between the two several times. A masterpiece would have focused on the beauty of transitioning focus from basic necessities and survival to art and luxuries. A movie that captured how Minecraft can maximize human creativity and need for greater purpose could have been a masterpiece. This is clearly not that. It fails not just as a movie, but at its core it misunderstands the source material.
Why does it have to be a masterpiece or slop? Why not make it like Mortal Kombat the movie? It was no masterpiece, but it was a good adaptation and respected the games

I think theres miscommunication between the propery holders and the script writers. Mojang has said that they do not want Minecraft to have "A story". As in, they dont want a through line narrative that overshadows individual narratives. Minecraft tries to emphasize individual and unique stories crafted by individuals. The "grand" feeling you get from Minecraft isnt from any 1 narrative, rather its from thinking about the collection of narratives made independently that build the games culture. The issue is the human actors. They dont fit in at all, to the point where I wonder if this was actually what they originally planned. Jack is the only actor anyone cares to see, and even then people are iffy about his look. If they would make the main characters CGI block avatars, and if they could NOT reference the whole "Im in a digital world right now" situation so directly then it would be PERFECT.
Jack Black is fine but not as Steve. Worst part is that he doesn't even try to play Steve, it's just Jack Black in a blue sweater. He looks like himself and acts like himself.
Might be unpopular, but i do kind of enjoy the idea of steve being like robin William in the first jumanji, a guy thats been stuck in the game for way too long and has gone a bit unhinged as a result. If they did make the whole movie in Cgi, id still want them to mix in jack black beard and general look into steve appearance for that reason.
@@stargazer162 Here's the thing. How do you even try to play Steve? Steve has 0 characteristics beyond blue shirt. The reality is including Steve and Alex *at all* was a mistake.
The difference is that the creators of the Sonic movie listened to criticism, admitted they messed up and FIXED it. The creators of the Minecraft movie are fully aware that the movie is garbage, but they don't care because in their minds, kids are too dumb to deserve better.
Not only is this movie a insult to minecraft, it's also a insult to the audience it is trying to target, children aren't dumb when it comes to a movie's quality, if they are the age where you can even process what "movie" means, then they can judge a movie's quality, the memory of bad movies fades, the memory of good movies remain, that's because the human mind can TELL when it's being fed utter slop and not a full course meal.
This really has nothing to do with being "For kids" vs for adults/everyone though.. It's more just a case of hardcore fans who've been following the extended media vs casual ones who haven't. See my other comment here for more on that. /watch?v=P6AR7WSPsNA&lc=Ugwk1O6cs8NGfsfX42d4AaABAg

The "It could of happened any where else" is a telling problem. @@Tigersight0 For the most part, though even in that case Alice in Wonderland was a bit more interesting due to the chaotic way Wonderland worked, aka basically everything was reversed of normal logic. Most these animated cross overs with the real world dumb down the cartoon/fantasy aspects. I am more than happy to accept an "IRL people end up in the world of Minecraft" scenario, but they should still also be transformed to fit the aesthetic. And doing it should be so that there is a viewpoint for which to justify teaching people how the world functions.
I would also like this! But I'd love to have some players familiar with the game, guiding some people who are new to it. They build a settlement and live peacefully, some people get really into redstone, some people collect all the animals, someone who's OP as hell and just wants to fight everything, and we get some cute moments! I'd love a movie that'd focus on the wonder that a new Minecraft world inspires, on the creativity or survival skills that matter to the game. It'd be an exploration of the people they could become thanks to the Minecraft world
@franziska9260 That is an option, though the more information they have on hand the less they have to learn through discovery. Even knowing about the End would put them on a specific path instead of general exploration and creative building. Whether or not they can respawn must also be accounted for, since the various dangers of the world could become downright horrifying for characters with no understanding of how to deal with them.
honestly if they were transformed into player avatars version of themselves. it would have meant that this movie's minecraft dimension has enough rules to transform anyone that ends up in the dimension. This live action Bs is not it! but i may give it a chance anyway.
There's so many things went wrong with the direction. It's like the movie has more runtime than the Director ever played Minecraft, and then bully Jack Black for actually playing it with Pewdiepie. If they want to have Steve entrance bombastic with the entire Garbage Man group in a rush, then make him appear after the explosion of a Desert Temple and not stone towers. If they want to make a Creeper scene "he's right behind me" then do it while Garrett is mining iron because not only it put him at stake, but also the iron ingot loot might disappear in explosion. If they need a visual gag then just make the joke of a desert, jungle, and ocean in Minecraft can be tiny with a perilous travel montage. If they need the piglins to be hostile then you need to make Steve show his stolen Bastion gold. If they need crafting then show the actual recipe and proper items. If they want a Jumanji type of movie then you need to put everyone through their worst of Minecraft with just normal mobs so they want to go home. If they want to show the weirdest of Minecraft animals then just show the Mooshrooms and oversized Bee for a gag.
I wanted it to be about Steve and Alex waking up in Minecraft one day and their story about how they became friends and conquered the Minecraft world and beat the ender dragon
Fully convinced that they weren't doing anything with the movie for years and just said it was "in development" so they could use it as a plan B for when they weren't doing well financially
0:58 Oh my gosh thats super dumb plot for a minecraft movie aka Minecraft has infinite time there is no goal besides killing the enderdragon but after that u can do whatever u want in minecraft or even before killing the enderdragon & whoever made this movie doesnt even play or learn of minecraft they are even mashing it with Minecraft Legends & other Mods which doesnt make sense why cant they just use Vanilla Minecraft for once
Because Legends, in a way, IS "Vanilla" Minecraft. So are Dungeons, The Novels, and every other piece of official Mojang Minecraft media. This movie is pulling plot elements from the entire franchise as a whole and as a long time lore nerd myself, I couldn't be more excited for that.
Is probably Mojang (not Hollywood)try to push the other Minecraft games foward Is weird right, you have the best selling game and you can't even reach a close popularity with the other games, and you decided to push the side games foward, the ones that people didn't like because was not even bad Minecraft game, but just a bad game
@@comicserif9283if you make a minecraft movie you base it off the one that is the best selling game of all time, not the spinoffs that only have one good game.
Tbh I feel like they nailed the piglins design. They look blocky, but realistic without feeling uncanny. They are ugly, but as (probably) the main villains of the story, it's fine. They're ugly in a warranted way, and not in a "we really messed up the design" way.
The other thing is that ugly Sonic was easy to fix since he was just one character model, this would be borderline impossible to fix since you'd basically have to throw the entire movie into the dumpster.
It's not feasible to fix this film, because they would have to start over from scratch. It's worst trait is it's very premise (a live action isekai adventure just doesn't work for Minecraft).
It’s as if the creators can’t comprehend possibly having a videogame’s plot start in the world of the game and instead it has to take place with our world and people who have no idea what they’re doing and don’t belong in the franchise For some reason, despite being an established franchise and world, we aren’t allowed to start the movie with a character that knows how their world is supposed to operate
Besides, wasn’t the story originally gonna revolve around a young girl trying to protect her world from the Ender Dragon? Cuz if so…. WE WERE FXXXING ROBBED!!!!!
probably were but then Jack black was like "no, I don't know how to act in that kind of movie, just make it a jumanji film cause I'm too old and out of touch to try something new" so now we got what we got.
"The malevolent Ender Dragon sets out on a path of destruction, prompting a young girl and her group of unlikely adventurers to set out to save the Overworld." - IMDB It's not like this is a genius storyline, but it's a thousand times better than whatever Jumanji ripoff slop we got
I feel like the people working on this movie were huge Story Mode fans who were so annoyed about how much people dissed on Story mode, that they made something so disgraceful to the IP that people couldn't help but retroactively praise Story Mode.
"OMG what if real life people found themselves lost in a FICTIONAL WORLD? Such an original idea, definitely hasn't been done before" But srsly I agree with you to the fullest. The thing above is just a cheap trope used for videogame movies. "You need to learn how to face the real world and bla bla bla" But minecraft isn't a place you'd like to leave the first moment you boot up the game. It's not an escapism. It's a canvas, where even not so creative people can express themselves. If I were to think about the plot right here on the spot, I'd say something akin to the Minecraft: Island book, maybe with journey to the farlands. Because ultimately, minecraft isn't about stopping some great evil. It's about exploring, learning about yourself Mining and crafting
I couldn't put into words what I felt about this trailer and I've been trying to think about it for a pretty long time. I kept saying to myself this doesn't feel like Minecraft. It doesn't matter the mobs, style, Or heck even Jack Black, It doesn't feel like Minecraft. And when you were talking about this it then dawned on me why I felt this way. I play Minecraft all the time with my friend or my brother. We usually have our own stories in our worlds. But this doesn't feel like that. And I proposed one of the story changes that could have made this better but still have Jack, Black and other live-action characters. I had the idea that what if Jack Black plays a dad. And some of the live-action people are his kids. Jason Momoa could be that grumpy uncle that actually has fun with the game. Probably more fun than the kids do! Haha! But as they play together, they start to make up their own story and the reason their life action is because they're literally inserting themselves into the game. Kids use their imaginations even within video games. Heck I even thought of the "I... am Steve!" line as Jack Black trying to be that whimsical dad but it's makes his kids go "Oh my gosh please you're soooo embarrassing! You're so cringe!!" Because that's how kids sometimes are. But the idea of a dad and his kids bonding and making up this Grand Adventure as they go along in this Minecraft world seems like such a fun idea to me. Because that's exactly what I do at times too.
There's this Minecraft fanbook I read over 6 or so years ago called 'The Elementia Chronicles' it's has a very interesting way of telling its story, and I think I still have my copies somewhere in my house. Now I'll say that its been years so I'm unsre if this is correct or not but, the story tells the characters how they would be in-game, best way I can describe it as is Minecraft Story Mode in a book. But it also has elements of the outside world like how characters mention the world as 'the server' or how one of them got banned and is hacking their way in, but its still being told in the perspective of the in-game player characters. That's when I realized the way they act and how the author portrays the story is that the players are roleplaying in a server in the perspective of the in-game players. It's hard to get my point across and I'm not really how to but I feel like they could've done soemthing similar, where its shown in an animated in-game perspective most of the time and its basically how the players in the real world imagines it, and occasionally shows the real players in the real world as we know more of them or when the story necessitates it.

The opinion of the team behind this movie is that Minecraft is stupid, which is not the mindset you want when adapting a work. A Kingdom Hearts movie that treated the whole thing as a joke would not be a good movie, even though Kingdom Hearts is, in fact, immensely stupid.
With all this CGI, it could've just been animated...literally only the main characters are real people. This didn't need live action actors. It's kinda pointless for them to be there.
Literally the only problem with the Sonic movie was just the character design. The entire movie was made with love for the Sonic games in mind. If they didn't change the design, some fans probably would've pointed out how the movie still stayed true to Sonic's character if you ignored his looks (that would have been hard to do but still). The director also admitted that they messed up and fixed their mistake. The problem with the Minecraft movie here is that no one behind the movie actually cares about the game. I'm sure what the director meant by avoiding an Ugly Sonic situation was that they're going to avoid it by ignoring any and all criticism and releasing the film as is no matter how garbage and off putting it looks.
As someone who is a big fan of Sonic but doesn't know much about Minecraft... I think part of the reason why the Sonic movies have more interesting stories than the Minecraft movie is simply because the Sonic games have many interesting stories to pull from. Also, the characters themselves have strong personalities that are fun to work with. And like you said, Minecraft keeps its story very minimalistic aside from the spinoff games. That works fine for Minecraft as a video game, but trying to create a movie plot out of this minimalistic game is clearly a struggle.
I’m obviously not the first person to say this, but it’s clearly just trying to be Jumanji. Thing is, Jumanji created its own video game world for the characters to get lost in. It didn’t use a preexisting IP.
I think the people behind the movie have never even heard of The Matrix as that's what this movie feels like. You're in a simulation, except this time there is no cool, big guy to tell you that, and there are no OP agents constantly trying to _delete_ you.
I'll be honest, a minecraft movie dosn't even need to have voice actors. Sure if it's an Elemental Animation style animation then please give us voices, but the game as it is dosn't nor does need voice actors. Why would we even need voice actors in a world where everything is voiceless yet helds so much personnality! Silent yet highly expressive characters is what we needed.
They really just had to basically make "Minecraft Storymode: the Movie" and it would've been a fucking infinite money printer. They seemingly blew an absolutely massive budget on this (even just from the Beatles song in the trailer alone, do you KNOW how fucking hard it is to get the Beatles estate to sign off on using their music commercially?) only to produce just absolute trash that no one asked for.
**enters steve’s dungeon where jason momoa says kadoosh ** “this is my dungeon where i craft and mine…” “so what is this, some kind of minecraft dungeon?”
2:50 This is actually rather contradicting. Although Minecraft might be imagined as it's own immersing Universe, it does have message in itself wich depicts Minecraft as a lesser order one than the life we all live. A message that adrsses player as "the player" and depicts Minecraft as a yet another dream, you have to wake up from. The End Poem.
I think I would totally wear the jacket Jason Momoa wears, but he looks awful in it, and in general. As a nonbinary person with a few trans friends, we've joked that he looks like an offensive caricature of a trans person from an 80s cartoon. I don't think that's what they were going for, obviously, but I find it really unpleasant. I found the whole trailer really unpleasant, really
On the whole, "It's a story that could happen anywhere.", thing; yes. Welcome to Hollywood. 99% of plot outlines are basically a prewitten ad lib syle fill in the blank type of affairs. They just took a generic fish out of water in another world plot (which you might of notice is common in video game movies; they either fall into the game or the game falls into the real world; all depending on the budget).
also as bad as original sonic was, at the end of the day it was still mostly a live-action movie with CGI elements, meaning that though it was a daunting task there was only really _one_ thing to change. here... it's _everything._ everything's wrong. it's impossible to fix.
I loved all your points thank you so much for this video!! If you want a MC story that isn’t story mode or the movie I HEAVILY heavily suggest reading the book the island by max Brooks as it uses a similar plot set up to the film but ACTUALLY uses it correctly and explores the feeling of being in this world, esp because it takes place in single player thus it plays on some of the loneliness/mystery/horror MC occasionally dips its toes into, it takes the world seriously and doesn’t treat it like just “that thing my kids play” like the movie does, it tells a compelling story that doesn’t dumb itself down or feel the need to be self aware I JUST WANT MORE PPL TO CHECK IT OUT ITS JUST A VERY VERY GOOD MC BOOK LOL I LOVE IT A LOT IT HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART there are two other books in the series iirc but I’ve not checked them out bc they introduced multi player/new protags which I’m not as keen on/a little intimidated by BUT I do plan to eventually read them bc maybe I’ll be suprised lol! :3

A Minecraft isekai isn’t the problem, the problem is that this thing just thinks Minecraft is stupid and is an object of derision and that its actual target audience doesn’t matter.

Its literally a jumanji with Minecraft skin
And they managed to turn it into a bad Jumanji 😥
And jumanji is actually quite good itself 💀
Minecraft resourcepack
Don’t diss jumanji, other than the rock which is fine
The worst part about it is that this movie seems to be a Minecraft: Legends movie and not an actual Minecraft movie.
Nope. They are just mixing all the different Minecraft universes that they have and made it its own thing just for the movie. Dungeon's, vanilla, legends, they are taking from all of them.
It’s such a weird creative decision. This movie should not have taken 10 years to make.

It was also a tribute to decades of fan Lego films created using Stop Motion, even though The Lego Movie itself is CGI.

It’s to have a “fish out of water” character, which doesn’t understand anything so they are a stand-in for the audience whom other characters can rant exposition at
@@KHJohanLike the guy said, lazy.
The only other video game movies I can think of that fit that description are Jumanji, (which wasn’t even based on a real video game) and sorta the Mario movie, which was creating an origin story by adapting parts of the source material. (Mario being from Brooklyn wasn’t original to the film). The minecraft movie was always going to be either a masterpiece or slop, depending on how much time it had. It probably switched back and forth over the last 10 years between the two several times.

@franziska9260 That is an option, though the more information they have on hand the less they have to learn through discovery.

You're so cringe!!"
Because that's how kids sometimes are.
It's hard to get my point across and I'm not really how to but I feel like they could've done soemthing similar, where its shown in an animated in-game perspective most of the time and its basically how the players in the real world imagines it, and occasionally shows the real players in the real world as we know more of them or when the story necessitates it.
hey guys, just a reminder that if you want to REALLY make it clear that we don’t want/support this movie, don’t see it in theaters. Don’t give them your money for it. if your curiosity is that bad, maybe pirate it if you have to. but we can’t REWARD corporations with our money, or it will keep repeating. let’s prove them wrong about what kind of movies we want to see. 💙
WHO are these random people? Id be completely fine if they did a minecraft story mode, because that is actually good. But adding all these people, it ruins the simple feeling. What happened to alex?
I also cant take jack black in these movies. GET A NEW ACTOR!
This was the one of the few opportunities where a black/hispanic actor was required for the role. Jack Black was a fun actor for a while, but now he’s way overused
@@jeffdinvell Fr. Steve is not white, Neither is he round. And the beard? Hello? Are they even gonna color his hair or shave him to actually look like steve
Funny thing that's also how i felt about the telltale Minecraft game.
@@massgunner4152 Telltale did a good job. Minecraft movie is the same thing as every other new modern video game movie “Oh no we r stuck in a game!”
A Minecraft movie fumbled the water clutch by not bringing a bucket
The opinion of the team behind this movie is that Minecraft is stupid, which is not the mindset you want when adapting a work. A Kingdom Hearts movie that treated the whole thing as a joke would not be a good movie, even though Kingdom Hearts is, in fact, immensely stupid.
“Netflix, I ask you- No, I order you. Help us in this dire time of need.”
The moment I found out it would be CGI x Live Action was the moment I knew it'd be terrible
With all this CGI, it could've just been animated...literally only the main characters are real people. This didn't need live action actors. It's kinda pointless for them to be there.
Why does the plot description at 1:00 literally sound like it was written by chatgpt 😭
FOR REAL
How can you tell if an AI wrote it? Is there something to look for like with hands?
@@acemaster3339it sounds so generic and robotic basically, like everything written was pulled from an algorithm over an actual human being writing it
"Echoes of the past", "Shadows dancing on the walls", "Shadows lingering in the corners" 💀
We got what we've promised there's no sonic
That plot synopsis reads like someone just slapped the basic plot of the Lego movie into an isekai story.
That plot sounds AI generated.
Not to say it is, just to say these suits clearly lack the imagination they've commissioned a movie to be made about.
3:33 HEY DON'T DIS BLUES CLUES!
(also for paper mario... paper jam :)
The Minecraft movie so far is looking like an “ugly everything” situation.
"Minecraft story mode walked, so the Minecraft movie could trip and fall off a cliff." Not gonna lie that last line caught me off guard lol.
The only thing that can save this movie is the Hero Bryan plotwist
It's Jumanji all over again, but somehow much worse
They really just had to basically make "Minecraft Storymode: the Movie" and it would've been a fucking infinite money printer. They seemingly blew an absolutely massive budget on this (even just from the Beatles song in the trailer alone, do you KNOW how fucking hard it is to get the Beatles estate to sign off on using their music commercially?) only to produce just absolute trash that no one asked for.
Aww come onJason Momoa's fit isn't that bad it's pretty fun actually
If this Minecraft movie had been animated it could've been suspended in the air for a second before falling off that cliff ☹️
I would've been happy if it was just steve and alex in an animated world
**enters steve’s dungeon where jason momoa says kadoosh
**
“this is my dungeon where i craft and mine…”
“so what is this, some kind of minecraft dungeon?”
"say that again"
@@OrlandoTiquim “some… kind of?”
This movie will never be as good as Animation vs Minecraft.
Streaming community is the only way to watch it. You don't have to pay for soulless bad movies like this
I think I would totally wear the jacket Jason Momoa wears, but he looks awful in it, and in general.
No matter how bad it is, I think we all admit we gonna go see it in theaters 💀💀💀
“we want to avoid an ugly sonic situation”
then maybe you could’ve… idk… ANIMATED IT?
also as bad as original sonic was, at the end of the day it was still mostly a live-action movie with CGI elements, meaning that though it was a daunting task there was only really _one_ thing to change. here... it's _everything._ everything's wrong. it's impossible to fix.
Im so disappointed that they probably wont talk about any of the insane lore in minecraft
Honestly, they need to either cancel it completely or delay it by several years while they completely remake the story and visuals.
The only thing they did right was the actors.
"Can we fix it?"
"No, it's fucked!"
I miss the good old days man nowadays it’s just cash grab after Cash Grab bullshit it’s fucking stupid man
Can't believe that they spent 10 years on this movie, only to be generic, misunderstanding the source material and have uncanny visuals
Thank you. You’re the first person to actually get the main problem I have with this movie and put it into words that I myself could not express
