The mod looks very interesting. Question: Howcome the friendly bots aren't using the Engineer character model? Is it a technical issue? The current models don't look bad, but it would be nice to have the option to make them look like the player character. I've seen another mod that adds static blocks that look like Engineers, kind of like the dead Engineers from whichever DLC it was - exceptthe modded blocks don't look like corpses. Using that mod together with this could make one's base or ship look a bit more alive.
And that's why I despise Keen. They went for the money grab instead of giving us what we want. I'm also so fucking SICK of the argument "WELL IT'S ABOUT CREATING YOUR OWN ADVENTURE" . NO. FUCK OFF. For those of us who have been around since the game was released several years ago, they teased AI a long time ago. So the expectations have always been higher than what they've actually delivered. I might have over 1000 hours into this game, but it's because I play with the hope that they will add shit to this game that makes it fun and replayable. I want friendly NPCs to do various tasks, as well as enemy NPCs that will attack. The spiders are wolves were so worthless I never enabled them after I tried them once. 5 minutes with them and I realised how shit they were and how useless Keep has been when listening to the fans. I'll admit, lately the added some good stuff. But... THEY'RE ABOUT 5 YEARS LATE. Everything in the game now should have been in the game YEARS ago. Literally years ago. The fact this game is still going is 100% because of the modding community. I tried up until last night to play this game for years without mods, then stumbled upon this mod and gave it a try. It seems alright, but the repair bot seems kind of dumb. It does add a little something extra to the game though. I just wish it was part of the vanilla game. Make a game that modders have a hard time thinking of shit to add because it's already got a lot added to it already by the developers.
The first that I use this mod I remember my whole game being transformed. A few add-ons like the robot raiders and shipwrecks and various things like that have made the game so much more interesting to play. I have a combat bot that I have happily named Sgt Gear. Not only is he helped me in multiple fire fights but there's a feature that they don't tell you about. We loaded up in one of my ATVs and he will actually jump into a seat if you jump into a vehicle. As soon as we jumped in he grabbed a file from a music mod that I had and started playing fortunate son! I laughed so hard and he changed the track after it stopped! He's got a good taste in music going from fortunate son to ZZ top! One of the coolest mods that I have played with and I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to spice up their single player world!
Do you mind sharing a few of the mods you use? I really want to get into SE, but I worry about the loneliness in singleplayer turning me off before I can experience what it has to offer. Even NPC's standing around is enough for me sometimes lol.
@@dankujcreations yea man! So the ones that I typically stick to are this one as well as the other mods that this has. So with Modular Encounter Systems they have Raider Pods that drop and spawn 4 boys that'll attack you. Also stuff like abandoned shops on planets and such. On the Steam page for this mod they have a collection that works with this mod that's where you'll find the ones I'm taking about! I do think Exploration Enhancement mod might mess this up because I've been having issues with AI enabled after installing it.
I wish this game had an AI system like Kenshi that just let me space NPCs that help me to wield stuff or do other tasks while I just make the general design and layout, almost like a governor. Then I can just supervise them doing everything automated. It would be fun if I had to support their energy and oxygen needs too, that would make it interesting.
Just so people are aware, the robots Jack shows aren't using their default models. The models he used for the Welder is actually the default model dor the assault bot.
Friendly ones can but enemies cant because they don't have permissions but they will shoot that door. I was very surprised by the AI pathing they are able to navigate my entire frigate while flying in space. They can climb stairs, ladders and more.
I can't seem to find the AiEnabled mod. I found one with "Zombie " in the title, that says it works with AiEnabled mod, but I don't see the actual mod in the list.
this seems like a GREAT step into the NPC mods we can have to add immersion to this game. I can see these at neutral trade stations that react if you get hostile.. or they patrol with rovers. Which leads me to wishing the combat bot should be able to set coordinates for patrolling your outposts. My question though with all mods, does this one have any impact on resources if on a dedicated server? And can the bot builder make unlimited amounts or only one in existence at a time?
Not sure about dedicated but going off non-dedicated it seems very resource friendly ~ until you get 50+ in one area. Not sure on limitations on the friendly bots, I need to test it.
Question about changing the number of bots allowed. A screenshot on Steam Workshop, from the Dev shows maximum allowed bots as 100, from an admin controls section. I have the API for configuring the mod installed, but I can't access the admin section to adjust the number of allowed AIs. I'm in a creative world. Any idea what's wrong? I tried to add a comment on Steam asking the dev, but didn't see an option to add a new comment.
Nice explanation of the AIEnabled mod however for completeness you should have covered the materials necessary to build the bots. Personally, I cannot get this mod to work as the "Repair Bot" material for example always says "Items Missing" despite having all the items necessary in abundance.
That can make Space Engineers to a game. good job. that game also needs a deequipper block for passing guys- As next than something to put the jetpack down for a large inventory backpack. iam fucking waiting to mutch years for the future of Space engineers - mods arent a good otpion for that game at all - it just split the mind of the engineers for their isolation
The game always felt so lonely in single player and this helps that a lot!
Hey! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Awesome to see it well received
Seconded

Fans: PLEASE ADD NPCS TO THE GAME
Keen: MoRE dLC
Fans: (in Thanos voice) fine. I'll do it myself.

Hope Captain Jack adds these to Colony Alliances, especially the combat bot.
Awesome mod, so much less cheaty with the cost of the bots.
Oh my god it's here, i've been waiting for this! This is promising!

@@ethanbunch3274 Awesome I'll give a few of them a try. I usually stick to vanilla experience, but I'm excited to check them out. Thanks man
that pathing is really funny. quite literally just a rise over run 😂

Nice review 👍 thanks
@David, Yep they can open doors for themselves. This is a great mod, I've been using it since release.
Just so people are aware, the robots Jack shows aren't using their default models. The models he used for the Welder is actually the default model dor the assault bot.
Question about both friendly and enemy NPC versions: Are they able to operate doors?
Custom doors? As far as I know they cannot.
But door blocks are no issue at all.
They open vanilla doors

Dude is anyone having the problem where the spawn blocks aren’t in their inventory?
I have this mod and I can build only 2 helpers is possible to build more of them ?
Does this work on xbox
How to change their skin?
How well do he bots work in a active ship?
About time!
How do i get it on xbox
"Enter a faction and try again" wtf is that supposed to even mean? There isn't a faction option in the robo factory?
Nice explanation of the AIEnabled mod however for completeness you should have covered the materials necessary to build the bots. Personally, I cannot get this mod to work as the "Repair Bot" material for example always says "Items Missing" despite having all the items necessary in abundance.
Quit killing Bob !!!...... LOL
Now we just need some new Space Pirate NPC skins. The stock hostile look is kind of boring.
I hope this is in console edition
Why only one at a time wtf that's kind of useless
It's beta testing the hope is 10 per player
Oh nooo bob!!!

Can't wait for a mod to skin it to a sexy fembot. haha!
