Building A Bedroom For My Dog-WITH A.C.! | Fixed ZeroBreeze Mark II Installation | Van Build Ep. 4

- Hi friends!! Thanks for coming back to the build, or if it’s your first time here- welcome!! Teller and I finished some big projects on the van build and we are so excited to show you! ☺️
In this episode, I take on building Teller’s doggy-bedroom underneath my fixed bed. I wanted to create a cozy space for Tellie that is comfortable and keeps him safe. I knew I needed to include an air conditioner that can target cool his space, and the ZeroBreeze Mark II turned out to be the perfect solution! I installed it permanently/fixed in the back of my van, and vented it out the side, so it is always ready to go. I can leave the AC running to keep Teller cool when I need to leave the van, and I don’t have to have any windows cracked & risk break ins. Teller will stay nice and cool with both the ZeroBreeze & my MaxAir fans running.
As an added safety tool, I installed my Waggle Pet Monitor inside his bedroom, as well! The Waggle monitors the temperature and sends me text alerts in real-time if the temperate goes outside of my set thresholds. If the ZeroBreeze AC stops working for any reason, my Waggle will alert me of the rising temps and I can get back to the van ASAP. Having both of these devices (and my roof fans) gives me so much peace of mind for Teller’s safety!!

I love Tellers little room! I am always so amazed by people whose dogs like to sleep in crates and dog-caves. (Because: practical / cute) My dogs are like: we kindly decline 😂 We even did the whole crate training and everything. My one dog slept in a crate for his entire puppyhood! It's nuts, where are all those cave-sleeping instincts at!?!? With the second dog we just didn't even bother. They are both fans of sleeping on cold hard tile floors. I swear in winter I wake up nights to put little blankets on them it's that hard to watch 😂😭But they prefer it. But yay for Teller living his best life with a tiny room of his own!

I have followed you since your van build and have enjoyed your videos (and art work) but as a huge fan of dogs I was so impressed the you built Teller an air conditioned spot in the van. I have two pomeranians and was thinking the other day I wish I had an air conditioned crate for them in my car. truely lovely Milo - as always, everything you make is a work of Art in itself. Teller is one lucky guy! I hope the zero breeze does not give him an earinfection or pneumonia, as it is cold air so closeby... . But I am sure you know what you are doing. PS have you considered something like a waterbottle that acivates when he licks it, so he can have a drink in there too? Looking forward to the endresult of your amazing project!! Greetz, Jason
That is definitely on my radar, yes! luckily the cold air tube can be extended and bent to have the cold air pointed upward so it's not blowing directly in his face. The ZB also has just a fan setting without turning on the condenser, so a lot of the time it will be used just to keep air flow going in his room :) It's something I will need to experiment with, but I never plan to keep him confined to his room with the AC going, so he can always move to another part of the van if he gets too cold!
And yes, you read my mind! I am going to get him one of those spill-proof water bowls :)

I was wondering how the AC is working out for you and Teller, im over in Scotland and building my new van, looking to install a dog bed under the actual bed, closed off very similar to you with a Zero Breeze, I wondered if you were running the AC off of 12v? i see the power brick on your install and wondered if you'd used the Zero Breeze 12v to 24v converter to go straight into your power supply

And I discovered Teller through an adoption post in a Facebook group about Australian Shepherds that I was in. I joined the group when I got my first Aussie years ago, and so it was just chance/fate that I saw Teller’s adoption post at the same time I was considering getting another dog after becoming newly-dogless. We found each other at just the right time ❤️
