Wells Fargo is trying to take my 89 year - old father home, went to court February 14th 2024, proved with papers that my father does not owe Wells Fargo anything, they dropped the case, when they saw the papers our attorney showed to the judge, now they're trying to take it to Federal Court. Lawyers State how can, Wells Fargo do that it's not a crime. I thank this young lady for speaking out. Pray for my father, that Justice be served, against Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo is awful, they escrow to pay my homeowners insurance even I have my home insurance. They never refund it back at the end of the year during tax returns. It means I have to pay insurance double to cover my home. They owe me thousands and I never get it. Bad bank!

@@stephansmith4840The absence of a brick and mortar location tells me nothing. One of the biggest and best banks for military and veterans (USAA) literally has one brick and mortar location that is located in San Antonio, Texas. But they serve their patrons worldwide and have one of the best overall rankings for financial institutions. And the location in San Antonio - I don’t think it’s even a customer service office. I think it’s a corporate office.

I made a $2000 deposit to B of A and two weeks later my mortgage, car and insurance payments bounced. I phoned and they told me there was no sign of the deposit and go to the branch I used. So I went with my deposit slip and asked for the manager. She basically said too bad. She wouldn’t check or do anything. So I raised my voice so everyone in line could hear and announced I was phoning 911 to report a bank robbery as the Bank had robbed me of $2000. At that point she went, researched it an found it was deposited into the wrong account. I had to insist she rectify it on the spot and write 3 letters for my accounts stating it was a bank error and reverse the bounce fees. I had to threaten her to do this. B of A is the worst.

I walked into (Bank of America) and went up to the teller.
I asked if they could change a $100 bill for me into 20's. I was immediately told no. And that I had to have an account for them to do that.
This goes to show you how shytty the banks are. A person should be able to walk into any bank and be able to change a large bill into small bill, because its a bank.
They should not tell people that they need an account just to change a large bill.
Another situation were I was in another state years before, and the same thing happened but with (Chase Bank). I was told that because I presented an ID that was not from the state,
and that it was from a different state, they could not change my $100 bill into smaller denomination to pay for gas. When I started to ask why and question them about it.
They called the cops on me. Mind you I was not disruptive in any way, all I did was ask why they could not just change the bill and why they are not accepting the ID thats from my state DMV.
Cops told me to leave. I was then given a ticket of $250 for disturbing the peace in california.
DO NOT do business with Chase or Bank of America.

They even got pay in 4, whereas if you purchase something for $200 or whatever it cost, they break it into 4 monthly payments to help the low income people survive. It started that I had to use the debit card to charge $ 500 each month. No problem as Food is more than that. Now it is use the card 10 times a month. I seldom go to places to use a card more than 4 or 5 times a month. Looks like I will have to do things like put in a few dollars of gas at a time instead of filling up. Being retired I do not usually use a tank of gas more than once or twice a month. I really like to use a credit card that gives me back 1 1/2 % for most things.

That was a good video. I'm sure that this will help a lot of folks. I'm a retired bank examiner and I can tell you that you're right on the money with your assessment of Wells Fargo. I won't go into it, but there are many more examples of policies that WF has that do not favor their customers.
Justine, you might consider offering a similar type of video on credit unions. If you're still in San Diego you're close to the largest credit union in the entire country, the U.S. Navy Federal Credit Union. Credit unions are owned by the members and don't pay federal taxes. Banks hate that. Another benefit to members of credit unions is that they charge a minimum in the way of fees, all fees. When it comes to interest, they pay a higher interest rate on all investment vehicles than banks. Oh, and while federally chartered banks are FDIC insured against loss, credit unions have the NCUA which also protects members from loss. I encourage you to take a look and share your findings. Good luck.

I left those banks years ago. I only bank with Federal Credit Unions. At a FCU your a member instead of a customer. You also get interest added to your checking and savings accounts. You're never charged a monthly fee of any kind, unless your enrolled in a power protect checking account.

For nearly 40 years now, I have been doing business with credit unions, and I have never been happier. They know me, and I know them. Plus, I attend yearly membership meetings to be in the know about coming products and services.
I suppose you could say that I saw it (the ridiculous fees and policies) coming, and that's why I bailed on banks and have nothing but credit unions.

You breezed right through the $500 direct deposit within the statement cycle to waive the service fee on the Total checking. If you have the $500 deposit, you don’t have any minimum balance to meet. No other requirement to waive the fee. The other options are completely separate ways the fees can be waived.

I use US Bank and my savings account gets an abysmal 0.01% interest rate. They promoted their elite money market account to get 3.5%. I’m not a fan of opening up new accounts just to chase an interest rate but this was an in-house thing so I decided to open up an account. I got that rate for a month and then it dropped to 0.25%. When I called them, they basically said their promotion is only good for about 30 days although they never tell you in the fine print that it is a promotional time only and will revert to a quarter of one percent after a month. They are now promoting 4% but people have no idea it’s only for a month or so. It’s a very shady practice.

I pulled my IRA account from US Bank because their customer service was deplorable. I used to have State Farm Bank. I could do electronic transfers to my bank here in the country. Never charge me a service fee either. They sold their account to US Bank. What a flaming nightmare!!! They informed me that electronic transfers were illegal. State Farm did that for me for over 15 years. If you did need to make a withdrawal the paperwork was purposely difficult. I once sent in the paperwork and waited for my paper check in the mail. After three weeks I called them to find out when the check was mailed. Seems there was an error on the request and no one bothered to call me. They didn't send me my money. They were holding it hostage. I had my brother fax them a replacement form that day. I then waited seven weeks and finally got a check. I transferred it to my local bank giving me 5% interest. I was told once that If I needed my money in a hurry I could go to their nearest branch and have a check cut for me on the spot. I am in the toes of the Catskills New York State. Their nearest branch to me was in Ohio. Needless to say, I will never give them a good word. The worst in my experience.

All of these fees are sheer greed and are even more insulting at a time when most Average Americans do not have $400 to meet a medical or other emergency. 50 years ago when I moved to NYC, stores like Macy's or Bloomingdales did not use those new thingies VISA or Master Card. Each store issued it's own charge accounts. Once I got my B.Altman card, every other 5th Avenue department store said yes, and in turn, all other department stores granted me a card. (Saks was brown, Bergdof was lilac) You could go to a window with your bill, and "work" out any problems with a real person. I'll pay the rest on Friday when I get my check. "No problem, I understand. I'll make a note." And so it went. No yelling. No rudeness. As soon as Master Card went "public" these stores began accepting them for payment. As Visa and MC became more ubiquitous, the Department Stores began "quiet quitting" personal accounts. The new hurdle was a requirement that they would only accept Visa or MC above a certain amount. Eventually, Congress said, no more requirement, you can now charge your candy bar. And women have been buying candy that way ever since, plus the large Coke and small chips. 29% interest.

Walmart is a major retailer and they do own a bank. In this case Green Dot bank. That is what underwrites their prepaid debit cards and handles all of their Visa and Mastercard processing so they don't have to pay fees. I did use their prepaid debit option for a while, but the account kept getting compromised so I dropped it.
