Another case of weird Anime localization shenanigans, huh?
Hey, Amir. Been some years since we talked so I decided to come and say hi by commenting on the weird localization (Not that any localization isn’t weird).
“愚物語＆撫物語” is Orokamonogatari and Nademonogatari, which means Fool Story and Exorcism Doll Story, if we’re translating it literally. Seems like there’s some weird Magical Girl stuff going on, but it’s Monogatari so I can’t figure much out either way since its Japanese is one of the hardest in Japanese pop-literature; not to mention, the word-plays and puns are physically and metaphorically impossible to translate since it’s very Japanese.
But yeah, Monogatari being the weird Monogatari we love, as always; but now, we have Magical Girls lol.
