Yup, not a soffit, just a closet that may be framed out around the door frame to give it a "cleaner" aesthetic. (i.e. what Bionic9998 said)

That room with the washing machines it's by far my favorite. Having a gaming room looking completly different from anything the internet has already seen is an art in it's own, not even mentioning the art skill put in it.
I was thinking the same... The room out of these 5 that stood out, was the washing machine room. Something different and yet so nicely setup and designed. Ohh, and the washer + dryer we see, are some good ones too that can hold up quite the amount of clothes. :D My 2nd favorite was of course the "stream arcade dungeon". It looked so neat and spacious. The rest is, as you said, what we've seen before. That said, kudos to those who've put time and effort creating those setups!
The soffits are probably just closets with the doors taken out and decorated to fit the theme. The room with the large full length one looks like a master bedroom with a full length closet. They just removed the many doors and made the most of the extra space. No need for a closet in your stream room

Definitely closet spaces converted. I use my small one behind my desk for my cat tree. My cats don't seem to like leaving the gaming pc alone without it.😂

For room 4, it looks like they converted the closet to create that recessed, pushed back look. Super creative.
Toe's setup is something similar to what I want to build. Precise, single colour and chill. Fantastic.

The COD zombies shrine in #4 was my absolute favorite part. I just saw the chalk outline on the brick wall and then all of a sudden noticed there was a whole display!

As cool as that laundry setup is, I can only imagine the nightmare of dust, lint, and moisture accumulating there. And imagine if that washer springs a leak, how much potential damage to everything that might happen!

My master closet was my gaming space until it got too hot (not enough ventilation). Now my guest room is my gaming space.
Number 2.. @ 3:56 - that curved desk.. I need that in my life.. anyone know where to get / what that's called?!
So the bezel they have added to the couple of rooms is kind of easy, it's only 4 inches which is just the width of your studs, take down one side of the sheetrock frame around where you want and cut out the stud
Here before @HarrisHeller builds a soffit, or realizes that is just the closet without the doors on it.

I absolutely love Gothalion's set up. It's an aesthetician i would go for.
I still stand by keeping it simple with white, green and wood color. But I also have to do business work in there so I keep it simple lol
