The thing I enjoy about live streams is that we can see your mistakes, or rather, the many unpredictable ways that illustrator refuses to cooperate, and the ways you identify the problem and solve them. Those are things that are NEVER addressed in a tutorial. So thank you so much! ♥

I randomly came across this tutorial just now, and let me just share that it's so humbling to know that I come across the same hiccups that you do. I'll hit that perspective grid and scramble to figure out how to get rid of it. It's refreshing to watch someone else do logo work and explain every single move because back when I was learning Illustrator, there was no UA-cam tutorials like this. Here I am 12 years into my career and feeling so comforted knowing that I make a lot of the same moves. Makes me realize that maybe I AM pretty versed in Illustrator. HAH :) Thanks for the tutorial!

9:22 "It's still selecting the whole shape"
The reason why that is because you didn't deselect the whole shape when you changed from selection tool to direct selection tool.
You don't need to overlap the lines. Just deselect the whole shape after dividing it and then use the direct selection tool and it won't select the whole shape.

Can't we select both halves (select first half and then by pressing shift select another half using selection tool) and cut them.
Now go to outline mode to see any left out anchor points?
