The thing I enjoy about live streams is that we can see your mistakes, or rather, the many unpredictable ways that illustrator refuses to cooperate, and the ways you identify the problem and solve them. Those are things that are NEVER addressed in a tutorial. So thank you so much! ♥
normally i dont give reviews but maam youre amazing like i tried 2 videos on 2020 and one on 2022 but it wont work but i saw yr video today and it worked as being both content creators i respect your hard work and keep it up
Thank you so much for your videos. Not only talentet in design, but also in teaching. I'm a digital art student and your videos are way more helpful than some of my classes.
I randomly came across this tutorial just now, and let me just share that it's so humbling to know that I come across the same hiccups that you do. I'll hit that perspective grid and scramble to figure out how to get rid of it. It's refreshing to watch someone else do logo work and explain every single move because back when I was learning Illustrator, there was no UA-cam tutorials like this. Here I am 12 years into my career and feeling so comforted knowing that I make a lot of the same moves. Makes me realize that maybe I AM pretty versed in Illustrator. HAH :) Thanks for the tutorial!
Your instructing style is just awesome!!! Thank you so much for all these detailed information e.g. 17:30 - 18:39 ( changing blending mode, hold alt to get out of line mode to continue with straight line) You helped me a lot
Hi, Dansky! I come from China. Your tutorials really help me a lot and boost my AI skills. Thanks so much and hope your channel will get better and better.
You Sir, should be a professor. Your explanation is magnificent. I am not a designer and I could easily follow through. You have a subscription! Keep up the good work and tutorials!
I was looking for something else but the random tips were so interesting I watched the whole thing. I know that Photoshop and Illustrator are powerful tools, and I'm trying to learn more about using them
Great video tutorials - thanks @Dansky. The Alt+Click for using the pen tool to switch between curved and straight lines - have been looking for that gem for ages and have been using Illustrator for many years!
Great tutorial! I've already started to learn AI for real and your tips are very helpful. You do it slowly and with patience, just great teacher! This is all I want!
If you want to move the drop shadow masks or resize it with the art, don't forget to relink the opacity mask with the chain icon in the transparancy-panel. Took me a while to figure out and gave quite a headache. Great tutorial as always Dansky!
@@josephmackela8466 to be honest this was 6 years ago so I bet the transparency panel must have moved or changed since then. Haven’t worked in illustrator in a while though so can’t help you much I’m afraid.
Great tutorial! Gave me a basic introduction to using masks in Illustrator. I would have used gradients as a "shadow" method, but masking seems to work better. Thanks!
i couldn't put the color at the end, glad i chose the color of the letter i wanted from the start lol, very helpfull tutorial since other method for adding shadows were kinda confusing to me as a beginer (ie: using pathfinder - front)
9:22 "It's still selecting the whole shape" The reason why that is because you didn't deselect the whole shape when you changed from selection tool to direct selection tool. You don't need to overlap the lines. Just deselect the whole shape after dividing it and then use the direct selection tool and it won't select the whole shape.
it was very helpful all of your tutorials are helpful but this was more unique and more of what I need I was working on it but I couldn't understand the thing thank you so much for making me understand your really an good teacher thank you alot.......
It's a very interesting technique danksy. It gives you way more flexibility than using the Gradient Tool. Great tutorial. Especially when you want to change the color but keep the shadow.
Hey Dansky, Why we cut (cmd+x) half of G and pasted in front at 11:08 ? Can't we select both halves (select first half and then by pressing shift select another half using selection tool) and cut them. Now go to outline mode to see any left out anchor points?
You can Joseph! I launched a course recently teaching everything I know about Adobe Illustrator, and if you sign up to my mailing list on dansky.com - you also get 15% off 😊 www.dansky.com/courses/the-adobe-illustrator-masterclass
Will the scissors tool work? I don’t have a knife tool. Can I still do this project without it? That course sounds interesting. I am also not getting the transparency panel. I can’t find the transparency mode. I’ve looked under every heading. Is there something else I can do if I don’t have a transparency panel? I go to window and transparency is not there.
I tried this the second time and I couldn’t get the masking to work. I couldn’t get it to select from the center of the masking circle. What did I miss?
Watching this years after and it’s still GOLD. Thanks a lot Dan! You’re a Goldsmith
A goldsmith eh? That’s definitely a first haha 😂 Thanks so much for the support!

Aha yes good point. Thanks Robin!
Thank you so much for this tip!! I was scratching my head for shadows not moving.
Do you know why there isn’t a transparency panel? I can’t find one on mine or a knife tool.

I have learnt so much with you! Great delivery!
Solid tutorial, just done this now. Thanks! Adding shortcuts to the tutorial would be great also, as the outline mode is a funny one to find.

Aha well I wasn't going to say anything but..... 😇😂
