@@ScottRods oil pan or trans pan? My oil pan is all beat up but my trans pan (like the one in this video) has a small dent. I have a 72 chevelle and it goes into park, neutral and reverse but not drive. Trying to figure it out
I swapped a 350 from a c10 into a 1979 El camino and at 4.28 on your video that leg that rolls on the gear does not slid into park I adjusted the cable and rod but nothing, anyway to fix it, I was planning on shaving the gear to make it work
@@CrypCap not sure but I am going to check the linkage, I have a c10 as well and notice that the El camino one is at a opposite direction as it hooks up to the transmission,so I think if I were to swap the c10 bracket should work
@@ProffesorDankyNugs no i sold car but i might have had wrong linkage set up , as i pulled the transmission off a c10 truck which is a hair different, or could have had a bad torque converter or the lever were that guy is playing with the roller might need to be shaved down to catch Park 3.12 time frame
I always tell people to check for dents on the trans oil pan. The lever passes very close to the wall of the pan and can get fouled. Or, it could just need a slight cable adjustment.

Mine will go into park, reverse and neutral. Won’t go into drive. I’m hoping this will help me fix it. It’s an 85 el Camino
Remember to check your oil pan for dents. This was also causing mine not to shift all the way.

Great video I have a 1976 corvette with no reverse gear in my th350 transmission but forward works just fine how do I fix this ?

Did you check the oil pan section? Mine was only dented a little bit, but was enough to stop the inside lever from moving.
Scott Rods no I pushed it back an it drove by itself when I pushed it then put it in drive an it tried to pull but it was just like it was in park
