- We see Barnabas who is still in 1970 and learn more about what happened when Collinwood was destroyed. Elizabeth, Daphne, David and Hallie all died. Carolyn does not realize what has happened and Quentin tries to hang himself. Quentin is taken to Windcliff.
Professor Stokes is one of my favorite characters. He is a brilliant scholar and probably enjoys his own company more than having a partner . As for his colleagues at the university, he doesn't believe they are on his level. This is one of the few scenes with Quentin and Professor Stokes.
They shared brief scenes in the 1995 storyline before this
@@danbaranowski Yes, that's true. If the show had continued , I would have wanted more of these two.

Since Quentin has a lot of free time (like all of eternity), maybe he could enroll as both an undergraduate and, then, as a graduate student under the guidance of the omniscient Professor T. Elliott Stokes?
PS It’s too bad that we never found out the name of the prestigious university Professor Stokes was teaching at in Collinsport.
Stokes is kind of the Van Helsing character in Dracula. I liked the way the writers placed him that role. Same for Buffy The Vampire Slayer having a watcher 👍🏻
As a former academic librarian, I love this kind of character.
The present Barnabas is still in the year 1970 and he is trying to find Julia in 1840. Quentin almost hangs himself but is committed to the Windcliff Institution. Both Quentin & Carolyn are "mad" just like in the year 1995. Now Barnabas is using the I-Ching hexagram to journey his spirit to the "other" Barnabas in 1840 with the help of Prof Stokes. Poor Barnabas is pressed for time that he MUST reach there before Oct 6th, 1840. Roxanne shows up at Collinwood (before the curse from Angelique is placed on Roxanne).
No one plays "crazy" as well as Nancy Barrett. And she is so beautiful too!
With Elizabeth, David, Hallie and Daphne dead, Roger away, Maggie at Windcliff, Quentin suicidal, Carolyn half-insane, Julia in 1840, and Collinwood destroyed; Barnabas, Stokes and Willie have hit rock bottom
4:38-6:04 Barnabas, Stokes, and Carolyn vs Quentin
Can you imagine how much Blue Whale bartender Bob Rooney and all of his customers at the bar would be gossiping about all of the deaths at Collinwood, not to mention the great house’s destruction?
After Kathryn Leigh Scott left the show...it wasn't the same.😕
It's true! I would have loved to see her play Samantha Collins. (Not that Virginia Vestoff was bad! She was a wonderful addition to the cast.)
I love Thayer David acting even if he sneezed
I agree.
8:30 Barnabas was always crying out "It can't be!" in the Gold Key comic book version of the show!
I saw some of these episodes when I was in fifth grade, first-run! And Nancy Barrett was so good at playing mad! (I hope she got to do Shakespeare!)
TIME TRAVEL IS POSSIBLE IF WE UNDERSTOOD THAT POSSIBILITY OF THE NATURAL LAWS AND PRINCIPLES OF THE PHYSICAL UNIVERSE THAT EXIST WITHIN WISDOM ,KNOWLEDGE ,AND UNDERSTANDINGS !
It's the cause and effect that makes the mind unable to process it.
I never liked the way they handled this with Quentin. Once before Barnabas restored Quentin’s memory by forcing him to look at his portrait. The writers made Gerard too powerful. Leaving Quentin in his right mind would have been more hopeful and wouldn’t have changed the story arc at all.
You should never have an omnipotent all powerful villain in any story. Well that’s my opinion anyway 🤷♂️
It certainly made him very terrifying ... at least to me as a child lol
Gerard was the uberevil antagonist of the show. But how did he die in the original timeline? Was he possessed by Judah Zachary as he was when Julia traveled there? So why isn't it Judah's ghost we see in 1970 and 1995? And if it's Gerard's ghost after all then, what was his grudge against the family that he would come back 130 years later and have four zombies destroy the house? I think about these unanswerable questions all the time!
Yet another Trask! Whew! A lot of villains in this time period! 😀
I do not like any Trasks, but I found it a little offensive that Roxanne was belittling him. Perhaps it was the only power she had ... and/or was under the spell of Barnabas lol
Nothing is impossible in all reality of our physical universe
I didn’t care for the show after Maggie and Vickie left.
I love them all❤
