Used to play this machine back in 79'-80' every weekend, basically the first real pinball machine I really got to play repeatedly and get pretty good at. Love seeing and hearing it again!
Yeah I was kind of thinking it was some sort of tube that had been cut, at least they put something on there instead of playing with the bare flippers :)
that pinball looks really great for it's age. Someone really had an eye on it, sadly happens not so often... Should be a really easy task to compensate for the last pinball nightmare ;)
It looks to be in really good shape. At least it's the best looking backglass, playfield and cabinet I've seen before repairs in your videos so far. I don't remember watching the show when it came out, just brief memory flashes of it as a tot.
Wow. Never knew they made a pinball for 6m man. Used to watch this show as a kid. Always wanted the action figure with the bionic eye. Y'all never disappoint.
Hi Ron, little critters getting in where they shouldn't be. On another channel that I watch the guy had a problem with his Toyota Tundra where it was missing and running badly. A mouse got into where the timing belt is and went for a ride around the belt which made the left side cam slip 3 teeth. Luckily no valves were bent and the engine run fine again but what a ghastly mess left behind. Cheers
I've seen the mismatched body and head a few times. You'd have to think it was the original operator who had a few of them and mixed them up in storage when they were pulled apart.
I can't wait to see this being worked on. I may have not been around when "6 million dollar man" was on but I did see reruns :). Love that show. Also loved Knight Rider. Can't wait to see that one either. Also the lady was "Bionic Woman" she had her own show. She was basically the same way as him, but different incident where they had to rebuild her. According to google (I couldn't remember what happened tbh) she had a skydiving accident which left her in critical condition.
wow....you have such a wonderful job!....I am these days sadly stuck behind a pc monitor...it pays the bills. But it does not satisfy the creative side of me. I have had many jobs over the years from farming to welding. I greatly miss being hands on fixing things. Watching your vids is so interesting, I have little skill in electronics but appreciate the skills involved. Cheers
Waiting on Night Rider but this makes up for the wait. Same game to funny. Never played it. At 7 yrs old when it came out I was not allowed in those arcade dens of iniquity and sin lol. The girl on the show spun off to do the bionic woman by that time I believe. I did have the action figure and it was my favorite. Bionic vision, roll up fake skin to see the bionics. Thanks for the memories 😉🙃👍👍👍
I've never seen a BAD 6m$m backglass.. as in paint flaking off. They are pretty much always in nice shape anytime i see one. I have one in my own collection and its glass is in pristine shape, have owned the game for 30 years.
I'm just a humble country pinball fan trying to do the best I can watching along but it looks like the sound board had an 8-78 silk screened on it under the Bally logo. Could be a date code? Maybe something else.
Well today they purposefully do it for billions. All the politicians on both sides have to get as much of it in their pockets as they can, how else are they going to afford those big houses and all those bodyguards? Keep working, they really need it bad!
Just picked up a William's aces n kings 1970 em plays great. play field looks new but back glass I need a reproduction paint is bad on backglass any ideas where I can get one?
It's very subjective, they're worth whatever you can sell them for. In my shop, with a warranty, cleaned up, in a retail space it'd be $1899 or so in this condition. In your house maybe more or less, not sure, also depends on where you are, etc.
I believe it may be! There's three or four of them on each flipper. The guy was at least trying to get something rubber on there after the bands broke :)
Long time viewer just wondering if u ever did a video on actually clearing a play field after u do touch ups getting ready to start working on my playfeild
I never have because we just use spray paint and everybody says that's very wrong and we definitely shouldn't do it that way, lol so we just leave people to figure it out themselves, wouldn't want to give anybody wrong info!
For all you people who are worried about that battery batteries just don’t all the Sunburst it’s a slow process so leaving it in there for a few days won’t heard anything have a good day
This machine is in entirety too good of a shape to be a starting point. Please have the owner take it back and dirty it up a bit before the next installment 😉
@@LyonsArcadegot a blowout. Damper three!!!!!! The lifting body that crashed in. Intro. Was rebuilt used and hung in Smithsonian. Air space museum in DC
Of course the designer was the same. It seems obvious that once you have a basic design, making variations on it would be economical and quick to churn out. So Bally made a lot of the same game with different themes. The 6 Million Dollar Man must have been a much more expensive game than Night Rider when it came out. It has quite a few more features and it is 6 player.
No, it's the pinball community. It's full of elitist people who are obsessed with something as simple as bouncing a ball. At the same time that they're obsessed with something so simple, they insist that everything be perfect. They will bitch and complain about everything from 1 single lightbulb being burnt out, to the guy on the backglass doesn't look just like the guy in the show, to they don't like where the displays are in the backbox, to the flippers are too weak, to the flippers are too strong, to they think that 1 switch out of about 50 isn't working 100% of the time, to the slope of the playfield is too tall, too short, to i'm using the wrong terms, to I didn't do that right, I'm not a good enough player, etc. it goes on and on. They will literally invent shit to complain about. They will complain that whatever game you're working on isn't as good as whatever game they imagine in their head is better. In the Arcade world, you seem to get people who just enjoy the game, but there is about 10% of the pinball community that are absolute assholes. That's what makes the job suck. The hardest part to explain about the entire experience is, at the end of the day we're talking about a really primitive thing here, hitting a ball with a stick. The dichotomy of the simplicity of the game, and the complexity of these people's complaints and arrogance is pretty amazing. So it's "ooh ooh me want hit ball" and at the same time, from the same people, complaints about the smallest little picayune thing that doesn't affect gameplay but they think ruins the game.

I was born on the same day, but in 1974. As much as I hate to say it, no trip to Hawaii for my big day.
When moving this machine, does the back come completely off or does it fold down on top of the playboard?
The head comes all the way off. There are bolts holding it on and a bunch of plugs can be removed for the wiring.
