    Great job on this one Ron. The game was designed with a lot going on! A pin that one would not tire of quickly. Cheers from Canada!

    I read Frankenstein in High School. My teacher was in awe that I read it, and WANTED to read it. The book was written on a dare/bet. I agree, the book was VERY good. The best 2 to ever play Frankenstein's Monster...Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi!

    • @zillelben8742
      @zillelben8742 Місяць тому

      Boris Karloff's 1931 portrayal of Frankenstein's monster is what comes to my mind when discussing the 1818 novel, however the 1994 movie this pin is based on, starring Robert Deniro, as the creature, was closer in story, to the original novel than the Universal Studios B/W Frankenstein movies. I love them all, including Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, which would make a great theme for a pin IMHO. Peace ✌️

      @@zillelben8742 I won't disagree, though I've never seen the Robert Deniro movie. As for young Frankenstein? Masterpiece! RIP Teri Garr

    There's a program out there called Pinball Arcade, and they have this and a bunch of Stern and Gottleib tables you can buy and play on call phones and such. It hasn't been in active development for years, but the last table they added was this one. They actually bought every table they modeled in the game and like with these videos, took them apart to 3D model each piece. I didn't know half these things you showed us like the music select until today. So thank you, and thanks for going to the trouble of filming your work each week.

    This is a really fun machine I have played it in a local arcade when it came out. I also have it and have enjoyed it a lot digitally. This was a fun restore to watch and you did a fine job 🎉😊❤

    Nice work getting the monster back together Ron ! The guy that owned it did a good job organizing and taking pictures. Especially if another person could put it back together without his input . Will make someone very happy I’m sure ! Another one saved from the heap !

    We read the book back in high school for sophomore English class. Was really fun because we’d watch the movie simultaneously as we read chapter after chapter. Cool to see a pinball to go along with it.

    My Williams machine had that same annoying hum. There is an easy cheap fix. Add a 50 Ohm resistor in series with the speaker wire. This lowers the speaker volume (and hum). Then turn up the volume knob to compensate. No more hum!

    • @EsotericArctos
      @EsotericArctos Місяць тому +2

      Reducing the volume with a resistor will reduce the hum but then you need to turn it up and drive it harder to get it to work at the volume needed . The hum is an AC hum. It can also be significantly reduced with additional filitering and making sure your ground lines are clean and secure. You can hear it is a 120hz hum, which is what you get with rectified 60hz AC :).
      Although these amplifiers are pretty tolerant, I would be careful adding resistors in the speaker line as this causes an impedance mismatch for the amplifier. Might not cause an issue, but potentially it can. Probably not a big issue for home use where the machine is turned off most of the time, but if you leave a machine on 24/7 I'd be more cautious.

    Yousell yourself short Ron. You are a better pinball player than most. You know why. You know how to have fun.
    I remember playing this game at a Seven Eleven (convenience store chain) n Brisbane, Qld Australia when it was a newish game. I had many hours of fun and lost many coins on this machine

    Hats off to you, Ron, in bringing this creature back to life, as well as the previous owner that made it possible with his excellent photo documentation & bagging of parts down to the last screw. I'm a lifelong Frankenstein fan as well, & after adding both Monster Bash & Munsters to my collection, I recently acquired a nicely restored MSF with a color monitor & Pinsound upgrade with shaker motor. It's a fun game & and yes, that center ramp is killer. Be sure to wear body armor if you score Creature Multiball with the glass off, as his throws often bounce off the glass in my game.
    I learned a lot about the inner works of my game from this excellent video series. Much appreciation & Happy Halloween from SoCal.

    I cant see anything wrong with it. Lets just remember you started with a box of bits and pieces and a machine that did not work, you worked your way through stage by stage, and it ended up with a fantastic machine. Loved all the videos, well done Ronnie and Joe👍

    I only read the book recently (late last year) and it was/is excellent. Not what I was expecting, but even better. We always think of the monster as the bad guy, but its really Dr. Frankenstein that is the bad guy. Not a big pin ball player myself. Too clumsy to get the flippers to flip at the right time. But this one looks awesome. Great work on putting it back together and for the guy that took it apart for bagging everything and tons of pictures.

    For the ball getting stuck, I wonder if using a dremel to sand down (bevel) the edge of the metal so the ball rolls up onto the metal easier would work?

    I think it depends on how the game is setup but when you've shot the wire frame, you might be able to hold the right flipper up and roll the ball onto the left flipper in order to try and make that pesky ramp shot. Great game though. Pinballs are very expensive in the UK nowadays. I used to own a Playboy Anniversary and a Lethal Weapon 3, many years ago. I sold the Playboy for £350 and the Lethal Weapon 3 for £750 circa late 2000's. Needless to say, I wish I hadn't and still had them 🤦‍♂
