Damn man! You got more property than Nike does. Kick me down like a 100x50 plot! I'll build a tiny home and have a Florida vacation spot. Tell the ladies I'm ballin! Oh ya! And The Sun Car turned out fantastic. Hope that soft spot in the hood doesn't give you too much trouble. I hate that when you're trying to sand and it keeps caving in.
Haha thanks man! Also as far as property i am just renting my shop space and thats all. Funny story, i actually met the owner of the property in a paint store and started talking to him, welded some flors into a 52 chevy truck cab, he was happy with the job and eventually i moved my shop to his property.

so you prime sand and paint all in the same room how do you keep all the dust and shit from getting in the paint do you wet the floor spray the walls down? i think that subject + maybe going over your paint setup there, and how you prep your environment before the project even starts, example.... maybe if we wanted to do something similar in a garage or something. watched the taylor video and stayed for the fire, keep up the good work love the content man.
Same here. Maybe a little more in depth description. Do you remove all of the masking and re-mask between primer and paint? Also when you do a cheaper job and end up with imperfections can you show some of them? We realize you're doing what you get paid to do and can't spend a month restoring a car when it's a simple scuff and shoot. In other words, show the good, bad and the ugly lol.
Awesome advice guys i really do appreciate it! I do prime and paint and sand in the same room. I just blow it all out with an electric leaf blower after ever day or after sanding and before painting. I can go into this on an upcoming car.
If a dirt/ dust falls on your paint you can sand it a little a spray on that spot.. the problem is when you’re spraying clear, but if dirt/dust falls on the clear, you can always sand it once it’s dry and polish it.

love the content bro, i wish you could paint my truck, it needs a new paint job plus theres only like 3 or 4 small dents on the tail gate and im right here in tampa area. it would be a great project to show for some videos lol
its a 2001 ford f150 4 door short bed 5.4 triton v8 lariat, its at stock height but i guess because its a lariat its as tall as like a 2 in lift but it is not lifted, ive went over the whole truck because lol this is my first truck, there is one bigger problem, the last owner had it up north and the truck needs the rocker panels to be replaced also, its hard to find anyone that can do it
Do you ever wet sand the final primer. Just wondering. When we painted my Cutlass. We primed the whole car 2x sanding between coats. The wet sand last coat. Wash the car. Wiped it down then tac wiped and then paint. 3 Coates of aspen white. A coat if clear with chrome flake then 2 more coats of just clear. Looked like glass.
Was wondering the same thing. If not, how do you keep the paper from loading up constantly? I know wetsanding is messy but I do think you get a slicker surface.

My del sol needs that kind of work too.. im a little too scared about that, because it will cost me so much money, and we never know if the work is that good..
Hey, got a quick question for you. I'm a new subscriber so i just came across this video now. My car has a similar paint code (with that Honda Pearl). My questions is just on how you sprayed it. From everything i've read, it seems like everyone is stressing that when you paint pearl that you do the entire length of the vehicle at once instead of how you did it, sort of panel by panel. I think it was to avoid too much pearl build up and possible sags? Now i dont know if this is for custom pearl paint jobs that are very heavy in pearl or if this is for all pearl paint jobs. I also dont know how much pearl really is in the Honda paint. It looks like it turned out fantastic on this car, so now i'm wondering how i should approach doing a factory pearl paint color on my car when i re-spray it. Do you see any reason to paint the entire length of the vehicle instead of how you did it? I'm used to doing the "panel section by panel section" method. thanks!!
The pearls are heavy and you do have to be careful. I have a hard time on big pieces like the hood, now when i do panel by panel i always like to do the full fender and bring it part way onto the door, next pass not as far on the door, next pass just part of the fender and on the door panel i start part way on the fender. My theory is to not stop and start in the same location every time. Also i am no expert but thats just how i do it. Thanks for watching.
BodeVision that makes sense to me, I’m def no pro so I like seeing and hearing the different way people approach it. Especially when you get the results like you got. Thanks!
Can anyone describe at what point "orange peel" happens? Obviously it is seen in the finish of a paint job, but it occurs at some point in the process. Or is it a product multiple problems in prep and how paint is laid down?
Clear coat. Basically when you apply clear the orange peel happens. Temperature of the clear, how much hardner, spray gun setting and technique all result in different levels of peel. Once you're good you can actually look at a car and level of peel and match it. European cars are generally peel heavy. Orange peel is good because it hits imperfections and blemishes better than glass clear.
Impressive man. I've tried some DIY paint before and it ain't easy. Kudos to you. If there was no price limit here, or if this was your ride, how would you do it different to make it perfect with the same garage setup?
