Introducing the worlds first handheld global satellite radio. This is not a satellite phone, this is a satellite radio that works like a common VHF handheld radio but instead of connecting to land based towers or repeaters it connects to the new Iridium NEXT 66 satellites that orbit the earth in low orbit and cover 100% of the world. That's right, pole to pole coverage in areas that other geostationary satellites like MSAT or others wont work. Iridium is illegal in some places in the world. Some only allow Inmarsat.

Only in some sh*thole countries like North Korea, Russia... and just because their government doesn't want someone to use those phones.
Maybe they can only observe and tap Inmarsat connections

To confirm, we fly around, sometime different parts of various countries in the same day. We would have to update location every time we land fornthese to work?
And, this is just a radio? Cant make a call to any other device like one of our office landlines or a ms teams line.

can we really rely on any network? I think Iridium will be the last working if everything goes bad.
I have used these in the early days and I know damn well these things will be the last line of defense if all hell goes to hell. Solution is to get together with four other folks that don’t mind being part of the same group and go from there.
