Been following you for YEARS, this reaction series is one of the best bits of content you've produced not only does it give us insight but it separates fact from fiction. Love the work bro keep it coming.
Love your reaction videos! Am in the industry, really enjoying the series which really nails a lot of the important details. Reacting to them whilst watching is half the fun, so being able to share in the reaction with your assessment has been great!
I started to watch you because of HBO's "Industry" series, but once the program is over, I plan to stay for some informative and interesting topics. Good luck and thanks.
One reason I loved working the trading floor between 2016 -2019 was just the stories and interactions you just have. Being yelled at and being nonchalant about it really shows. I have seen jr traders left in little of 2 weeks just under the emotional stress. God I miss the pit.
I worked in one of the Vault 100 Law Firms in the U.S., and I have literally felt every single one of these things. Given that our New York office was a major Wall St. law firm that represented your former employers in several situations, gives you insight into the climate of where I was working. Not a day went by that new Attorneys and/or new Staffers who were recruited from some of the top universities wanted to run away. But that internal strife of possible black ball later on would always plague every person. For me, however, I felt that if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have minded working there again, knowing what I know now. It was a decision made, on my part, when things seemed to be going downhill, but I didn't realize that it was my own internal insecurities about my abilities that lead me to my decision more than the firm's bad P.R. (at the time). It is true, when you look back or consider your position now, some wouldn't mind making the same decisions, or making corrections.
I'm an fx salesperson, and I would like to let every undergrad know that the politics in Industry is on point. Come in, be prepared to please everyone, but never stop watching your fucking back.
I appreciate your idea that everyone is human in the workplace. It’s very easy to think your boss is royalty or something. I would like to add, internalizing the need for instant gratification from your managers will lower your self-esteem more than help it. Delayed gratification from hard work and ambition pays off better.
That what would you do different if you could go back in time is a great question. I will use it in the day to day and ask it to interviewers on job interviews. Good one to draw attention.
Loved the show; great commentary here. I've been at client events with bosses/execs that might drink too much or be socially awkward, but I found Kenny's behavior almost too hard to believe, particularly when they went out for the night-cap. Hard to fathom someone would be so unable to read the room.
Thank you SO much for these ! I can’t watch the series as it’s way too inappropriate but your videos cut out the sex and drugs and get to the valuable learning ! Appreciate this!
Great video man! You could also show more of Robert and his boss Clement and what you think of their dynamic. Especially as we learn in this episode, his upper-British attitude and style (gold ring on the finger, fake accent) is a disguise masking his humble origin similar to Robert's!
Hi Afzal, I see you were at Goldman Sach between 2014 to 2018. If I'm not mistaken, my cousin was working at Goldman Sach (IBD) around that time too. Not sure if you've worked with him before :D
thank u for reacting to this, I wanted to watch this so bad, but couldnt find a stream lol. also that black chick character, she always doin the most haha
I don’t think what Gus did answering the phone was wrong, it maybe overstepping his position but the intentions where good. I think Eric was mad and took part of his anger on him
Do you have any advice on how to learn many of these things, I certainly don't learn it in college and am wondering as to where interns learn everything they know to be able to pitch ideas
Came here because of the show and I’m not in this business, at all. I’ve never been to an off site meeting but I can’t imagine it would be a good idea to get so drunk you can’t control what you say. 100%guarantee Eric was drunk of his rocker when he said whatever it was.
Eric is blowing things out of proportion for Gus answering his phone. Gus might have overstepped but once it's made clear that Eric doesn't like his phone answered, Gus won't do it again. It's not that big of a deal. That's why Gus has to walk away and not try to change Eric's mind. Eric is an MD, there's no winning that batter and it's not worth it, but we know Gus has quite the confidence.
I love your videos and this is not a criticism by any means but your understanding of Compliance function is incorrect. Compliance do not deal with employee grievances or background checks (you mentioned in previous video) this is the role of HR. In Compliance we advise the business on regulatory matters pertaining to the business they conduct. This can be making sure they are abiding with market regs or financial crime. We have no involvement with HR matters. :)
How’s it Afzal. Overall, how realistic do you reckon the show is? Also, do you think an IB employ someone with an honours degree and CAIA, or would they exclusively want CFA?
Interesting series but abit over the top, do work in an investment firm as 2ic below the ceo,but there are no brokers here, My firm is more like Mark Baum from margin calls, get a lot of cold calls to sell products, but our focus is towards oversold assets against other assets of the same class, eg iron ore sector is down 20%, but this iron ore mine is down 40% with no explanation
Seems you have stopped this series, is that right? Or are you in the process of creating the content for the remaining episodes? Loved your past episode reviews
12:28 the palm-up finger beckon is normal in the US. I get this is in London, but Eric and Harper are Americans, so the gesture itself adds no seriousness between the two. Eric's temper is all the gesture Harper needs to know shit's going down
Won’t be surprised if we see you in season 2
Hahah! I'm all for that! 👊🏽
I want this to happen so bad. If industry producers are reading this. Please make it happen.
Afzal cameo during the new season of the Industry is a f.. must!
Af in Industry would be siiiiick
Thats would be Dope.
Loving your commentary - your insights and jargon breakdown makes the series even better
👊🏽💪🏽
"You're also a fucking liar"... "Fun fact, this guy was in Rush Hour" lool
Been following you for YEARS, this reaction series is one of the best bits of content you've produced not only does it give us insight but it separates fact from fiction. Love the work bro keep it coming.
How dope would it be if you made a cameo in season 2?
AFZAL FOR SEASON 2!!!
Of all the background information and contextual analysis, the fact that Eric's actor was in Rush Hour will stick
Ex- BB NYC banking intern here. I can confirm MDs do not care at all, and they will tell you to your face.
11:35 eric looks like he's about to drop the hottest freestyle on the trading floor
just puked up some spaghetti
I really look forward to these
Thanks!
Love your reaction videos!

The thought of going to a client-dinner and roasting the client is absolutely hilarious 😂😂
Subscribed! Loved your commentary- keep it up!

This show is fucking amazing, I have no clue what’s going on in the business terminology side, but character wise I love it 😂
Leaving my comment to support. Loved the insights
🙌🏽💪🏽👍🏽
Afzal would be the godfather of banking Harper has to defeat in season 2.
Episode 6 was insane! I’d love to see your reaction
great content. keep up the great work
Have been waiting for this all week :)
Love your commentary mate
Cheers! 👊🏽

I would like to know Afzal's favourite character in the series ...😅
What we have been waiting for

Great job as usual!
💪🏽👊🏽
Great episode! Thanks for sharing your experience as always. Also, what is your watch?? I dig it.
Can't wait for reaction videos for episode 6,7,8
Love the videos any chance of a video on the interview procsess at Goldman
That was a very informative video!
Thanks for watching!
I have been loving you videos
Wish Industry featured more content about investment banking. The drama keeps things interesting, but ultimately unrealistic.
Billions is just the same. A good amount of investing but more to do with the drama
Eric was also in the sopranos with Uncle Junior
Hi Afzal, I see you were at Goldman Sach between 2014 to 2018. If I'm not mistaken, my cousin was working at Goldman Sach (IBD) around that time too. Not sure if you've worked with him before :D
thank u for reacting to this, I wanted to watch this so bad, but couldnt find a stream lol.
also that black chick character, she always doin the most haha
man I just started watching this after your videos and there are a feww scenes you didn't include, understandably
Afzal, sure u have answered this question before but are u going to do the last 3 episodes of the series? also really enjoy the perspective u give
Gus shoulda never touched the mans phone. I'd be mad too
Love theses videos!:)
I cannot wait till u get to the last episode!! 😭
You give good advice, regardless of industry
Thanks 😊
Eric's bomber jacket ❤
Liked before watching
#Legend
Keep doing these vids brooo
Afzal, quick question: what does vp or md and thos types of notation mean? Im from mexico so im not very familiar with those letters haha.
A - Analyst
SA - Senior Analyst
AS - Associate
ED - Executive Director
VP - Vice President
MD - Managing Director
P - Partner
So great to learn about investment banking from someone who's got their head on their shoulders
😄
I don’t think what Gus did answering the phone was wrong, it maybe overstepping his position but the intentions where good. I think Eric was mad and took part of his anger on him
So is this set in the asset management part of an investment bank?
Gus too prickly lol
Good video, can you turn up the volume of the series? I barely understand what they say without subtitles
What watch are you wearing? Looks good
Why you are not long posting these series?
Do you have any advice on how to learn many of these things, I certainly don't learn it in college and am wondering as to where interns learn everything they know to be able to pitch ideas

/is there 8 episodes out right now?
Wasn’t Eric on X Men the Last Stand? I think he was the porcupine guy but I could be wrong.
Fun fact, I just recognized Eric on episode VII of Star Wars hahaha(yeah, I didn’t see the Disney trilogy until now so...)
Eric is blowing things out of proportion for Gus answering his phone. Gus might have overstepped but once it's made clear that Eric doesn't like his phone answered, Gus won't do it again. Awesome 👍
havent watched the show but binged watched your commentary lol

My bad, must have mixed them up! Thanks for correcting 😊
makes retail investing look like a dream
what do you work as now, still in banking or go into anything else?
還有episode 6, 7 & 8嗎?looking forward > _
Awesome!
what is that watch you are wearing?
Eric is my favorite character in the show
6:00 I will try to get client via email.
12:00
Simple yes or no question
Hate when people can't answer it straight up
I’d solve an small issue for them and then approach them in the right way so I have their attention.
Or maybe just go to their offices.
6:53
How’s it Afzal. Overall, how realistic do you reckon the show is? Also, do you think an IB employ someone with an honours degree and CAIA, or would they exclusively want CFA?
What is a VP?
Vice president
Will u do ep 7 and 8 ?
I knew he looked familiar, Rush Hour was great. :)
Please watch the new season
Can u make a video on private equity careers
rush hour lol good catch
Have you heard about the show "Bad Banks" ... it's a german show about investment banking and really good imo. You should check it out one day
He’s also Miles from Lost

the MD locked the door to not let anyone get in ... former commando...
Please could you react to the episode where they har supposed to perform a speech in front of the board/managers. Gus goes nuts!!!!
Seems you have stopped this series, is that right? Or are you in the process of creating the content for the remaining episodes? Loved your past episode reviews
Reaction videos to the rest of the series will be up soon 👍🏽
@@AfzalHussein thanks for your answer and all the great work you put on those!
Pleasure!
12:28 the palm-up finger beckon is normal in the US. I get this is in London, but Eric and Harper are Americans, so the gesture itself adds no seriousness between the two. Eric's temper is all the gesture Harper needs to know shit's going down
