"Heroes No More" is a bonus track off of the reissue/remaster of 'Civilian' available May 20th on CD, Streaming and Vinyl (late 2022).
"Heroes No More" is remastered by Dan Bornemark
Directed & Animated by Noah Shulman
    Lyrics:
They were standing there, they were so near yet so far away.
Were they so unreal just a dream of someone to be one day?
There was endless fame, they were heroes, now they're souvenirs
And through changing years I can still remember, not quite so clear.
Heroes no more, stay with me still.
    I dream, I hope, I always will.
Now they're mine no more as they stand there in the glowing light.
I see every face like my own, but that was another night.
Now they're just a dream of the time known, ever left to fall.
Soon the game begins but those heroes, yours always to recall.
Heroes no more, stay with me still.
    I dream, I hope, I always will.
Heroes no more, stay with me still.
    I dream, I hope, I always will.
They were standing there, they were so near yet so far away.
Were they so unreal just a dream of someone to be one day?
There was endless fame, they were heroes, now they're souvenirs
And through changing years I can still remember, not quite so clear.

Another great tune from a brilliant band from the 70's. I saw this tour along with the 2 tours before and their last one. They were just brilliant live. In fact they were the very 1st concert I ever saw and they blew me and my friend away. We not only can hooked on seeing concerts ever since but we were hooked on GG. Great memories of a truly golden age of music for me. Long live the Giant

I can only imagine asking the complete five members for their influences. Kinda like the interview at the beginning of the Interview album. These guys were influenced by thousands of musicians and writers. They were an extremely well read band. The list is silly. But hey why not?

    • @bargainbassist
      @bargainbassist 4 місяці тому

True. I would have expected to see Brian Wilson and Edgar Varese on the list (both being influences they have either verbally or tacitly acknowledged as influences). But I’m sure the list is not comprehensive. In interviews with the band members (especially Derek) they’ll mention a particular musician whose ideas they like, so that might be a dependable source.
