I appreciate you, I was supposed to take my exam end of February.
I pushed to to mid March and I already scheduled it. I've realized I'm really struggling when it comes to airport charts and airspaces as well.
Thank you for giving your perspective.
You got this! Glad I could help
Jay, I will say this for myself, I think anyone taking the 107 test for the first time is nervous. I have taken and passed mine February 9th. I believe it was and unfortunately studied older material. Toms video here I believe is the best in advice for the 2024 exam as the 107 had just changed in February. It is actually good that you held off another month to be better prepared for it. The graphs and charts bothered me as well actually. Good luck and best wishes.
Congrats. Passed my test last week. Used Drone Academy Program and study it for several weeks before hand. Also watched some drone shows on U-Tube. Bring a magnifying glass as well. Helped out. The testing center opened at 8:30 am for 9 am test and already had 5-6 people waiting. No watches and nothing in your pockets. No hats. Test took about 30 minutes and lots of questions on Air Space and very few on weather. Only one runway take off question. Lots of administrative and medical questions. No airport signs or markings on my test. The test is suppose to change in April with new questions. Got an 87 after scoring 90-95 on practice tests. Good Luck!
Congrats on passing your exam. I've heard the test is changing soon too. Glad I did it before the change. Cheers!
Aced mine:100%.
Congrats!
What did you use to study?
Oh wow. Congrats great job
Thank you!
Exactly! I had just taken my first 107 exam this past month after 9 days of study time as well. I passed the exam also yet disappointed that I reviewed older exams material as I did not have the materials to study. Of all the older 107 exams, I was averaging 95 to 100% accuracy on ANY exam of past years, this exam was harder than expected for sure. I am going to save your video to start collecting the materials that you have for renewal anyhow though it is two years away like you.
I was confused on some of the questions that you were except for the foreign questions. I have done the test and passed like you did, I went through the background check and received my temporary certification yesterday afternoon. Now I am just waiting for my permanent license in the mail that should be very soon. I truly went against my better judgement and retained all the old exams.
Frankly I wanted to learn more about safety for myself, those around me and my gear than anything. My memory is not the best due to past head medical injuries either that is under control in today's times such as a minor stroke and past seizures. Medications had greatly assisted in controlling those issues since.
Though I am qualified to fly commercially now, I am only focusing on getting proficient with flying my adult GPS practice drones current as my last expensive DJI drone was stolen from me unfortunately. Once I feel very comfortable, I will be purchasing another DJI drone and take on a few selected areas to go into, I am being very selective on what areas I wished to focus on of course. I have selected when I do a paid " *Visual Observer* " with hopefully more drone experience than I do but not 107 certified to work with me on the jobs. In the meantime, I am spending at least a hour a day if not a tad more to get comfortable with flying in general and I am proud to say that just by getting out there doing so, I am learning something new everyday I take one of the three GPS drones up in the air. Hopefully within a month or two, I will be ready for both the new DJI drone and new clients. I already have a local company who wishes to employ me possibly full time however, I just want to do it part time being pretty much retired at this point. I understand technically that I could of just did recreational flying however I felt I would learn more just doing the 107 and happy that I did.
*Anyways it is nice to see another 2024 107 pilot on UA-cam giving advise on newer material than the older materials we have all been studying with. I was informed the test materials were going to change in February so I tried to take the older test but was a bit too late doing so but that's okay. *Anyways, congratulations on passing the 2024 exam as well* .
Since I did everything else and being that this is my first time that I ever took the 107 exam and I did everything needed to do, how long does it take to get the official license in the mail now?
In the meantime, I am just practicing with one of my drones and preparing advertising material for when I get comfortable with the drones. I am also soon going to be taking editing courses for future clients.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Sorry to hear your drone was stolen. It took about a month and a half to get the official license card in the mail after my temporary one was issued. They seem to be a bit backed up but I heard it’s typically to wait about a month. Wishing you the best. Cheers!
@@TomWadeCine ....thank you kindly Tom, a month and a half actually sounds pretty good as I expect about a month and a half to two months to feel comfortable enough to take on the commercial projects that I am seeking periodically. Thank you kindly for your fast response and have a great evening!
@@RickyL305have a good one Ricky!
Awesome, Awesome video. I'm getting ready for my test, lets see.
I’m glad you liked the video. Goodluck on the test!
I'm wondering if the LA map you mentioned is specific to the test? I was just wondering if I could use one from my local area
It was not specific to LA. I saw some familiar maps from the practice exams online.
@@TomWadeCine Thisi is facinating stuff I just ran into a site called skyVector flight planning. It's probably way deeper than we need for 107, but maybe I can sort out what runway signs mean!! It's a whole new world. Thanks for being a catalyst to this new adventure
hi if i go to the US on a visit visa, can apply for the part 107 license? and what will be the requirements needed?
I don’t know but I don’t think you could
Hi there I’m from Los Angeles, CA. Where exactly your text/exam location? TY
The one that had the soonest date was in Santa Fe springs.
@@tomwadek thank you for the info and congratulations on passing part 107👍
Sorry I just realized I replied from my other channel. Thank you, are you taking your exam sure? If so, good luck and you got this! 💪
@@TomWadeCine oh…. now I lost your answer 😀you said Santa Fe Spring.. right?.. can you share the exact address?.. I am planning to take the test this year. ty
