Guys, we're super sorry about the audio not syncing with the video -_-. It wasn't like that when it was edited. We will try to make sure they're perfect next time. Thanks for all the love and support we get. 😊
You're so welcome. We enjoyed the port. Hopefully you have a great trip there 😁. Maybe the fort will be open when you go so you can explore that if it interests you
This is the best video I have found about Puerto Plata. Most of the rest are just someone reading the marketing information - Ugh!. We are going this summer so these are awesome tips! I'm trying to not pay for international service on my phone so I'll probably print out directions on how to get to Pink Street & Umbrella street from the port. Can you tell me if that map had you walking through Taino Bay or were you on the outside of the property the entire time? Great tip on going early, I think my teens will love taking some pictures in those areas. Can you elaborate on what "early" means? I'd like to go take pictures in town - so maybe spend 30-45 minutes on that & come back to Taino Bay, We dock at DR at 7am but they're going to be hard to wake up at 6am! And last question, my 78 year old mom is going with us & she can't walk very far. I am really excited about her being able to take the tuktuk. Does she sit somewhere to wait for one...or how does that work so that they know she needs a ride? (She will be joining us at Taino Bay after we return from our hike into town.) Again, thank you so much! I really loved the video & will be looking at the others for more useful traveler information.
Hi Mickie, we're so glad you enjoyed it. Early, is as soon as you clear customs. You can always check to see if there will be other ships there as well, as that'll add to the crowds. My recommendation would be go as soon as you dock to beat the ship tours there. That's who is gonna clog the streets because the locals see it everyday and aren't really there. You will walk all the through Taino bay to the taxi exit and then it's almost a straight shot up to umbrella and pink streets. As soon as you come off the gangway, I felt like the tuktuks were sitting there next to the ship waiting and then again at the end of the pier on your way back. Hope you enjoy it and let us know if you have any other questions we can help with. :) thanks for supporting the channel and safe travels.
Did you feel unsafe walking? We are going in July but will have a family member in wheelchair and wondering if we could push her to see some of these sights. (30y/o CP W/C dependent 100% not able to take any tours.
Unsafe in the downtown part, no. Very easy to walk no real issues. However, it is uphill from the port so that may not be ideal. Not a mountain, but definitely a slope. DO NOT WALK to the teleferico though. That is far and not in a safe neighborhood. We would recommend maybe walking towards pink street and if you find it to be taxing or worrisome, getting a taxi there instead of in the port to save money. ☺️ We hope that helps

Yes very much free and we walked it with a 3 year old at the time. Hope that helps.

Can’t wait to go and check out all the sites and spend time in Taino Bay Area
Enjoy it! The port area is beautiful and the sites were very accessible. We hope you have a great time 😀
Hi, the pools and the chairs are for free? Really? 🤩 thanks
Yes! Really. Go enjoy but get there early to get the best spots. 😉
I would advise you to make your hot chocolate with evaporated milk, a touch of vanilla extract, a pinch of salt and some sugar.
Awesome! Thanks for advice! We will definitely try it.
