San Juan PR is lovely. Clean and generally safe. USA territory and friendly people that speak English and Spanish. You can't beat that. This is my favorite port in the Caribbean mainly because it is not a manufactured 'beach' ship type of port where it is gimmicky. It's nice to just land and walk into the city where the locals go to. Plus, tasting an authentic Pina Colada is a plus!! Thanks for the video.
Not only is it the largest one built by Spain, it is the largest in the Americas, as far as I know. For some reason, due to so many attacks, they were never able to take the island in those times.
@@C.J.R. What do you mean by "they were never able to take the island." Spain owned Puerto Rico for many years! 🤷♂ In 1797 the British led by Abercromby were defeated by the Spaniards . Also British Sir Francis Drake and his British fleet also were defeated by the Spaniards in the late 1500's. The Dutch also tried to take Puerto Rico from Spain and the Dutch were also defeated. Spain lost one battle...to The USA in the Spanish-American War of 1898. That is the good luck for Puerto Rico as it may have had the terrible fate of Cuba which is a hot mess of dire circumstances. Cubans get sad when they go to Puerto Rico as it reminds them of how Cuba was before Castro when Cuba was the gem of the Caribbean.

Corrección. Castillo San Cristobal is BIGGER than El Morro, actually the BIGGEST Fort in América built by Spain
Thank you. Noted!
