What impresses me the most about the french divs is IRL they are the most screwed by the date of the game being 1989. UK being a close 2nd and both getting massive overhauls in the 90s. But Eugen has managed to make them hyper competitive just by using in game tweaks such as Div slots, card count, units per card and giving them a focus on the areas they didn't historically neglect or hamper by doctrine. Along with a generous reading of french Recon equipments capability's. (once again the games focus on recon makes me go HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM wonder why they did that)
The ATGMs are worth taking because if you run out of Brenus, then scrapping with other tanks is gonna be a problem. So the ATGMs are more like a backup plan where you can use it in a combo with the AMX 30 B2 blob.
1)In Log, CV Jeep off. 2)Inf, LRAC Grenadiers replaced for Inf CV. 3)In Airforce Jaguar HE off because the Mirage 5 CLU (+3 He Damage) can do the same job too, now you have the pts for 4 veteran Mirage III E, cheaper against helos or aircraft.
I’ve recently dropped the Brenus and gone for 4 cards of max vet B2s (12 in total) and I’ve found that they work quite well. Albeit I haven’t really gone up against a proper heavy tank spam div so I might add more ATGMs
Against Tank divisions, you will need the recon VBL Milan, All the AMX-30 B2 max Vet,Milan 1 ATGM Vet in AMX-10 P Milan IFV,Antichar in VAB Milan,x2 Gazelle Hot 2. I m not sure about AMX-10 Hot because the Stealth is mediocre. In the battle, always support your tanks with 1 Tank CV and 1 recon AMX-10 RC.
I think its fairly expensive for what it is, but it does have a high damage level compared to some SPAAG. Personal choice if you want SPAAG or not I guess.
I mean I totally get that, they are nice to look at. They are really good against helos AND good at catching the last pip of health after a large 9 damage missile hit... sometimes at least.
@@Red-wb1wv They don't have any traits, so they wouldn't get a bonus from any IFV, they can also only come in a VAB I think so that wouldn't give such a bonus :) Unless I am mistaking what you mean?

Ew french, the only french unit thats fun is the Mirage IV HE in the Berlin command. x16 400kg bombs, x2 jets in 1 card. Great to carpet bomb, probs not the best in ranked, but fun in team games.

That make sense. Though I suspect no amount of ATGM carriers would save me once I ran out of the Brenus :')

I always struggle with the french tanks. But the divisions has a lot of flavour... I should give them a try again...

Not in the game, considered beyond the time scope by Eugen (same as the Challenger 2 tank).
My only comment would be to bring chasseurs in the truck so they can benefit from the IFV trait.
