When Band-Maid makes faces at the drummer they are trying to make her mess up or each other mess up ! When they smile i smile and i just love these girls ! "Real Existence" Live and "Play" Live are pretty good ones to react to ! Thanks Cody Great Reaction
And Mincho was watching Miku sing her verse to make sure she didn't muck up & repeat the same verse as Saiki's she did in another live performance of "Freedom" :)
You are so right..... When you leave a typical hard rock concert (Metallica, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Tool....) you feel like burning cars and biting tires but after a BAND-MAID show you feel like you could solve world hunger.... Just goes to show that rock does not need to be angry....
Pure perfection, aren’t they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure! Thanks Cody, for bringing the world's best hard rock band to your viewers! As for a song recommendation...? Any Band-Maid song you randomly choose will be awesome!
Band Maid and Nemophila are the two bands I have seen that both just ooze the fact they are having a blast playing. They are both in my top tier as far as music, add in the happy vibes..cannot wait to see them live.
Love your reaction! Akane, the drummer for the band is one of the most innovative drummer you can find with today's rock world. Glad you like her. BTW band members call her "gorilla". So far you have not checked out songs from their latest album some recommendation here. Warning Manners and Blackhole live (2 songs in same MV) Afterlife
I love Akane so much! She's the happiest drummer in rock and one of the best imo. Of course I love every member of Band-Maid and can't name my favorite because it changes constantly. Some other songs to check out, if you haven't already: Don't You Tell Me, Alone, Daydreaming, Puzzle, Choose Me, The Non-Fiction Days, Blooming, or basically anything they put out. Enjoy your trip down the pigeon-hole!
The thing about Band Maid is that even at their heaviest, and they can get quite heavy at times, it still isn’t dark and depressing. There’s always a ray of sunshine illuminating whatever darkness might be present in their sound. Example: “Rinne” music video.
Hey Dave even tho you don't see me comment on Mearcord (Discord is so un-userfriendly on my Tab), I saw your BAND-MAID playing cards. Very cool idea.🙂👍
Some of the earlier BAND-MAID songs had Saiki and Miku trading off on lead verses. Miku is also the lead/solo singer on a few BAND-MAID songs. They are: 'Summer Drive', 'Big Dad', 'Beauty and The Beast', 'TIME', 'Rock In Me' and 'サヨナキドリ - Nightingale'. She also has a more Pop focused side project called "cluppo". The cluppo EP titled 'hatofull', was released on March 9th, 2022. The songs 'Peace&Love', 'Flapping Wings' and 'POGO' all have music videos.
Funny the spectrum that Maidiacs approach the band from. For mine, I'm from the absolute opposite end - for the last 20 or 30 years, 90% of what I listen to is classical music. In part, that's because for most of that time there was very very little in the way of good solid rock around. Band-Maid have given me back that and I'm so very grateful for it. And it is wonderful to see them smiling and having fun with each other and having fun playing fun music. And it's as contagious as fuck!
If that's what you listen to all the time, that's how you'll feel all the time. You need BAND-MAID to put that BAND-MAID smile on your face. The Smile That Lasts For Miles! And this one is even more upbeat than usual. Get out my way! Back Off Go Away! It's like Schools Out! The Weekend Is Here! FREEDOM! That's better than a bunch of Doom & Gloom any day of the week! You should do 'Real Existence' LIVE next.
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Break the Wall, Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], DEXCORE [Red Eye], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance], SOKONINARU [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], BROKEN BY THE SCREAM [Emotion Cross-Counter], LYNCH [Devil], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], NEMOPHILA [Dissension], DADAROMA [Lucid Dream], JILUKA [Lluvia], HANABIE [We Love Sweets], A CROWD OF REBELLION [Re:Create of the Re:d], POLKADOT STINGRAY [any song], MUTANT MONSTERS [Abnormal], ASTERISM [Church], NOISEMAKER [Hunter or Prey], BiSH [The Night When Stars Twinkle], SCANDAL [A.M.D.K.J.], DEEP GIRL [I kill], Mrs. GREEN APPLE [Inferno], BRATS [I'm Glad You Didn't Care], THE ORAL CIGARETTES [Frenzy Hey Kids!!], Girugamesh [Drain], LiLiHoLi [From Darkness to Light], and many many more...
G'day Cody, you're already on board with the Maids... want to make it easier to talk about them? Time to learn some names: Saiki - lead vocals, some recent lyrics, bejewelled Queen of the stage Miku (aka Kobato) - rhythm guitar, second vocals, main lyrics, band founder, PR genius... our Pigeon (?...later) Kanami - lead guitar, main composer, sweet rockstar that transforms into the riff monster Mincho MISA - virtuoso bassist - on-stage-barefoot assassin - she'll get you before you see it coming Akane - smiling drummer - master of fills and feel, elevates _every_ song
Now you understand why Jimmy Page after watching Akane's drumming said that she was one of the best drummers that he's ever heard and that she reminded him of John Bonham. Saiki reminds me more of Alanis Morissette in her ability to change her vocal styles. As always Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!
Honestly, I am late to this party, but I will throw my suggestion in the hat for a great live Band Maid suggestion. I will suggest the performance of Don't You Tell Me. In this performance we see Kanami (guitar) and (Misa) bass having a heated musical discussion, with Akane (drums) moderating the conversation. Actually this song demonstrates this entire band in full musical flight. I agree with you about angry music. I always say that Band Maid is a breath of fresh air from scowling ugly guys dressed in black and showing us everything that they know in the first 20 seconds of their songs. These ladies smile and laugh and actually look like they really like each other and are having more fun than their audience (if that is possible). Sure there are better countless shredders in other bands, but Band Maid make better musical choices and are still amazing musicians and composers in a every department. And.. less importantly, I ain't going to lie, they are not hard to look at.
Isn't it weird how the so called 'Rhythm Section' can't just keep the Rhythm. We've got Misa playing lead bass lines up & down the neck the whole time, & Akane doing fills & runs & tunes around the kit the whole time. Every now & then they come together in unison, and then off they go again, on two divergent tangents. But man! Doesn't it sound so good. All the while in perfect sync with the guitars & vocal melodies. Such great song writing & structure.
You never hear Miku doing lead vocals? Originally when the band formed she was supposed to be the lead vocalist. Problem was she didn't have a rack singers voice. So they brought in Saiki. Just some info for you. A couple of requests: About Us and Daydreaming.
Band-Maid is happy music, brings a big smile every time I hear it! The scream rock/death metal just leaves me behind, can't deal with it, too negative for me. American music, in particular, is way to angry and depressing for the most part, unfortunately. More Band-Maid happiness for me!
When Band-Maid makes faces at the drummer they are trying to make her mess up or each other mess up ! When they smile i smile and i just love these girls ! "Real Existence" Live and "Play" Live are pretty good ones to react to ! Thanks Cody Great Reaction

Because Miku, the original lead singer, founder, and lyricist said, "My Way! My Way! My Way!," we now have the best live band on the planet.

@@greylocke100 Yeah. Misa is always playing lead bass lines in nearly every song.

How about a refreshing change up for a bit? Check out 16 year old Japanese guitar prodigy Li-sa-X Band - Looking Up To You. Beautifully written song.
If you want to see a live online choice, try "Manners - Black Hole" both ends of the spectrum of what these ladies can do, amazing!
