- This is my new Pedaltrain Classic 2 Pedalboard. I am well aware these pedalboards cost way more than they need to but I got a really great deal on one though a local store so I figured it was time to upscale.

that's a monster! very nice. I've got the classic 1 with flight case. great quality and the large gaps made it very easy to run cables. nice choice!
Great video, informative and helpful as always thanks Shane!
As a newbie to the world of pedals I wanted an affordable board for home.
Pedaltrain are pretty expensive, so I discovered the JOYO RDB2 for $80 NZ, which I would heartily recommend to all :)
Nice effects selection! I'm using a mix of JHS, Fulltone, wampler, Electro Harmonix and Keeley.
I was a little surprised at your surprise. That's because there is a great Pedal Train virtual pedalboard builder site (Google it) where you choose one of their boards and fill it up with your pedals. That way you can see which board you need before you get it. Also, I reckon you can put the pedals in any order that works for your foot, just so long as they are wired up and patched in the normal order (as you intended). I've just bought the same board and am now going to put it together.. Fun fun fun!
I use the 42- Terra because I play in stereo and I NEED both amp switchers on my effects board too. Now with ten or twelve effects and both amp switchers I barely have enough room on the Terra-42 for much more. Because of the feet and the loose bottom of my VOX wah I drilled through the chassis to be able to use zip ties to hold it down to my board. The rest are velcro'd.
Oh, the eternal debate! :)
I have 2 boards, just like that: a small one for gigs/rehearsals and a larger one. But the larger one is actually just a place to stick all of the pedals not on the small board; I learned a long time ago that the board changes to frequently and is never 'done'. It was so much work to keep rewiring it! So, not it is my pedal buffet table! :)
I had the mini too. It was great, but could only fit like 5 pedals and a small power supply. Now I have the Novo 24 and need to fill it up!
was hoping to see you mount a power supply
Shane, a suggestion. If you're gunna run that long cable from the drive to the modulation stuff; try putting the tuner at the end of the drive pedals. Since boss has buffers, it might help as far as signal loss. Idk how much it would change your tone, but it's a thought. Howdy from Texas!
Very helpful thanks!
instead of coming clear across from the bottom row to the top...reverse the order of the top row so you're just going up 1 pedal (top row will then go left to right)...that's if you don't want the longer cable, but I don't see it being a big deal. excellent pedal choices btw...should really rock!
Nice upgrade, you should do some pedal giveaways to spread some pedal love, also helps drive some more traffic to the channel.
problem with pedals are, if you're a lefty (as i am too), the in and outs are on the wrong side of EVERY pedal. that makes it a little harder when wiring up a pedalboard. I ended up keeping my vol-wah pedals off the board so i can place it where i want it on the floor. if you put it on the angled pedalboard, it feels funny when you use it. i like it flat on the floor. i suppose i could get use to it eventually, but after 25+ years of it a certain way, its not that easy to change it.
As for power I use a voodoo power 2 plus AND an MXR Brick in unison.
dude i could recomend pedaltrain metro 20 as a small step up from the mini you can fit 2-3 more pedals (depending on the size) on the board :)
You could also:
- get wood
- get screws
- get velcro
- put it all together
;)
Sounds like a good excuse to get another Wah to me !!! . ha ha wah wah !!! :) Try the Jam Wachko or get hold of a good condition purple Budda Budwah.
I went with the pedaltrain jr classic. Hard to get classic 1 model in Australia and I thought the classic 2 was too big for what I wanted. I was originally going to put a Wah on the board but I prefer the feel of rocking a Wah on the flat ground as opposed to on an angled pedalboard, also they're kinda hard to affix to pedalboard unless you're going with something more permanent
I have that one and I love it!!
I Agree with Everything you said in the 1st 1:10. Pedaltrain needs to Listen to you = Wider / Not Deeper.
Good idea getting the bigger pedalboard, mate! Now you get to put more of those wondrous tone devices at once!
Cheers Ben :)
you're the best !!
Shane do you intend to run the mod and delay pedals through the effects loop or just into the front of the amp. Also are you going to use a buffer? Regards Mark
xotic sp compressor?
Why didn't they leave portal holes in the back, to mount a voodoo lab power? Do these power bricks still fit underneath the pedal train like before? There might be a problem to connect the AC cable.
Svi mini board!
I've always wondered by those pedal boards are so pricey.
Im right handed and use my right foot for my wah.
Alex Zalesny same
Nice pedals! What do you use to power them up?
A visual sound 1 spot. ☺️
You should do a giveaway... haha great video.
I did one recently but I have another one coming up in a few weeks. :-)
You might want to try a GIGRIG QUARTERMASTER......They are AWESOME! Love mine! Are you comfortable with your WAH on the board?
What a monster ! How many Boss (standard) pedals will it hold ? It's big. I loved that Wampler tape echo v2. l would leave the clean boost instead of the fuzz. You already have 2 drives stacked. OK, lets see what you do & Blues On....
I think it can hold 10 regular boss pedals depending on which patch cables you decide on. 😎
I completely agree that there needs to be a board that is 24 to 32 inches wide but no kore Han 2 bars deep.
hey i have been wanting to buy one and i was wondering how much did you spend to get that (if you dont mind me asking)
I think it was around $280 in Australia from memory.
Ok, you just kicked that model out of the race. A bag without an additional front-bag is a no-go for me.
woohooo!!!
You don't like small tuners?? You should change for the turbo tuner, is nice small and super accurate
Btw there's the metro series which it might be what you were looking for
You consider that big? I thought that was the normal size haha
No Boss pedals
not big enough, shane! LoL ... you need grande, my friend (^^)
😂 hehe thanks mate!
Break down and buy a pedalboard wiring kit
Im a righty and use my right foot for the wah. I think that pedal board is to much for you, just send it to me and i will use it lol.
I'm using the 42 inch Terra. Now,the new one you got is my second board. My problem with pedaltrain is the bag for the smaller one is thick and has a pocket. The bag for the Terra-42 is a piece of shit! Not the same quality at all! The hard shell case weighs a ton and I couldn't imagine EVER using it ! Put it is a piece of shit! You were so right! They are cheap fucks!
too small for me. :D
😂
I complained to pedaltrain about the effects bag and all I got was an apology and a t-shirt. By the way the T-shirt was complete shit. They go as cheaply as they can get away with! I dare you to look at the welds on the pedalboard. They look like a child welded it! If I built cabinets like they weld their boards together I would be out of buisiness in a month!
