I've been inside a mascot suit at a parade high-fiving people of all ages before, and those things are at times hard to see in, you can mostly and only see straight in front of you, barely up, down, and side by side. At 1st I thought that the mascot couldn't see the children, than the 2nd video made it very clear that he/she stood right in front of the two girls and directly brushed them off. Yeah, they are doing it on purpose, for whatever reason, I guess we'll find out.
I think those girls were a bit out of bounds. Notice how they seem to be the only kids almost in the middle of the street. Mascot didn't want to say hello to probably avoid more kids on the street as it's a parade and there's a huge vehicle on the back.

@@stealth1077 yup. That wasn’t my up bringing, I grew up in white/Asian suburbia and never saw black people until I turned 18 and decided to move. Met my husband, learned a whole lot from him, he grew up poor, in oak cliff texas. Had a hard life. I’ve seen people treat him differently or harass him first hand because of his skin color, it breaks my heart. I never knew that racism was still a huge issue until I left my bubble. You tend to know what you see, so a lot of people in my up bringing are terribly ignorant to these things, because it doesn’t happen to us and we don’t see it happen to others because we don’t know people from different backgrounds and ethnicities like that. I think that’s why there’s such a huge disconnect between a lot of rich white or Asian people and the struggles of black and Hispanic people. Colorism is a huge issue especially in black communities, I think it’s caused by self loathing that’s shown up over time because of all of the hate the rest of society has put on them. Mixed people also have a bad experience, they’re objectified but also not generally accepted as a black person or as a white person, even though they’re both, and still face discrimination. We live in a very gross and discriminatory society. I worry about my children as I know they’re gonna run into those issues being mixed. Anyone can be racist towards any group. And all forms of racism from any person or group, needs to be dealt with.
@@thatstrangebuggirl4150 I have never been treated differently from white people. I do believe that Latinos have a less difficult time mixing with other cultures. I personally have not dealt with racism from whites or Asians, mainly Hispanics and blacks. I believe the black community will continue this circle until race gets blurred by all the interracial relationships. At least in the US the crime rate is statistically showing black individuals are committing more crimes. This is because of how far back they are financially because of slavery and racism that other groups find it easier to discriminate against black people. Hopefully one day we can get past color.

How about all of the times that they had to go back and "ignored" white kids. Was that a problem also? I have been going to theme parks for over 30 years and they have a limit on who they can interact with and then they just have to stop. It has NOTHING to do with race, age, or gender. Imagine spending your life helping others trying to make the world a better place and some out of state @$$hole doesn’t like that you were served before him in a restaurant and because he hates Black people but knows absolutely nothing about you later decides to run you off the road and kill you? It’s not just the pain of being a good child who is rejected by her childhood idol, it is also about teaching people not to hate people simply because of their skin color, because today it is shaking your head and hands no at little Black children, later it turns into running somebody off of a cliff because no one has told you that your behavior is unacceptable. If people think it’s not a big deal, stop and think about Hitler and his extermination of as many people who were Jewish as possible. Think about Native Americans being called “savages” and thought that gave them permission to slaughter every Native American they could because Native Americans felt that they were more one with nature, it made them “savages” - pure lack of respect for other people and how they live their lives. Despite the fact that their connection to nature did not take anything away from their lives and the mass, mass, mass, mass amounts of land that is in the North American continent. @@angelanelson5113 We can go in circles about what Sesame Street should represent and how it should reflect it in their services, as well as how these theme parks should operate in general when it comes to "inclusion", but the bottom line is there has yet to be any convincing evidence presented this was in fact racism. There's no evidence these kids were intentionally ignored or that this happens regularly to children "of color", let alone that the motives were due to racism. All I'm seeing is two instances of kids not being waved at in video clips that are under 5 seconds long, a pathetic-looking parent making sad faces for the camera and money-hungry lawyers engaging in self-righteous grandstanding. Furthermore, the only way these kids are going to suffer any actual trauma is if their parents convince them to be traumatized, which I'm sure they are doing.
Im Mexican. My children gets snub 50 percent of the time or more when i go to any theme park. I dont believe its done intentionally there are so many kids but I also see white kids getting snub as well.
Exactly! We're just not seeing non-black people getting "snubbed" because they're not putting their incidents on camera and posting it, playing the victim/race card, exploiting their children for money and attention. Besides, judging from the clips in this news video, the characters had already walked those children, so it's hard to tell whether they really got snubbed.
People want to play the victim and race card because theyre extremely bored with their relatively comfortable lives. They have to go out of their way to victimize themselves by creating made-up problems and get their 15 minutes of fame on tv, but little do they realize how stupid they look. This is what happens when America has turned into a participation trophy society.
Gesturing no to the two little girls doesn't mean racism because right before that she shook her finger at a guy as a "no-no" so the character was in a "no-no" train of thought and it's not necessarily a racist reaction to the two girls immediately following that, but more a "no, this I've had enough". So you’re telling me that every other kid with lighter skin in the entire sesame place amusement park didn’t get ignored by any of the characters? Every single kid of other races besides black kids got a high five from every character?🤔 I’m sorry I’m in the business of common sense.
What don't you get about this situation? Rather than give a high-five- the character ACTUALLY GESTURED AN EMPHATIC NO! He could have just as easily have granted the child's request with less energy. This isn't an NBA game with adults, these are children. It is just good ethics; if you despise other races OR KIDS, then DO NOT WORK IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR, AND ESPECIALLY NOT WITH KIDS. This isn't a case of "victimology" either- which isn't particularly played according to the black race; KAREN'S and KEVIN'S have shown us that! If you don't see that these children are actually being SNUBBED- it's because you don't WANT to see it. You are part of the problem.

It's kind of hard to see in those costumes, I don't think the ppl are being "racist". They just can't interact with every single individual. I feel bad for the kids but it's not what everyone is making it out to be, let's be honest. A mistake that can be fixed.

$25 million dollar, hard earned money. I can't imagine being in that costume with blur vision, and its like 100 degree outside. Having to keep my arms up for more than 5 min, this would burned out anyone. Its not like they pick up a mic and drop the N words lol
This is completely facts because when you wear those haloween costumes and they wear the exact same thing but way thicker and also when you are in 80 degrees +heat you are most likely going to get tired really fast and also what would money even do no one was injured it makes no sense at all
How can we claim this is a racist act when you don’t know who is behind the costume??!! You don’t know if it’s a white or black person! And I had friends and know people who have worked there and majority of the people in the costumes from what they shared are black high school kids. What will the family do if the person is revealed to be black??!! This is almost laughable. So I guess if Mickey or Elmo or any other character skips over your child in a parade where there are hundreds or thousands of people they are racist. Please stop it lol let’s look at regular celebrities it’s the same thing…Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, they will try to reach out and touch and interact with as many people as possible but they have to cut it off eventually. They have to move on. Just like presidents as well. Just because they didn’t high five you or shake your hand doesn’t mean it’s a racist act.

They actually don’t care about their own. They see a money making opportunity & exploiting the girl for profit; while still brainwashing this little girl to think the whole world is out to get her.
Where are the full encounters? Those clips do not clarify whether those little girls were actually ignored or whether an act of racism was actually committed. We are only shown a brief moment of what occurred after the characters had already walked past those children. So, it looks like the characters didn't/couldn't see them, but we are led to believe that they snubbed them out of racism. Why not show us the clips in full or a long enough video of one parade, so we can discern for ourselves if only black children are getting snubbed by particular characters? Even if one character legitimately snubs one black child, that doesn't mean he or she in the character costume is racist. All this just seems like another ploy to keep racism on the forefront of everyone's minds. The media wants us all divided and thinking that racism is more prevalent than it really is.

Gesturing no to the two little girls doesn't mean racism because right before that she shook her finger at a guy as a "no-no" so the character was in a "no-no" train of thought and it's not necessarily a racist reaction to the two girls immediately following that, but more a "no, this I've had enough". I know that Jim Henson is watching this from Heaven and is in stunned disbelief to see how an organization that he had created with various other talented artists and performers be tarnished this way. Life isn't fair. Sesame Place should simply NOT allow any children or any costumed characters to touch at all. Be done with it completely IF they manage to keep the doors open after all the lawsuits in which children have been "traumatized for life" for not getting a high five from a man in a costume.
They're explanation was that the suit disrupts their vision. Well it sure didn't disrupt them giving every Caucasian kid a high five
Ok Social Justice Weirdo
Imagine being so petty that you file a lawsuit for not getting attention 💀😂 actually pathetic, people will file a lawsuit for anything nowadays
The parents have that right especially due to their children being racial discriminated
Only in America 🇺🇸
@@TodayismyBirthday923 These people are so mean spirited they think discriminating against certain children is normal. This is why I don't allow my children around them. They will abuse your children and act surprised when you react.
imaging being so petty you gotta comment 💀💀💀💀💀
@@charmaineespeut4627 Exactly and kudos to the parents that are filing a lawsuit
GMA is now celebrating black privilege and frivolous lawsuits. Way to go!!! Let's get woke!!!!!!!!!
Fr tho it’s common for mascots to miss seeing you and not give you any interaction or anything like that, so I don’t understand why they need to be sued over this.
The second clip with Rosita however, that was just straight up rude and disrespectful
Any well educated person could honestly see what the purpose of the law suit is... $$$$$.
Well sesame Street is going to be out of business and that also includes all the people that work there that are going to be out of a job lawsuit after lawsuit. If they want this to work Eventually they will probably get rid of all the costume characters and just place statues where kids can probably just take pictures and they won't be no discrimination.
I wish my parents would have sued when I was a kid. I was always ignored and passed over in any event. People in costumes would ignore me and one time the news intereviewed every kid in my school club, but they skipped me. Only me. They didnt even asked me if I wanted to be skipped over. Even my own teachers would ignore me. 😔
I would be rich right now. 😭👌
Well ur lucky u don’t live with them anymore it was probably their fault
Same, but I don’t really care. As long as I treat people good as an adult.
@@griselgriselda2901 yep and u treat ur kids or whoever the way u wished u were treated
Being an ugly kid was hard, huh?
So sorry to hear that. People is so cruel :(
When they responded they will “train them”. LMAO you gonna train your employees to not be racists?! Just get new employees who are actually good people.
right.. they should be firing these f*cking people..
Ok, SJW
what the actual?? so because they dont high five every single child its racism??????? its not in your civil rights to get high fived by a character........... wtf
Hello Sara
How are you doing? I hope you are doing great?
My son got ignored I'm not mad this just she wants a payout
I am black but my childhood is already ruin
What will come of this, many will go there and take videos hoping to catch another character doing something that seems wrong, so the park will start having the costume characters avoid touching or hugging all kids as Disney did because of COVID.
You are really slow...you floks only see what you want to see and deny anything went it's not you or your kind facing it...but I swear to God you wouldn't want to switch place for a month let alone a year
Good if you can’t treat all kids fairly then you shouldn’t be allowed to closely interact with Any.
@Al Cahallic Possibly but, then again, it will be undeniable that racial discrimination is taking place.
Finally some equality
White man !!!
Boo hooo the little girl didn’t get a fucking high five so let’s sue sesame land for 25 mil
Okay but it's not worth millions of dollars. I'm sorry that this is your only way to get a check. People have way too much time on their hands.
So these kids are taught that if you have a beef about the littlest things, sue on the basis of race. That will ensure Blacks will never move ahead.
YEAH RIGHT 500 YEARS OF INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM HAS DONE THAT ALREADY TO A LOT OF BLACKS, BUT THANK GOODNESS NOT TO ALL OF US. OBVIOUSLY U DONT KNOW WTF UR TALKING ABOUT SO STFU!!!!!!
Since when do the actions of these money-hungry parents reflect ALL black people? Idiotic generalizations like yours is why the race conversation is still happening. Shut up.
$25M ??? Kids will be set for life and mama will no longer have to walk The Stroll.
Those little girls will be "traumatized for life" by their own kind thousands of times over their lifetimes and they want to sue a Muppet?????
These people are punka$$ crazy and the lawyers should be disbarred.
I said the same thing to yo mama when she was on the stroll. You do know who yo daddy is?
Leave it to the professional victims to ruin everything they are like a vile disease

The fragility of this community is embarrassing

Says the guy who was handed everything in life, free, because of his white skin.
Meanwhile Trump fairly loses, and his supporters STORM THE CAPITOL!
@@JessicaChastainFan Nothing is free in life that you are white black yellow....and I myself have experienced discrimination. @@JessicaChastainFan Why is your brain full of shit? Are you Biden's son? Dickhead?
bro this is stupid i never got high fived by those guys and i wasnt even upset about it
What a joke. This is disgusting what the family is doing. This has happened to us at Sesame and Disney World and there was never a thought to sue.
What a ridiculous reply. It did make me laugh so thanks
What’s your ethnicity
It has no bearing. If this was a Hispanic or white family I would say the exact same thing.
I just hope a Judge throws this out and that Sesame doesn’t give in.
If Sesame does give in and pay these snowflakes off then that is just the start of more this nonsense.
@Siobhan Fogarty like
Your mom
Frivolous lawsuit from people who probably pay for an entire meal at Denny's with a coupon. No wonder no country respects us.
They don't respect people like you.
Hahahaha you could have not saying better
Would this mean that any child who doesn't get a high five gets money? Does the character now have to high five every single kid, every single show, like they are under contract to do so? Does a bird poop on you because you are black? Does nothing just happen by coincidence?
This is the most dumbest thing I've ever witnessed. I hope it goes to court just so the facts come out to absolutely demolish the egos of people that think every action and inaction of their surrounding environment doesn't revolve around them. Utterly pathetic.
"most dumbest" yeah, you're inbred.
They actually don’t care about their own. They see a money making opportunity & exploiting the girl for profit; while still brainwashing this little girl to think the whole world is out to get her.
Omg we’re gonna sue for everything now Jesus take the wheel already
Bigger problems on this earth than this shit
Right?????
Imagine putting your kid through a court case though 😂 I’d be embarrassed
Easier than try to explain to a child why she is being ignored, while others aren't.
@@Rob774 easy, teach your child not to be a victim over something so ridiculous. This is how America is turning into a nation of participation trophies. What a joke!
@@chrisjackson8151 I'll teach my child to not be a victim, when you teach yours not to discriminate.

Parents looking for that 💰. Cmon now black people in America straight up claiming everything to be involved with skin color. And the more it happens the more people only start to see skin color and forget about what really makes people different: their behavior. I myself am black and I see it all the time. Don’t jump the gun and start assuming because that don’t make you better than those who accusing you of whatever you do because of your skin color.
They can't see all the kids in those costumes. All this will do is make it so that the characters aren't allowed to high five any kids.
THIS IS JUST SAD😥
Please now puppets are racist ? This is why adults screw everything up. Get a life and a job.
the ernie incident might be caused by limited vision from inside the mascot... but the second video(taken prior the ernie video) where there was a gesture of refusal, that is unacceptable. i was shocked to see it.
There seem to be a lot of comments lamenting how kids get affected by this. What is interesting how a certain race continually insists it is fighting racism and slavery and the horrific treatments their ancestors had to put up with over decades - then when a cartoon character walks past their kids it's grounds for a multimillion dollar lawsuit. Their ancestors would be proud.
We fight racism on all levels, not just when it gets severe like lynching and slavery like you said.
@@saknuzz7995 How exactly is a character walking past those girls racism? The video shows it walking along past many people.
@@darz3829 well if a certain "race of people" left people alone in the first place then we probably wouldnt be having these conversations
