If there is a “no touch” zone, it should be all-inclusive and the characters shouldn’t be allowed to “touch” anyone at all, hence the adult that was high-fived prior to his reaching the two little girls that were snubbed.
What I see are two girls crossing the yellow boundary line while trying to touch the costumed character and the character telling them not to do that. No racism, just rules.

@@conservativedragon it's literally at a child's amusement park if they can't see children why be in costumes going around in a parade?! One of the explanations I have heard, was that The first lady reaches out to wave/high five and wanted the character to stop for a picture, holding her child which is not allowed.... Rosita shakes her head "No"....and sees the 2 girls standing next to the FIRST woman and probably figuring that these were the 2 intended for the picture, and Rosita again, shakes her head no. This all happens in 9 seconds, so I dunno.
I would have went for a lot of the excuses....UNTIL others produced more videos of the same character not acknowledging little black kids & then acknowledging white kids beside them. In this case, you can't look directly at 2 kids, express NO to them through gestures & then claim you didn't see them. We all have preferences whether we admit it or not; however, you can't discriminate against innocent kids. Its disgusting!
This is a very one-sided conversation on a charged issue, and the takeaway for eternity is: the employee was racist, needs to be terminated, and the park's policies are discriminatory. The problem is, not a single person in this conversation was there, has any idea what the policies are, and doesn't have any information about/from the employee. If the investigation shows racism--great, good call on all of the above and let's make things better and I'm certain it will be covered by ABC. However, if any of these claims turn out to be an actual misunderstanding or worse, a hustle, the story will fade into the ether and the record will never be corrected that SP is a racist, awful place. The media HAS TO DO BETTER when it comes to allegations.

in another news conference the mom stated that the character hugged the little white girl next to them, although it was not seen in the video. why were the two little black girls ignored? are these events fully recorded by Sesame Street? I believe so for security reasons. If the mom is telling the truth, then Sesame Street's original statement put out to the public that the costume sometimes makes it hard to see at lower levels was a lie and a cover-up.
I'm not trying to provoke division as we should all love one another. if this was truly a misunderstanding, then so be it; but if not, then the employee should be held accountable.

PERHAPS the employee didn't see the two children (who just so happen to be African American), BUT said employee should have been trained to SCAN, VERTICALLY to ensure said employee made EVERY VISIBLE ATTENDEE IS RECOGNIZED, ACKNOWLEDGED, APPRECIATED, and made to feel ACCEPTED. In this situation, it would not have taken anything more than "high fiving" the two children. Absolutely disgusting, stop the excuses! These characters have been snubbing children of color for years now, that is one of the main reasons we don’t support these parks! So glad they are focusing on this issue.
I noted here people were snubbed, included the two little girls which the Rosita character saw. She clearly looks down and give a different dismissive hand gesture. First to shake her finger as a no at the woman requesting the baby to be held, then downward at the two little girls which is a blow-off hand gesture. Apparently it's not the first time with this character.
Let's just keep the characters on the floats and people behind a rope then no contacts like this will not happen. The character can just wave and the kids can wave back. Listen to officer Tatum explanation. After watching this video several times and listening to his explanation I think he hit it on the head. Where is the video showing he hugged the other kid? If you going to say it put the evidence out there.
I personally don’t believe this is a racism inccident, i think there is probably a resonant explanation. in the video we can see that the girl that we igroned were standing outside the yellow line which i suppose that you should stay behind it to insure the person in the custome safety and the viewer. secondly it look like the girls are reaching out for hugs which i think the employee is not allowed to do, while the other people were getting high-fives. The person in the coustume can’t simple stop and give them high fives because the parade has to be moving, while the other people already were ready to give high fives. I first thought this was a act of racism but viewing the video a couple times i felt like it was a mistake
I agree with you 100%. And your right! It isn’t racism! I talked to one of the employees myself. They said it wasn’t racism. The media is making up lies, and people are editing videos to suit a narrative. I’m not for that narrative. It’s not racism. It’s a misunderstanding.
Sesame street was started so black children could have positive educational programs. And look what it has turned into. IT'S DISGUSTING. "Rosita" looked right at those babies and denied them but was able to look down and see the child to their left and shake their hand.
I was there last week, all the characters were tucked on the moving vehicles and we're not walking around like before, and Rosita were no where to find.
I grew up with Sesame Street back in the 1970s. I can honestly say this would never happen if these parks were around back then because things weren't as big of a corporate entity back then.
As a character there to entertain children You dont high five adults and pass up children The park is for the kids They should be given a season pass to go there whenever they want all expenses paid by the Theme Park
Did anyone else notice how the reporter danced around mentioning the other ethnicities? “Do we know if they are black or brown?” Also, the word white was never used in this news clip.
Intentional or not what the point of bringing my kids to this place if they can't interact with characters what the point of paying money if you can't get that experience
The girls clearly broke the boundary by reaching out across the yellow line to touch the costumed character. That is a safety violation and it is usually announced prior a parade not to cross the line and to wait for the characters to come to you. This is for the safety of the child so not to start a stampede or get hurt by the parade vehicles. No crossing the line or reaching out to touch the people in the parade!! And in another video of the SAME INCIDENT THE GREEN THING IS PAYING ATTENTION TO A WHITE KID NEXT TO THEM. WHAT IS GOING ON? LITTLE BLACK GIRLS ATTENDING SESAME PLACE ARE NOT TREATED FAIRLY FOR SOME ODD REASON, WHY??? WHAT'S THE DEAL???
I really wonder how all the people who find this incident amusing and who scornfully tell people to 'get over it', will feel if the kids who were snubbed and ignored belonged to THEIR RACE!
Because the people who tell others to get over it are Karens. It personally doesbt effect or bother them UNTIL it happens to them then all of a sudden they start complaining and crying saying that their kids got snubbed and act like the victims. It's a joke honestly I feel so sorry for those poor children because that must have felt very terrible and hurtful. 🙁😔
We tell our kids. That person was a jerk or was too preoccupied. Move on, and learn. To accept that the world doesn't revolve around us. Whatever they did, is their problem.

"...the costumes our performers wear sometimes make it difficult to see at lower levels...".
If anyone believes that they are a fool and a half. If that's the case then that would be a safety hazard. And, I see some people are making excuses for "Rosita", when it's no excuse for it. That person should be fired by now. These characters supposed to be there to entertain LITTLE KIDS, which means they should be mostly looking down. They don't have to look down that far. Those 2 girls were at a good distance from that character when they first had their hands out for a hug, or high five. They didn't want "Rosita" to pick them up. And for anyone who thinks it's not a big deal, then you're part of the problem, it is a big deal. These performers/ mascots are "supposed" to be there to entertain little children, and put smiles on their faces. That was a complete failure, along with some of these other videos that are now resurfacing on the internet.
I use to work at chuckie cheese and it’s really hard to see down in the costume. Also it’s standard for the kids to be on stage at eye level so you can see them. My god not everything is about race, think about the employees making barely minimum wage in that hot costume.
The march has a rate of movement. One cannot stop for anyone.
If sesame place doesn’t want you around and snub’s you, vote with your feet! Just don’t go there!

This is a bit of ironic too, as someone who has done children's programs off and on over the decades. I always showed all children equality like my idol Johnny Depp who not getting paid anything still dresses up as Jack Sparrow to make kids happy in hospitals. Then whomever this is they are getting paid and if they did do these horrible acts and it isn't an unfortunate situation. Then Johnny Depp in his free time is better to kids than a paid and trained performer at a children's park how unfortunate indeed.
Does every black person have a lawyer on speed dial and camera's waiting? I have never seen a culture pull the race card so often, is anything not racist to them?
U don't treat kids like that an there is more video dummy

I’m black, and this is not racist to me. I know the truth. I have seen the proof. It is not racist. The media is creating a narrative, and it’s pissing me off. @Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman...Assuming you're not black or brown, oh how I wish you were right now so you could see and feel. The race card is imaginary, created by those with no clue or experience of this real life BS. Our whole life is discrimination on redial. @@missy652 I will say this, you’re experience is valid. But to group in a black individual like myself in and say that I have the same experience is you is confusing. How about we focus on real issues. This is just ridiculous but the rosita clip is funny as hell.
Except for the fact that the puppet gave hi-fives to one white little girl and one white adult prior to snubbing the two little black girls. You, yourself, are part of the problem.
Of course you see what you wanna see.
They didn’t pass the yellow line ? They were leaning forward a little to reach out for the character. Little odd if you have to lean forward even though you are outside of bounds.

I thought the same thing until other videos were posted of the same charAfter walking pass black children theres 5 different videos
The child was a WHITE baby 👶 she knew it was not those little girls it's 2022 racism is still alive and probably will always be here
I would have went for a lot of the excuses....UNTIL others produced more videos of the same character not acknowledging little black kids & then acknowledging white kids beside them. In this case, you can't look directly at 2 kids, express NO to them through gestures & then claim you didn't see them. We all have preferences whether we admit it or not; however, you can't discriminate against innocent kids. Its disgusting!
You really look for a defense for this fool
There are more videos out now and she kept doing it , she even leaned towards a small black child then pulled away giving a white adult a high 5 .
It looks like rosita was saying no to a parent not the child.
There are videos of this similar behavior towards other black kids.

It’s only when Brown’s attorney claimed that he had video evidence of that not being true. He said he would let them fix this issue before he releases it. That’s when Sesame Place made another apology saying “that it wasn’t ok.” That tells me that their first apology was a lie and it wasn’t until they got threatened that they decided to really try and save their skin.
yup, how many kids you think they see a day, and how many go unnoticed, but because a video of two black kids skipped which probs happens to any kid 200 times a day. idk this seems like the wrong thing to get mad at without facts. but then again a dude can shoot up a police station and still get support so idk

in another news conference the mom stated that the character hugged the little white girl next to them, although it was not seen in the video. why were the two little black girls ignored? are these events fully recorded by Sesame Street? I believe so for security reasons. If the mom is telling the truth, then Sesame Street's original statement put out to the public that the costume sometimes makes it hard to see at lower levels was a lie and a cover-up.
I'm not trying to provoke division as we should all love one another. if this was truly a misunderstanding, then so be it; but if not, then the employee should be held accountable.
A women who says she's dressed as rosita at a different park claims that you can see in the costume, there's a little lever they use to open the mouth slightly so they can see and if they hold they're head up they can see put of the eyes.
Funny she forgot to video tape that part. Only videos what works to start a lawsuit is always shown nothing from the beginning to the end only what will benefit their claims of racism and money... Always a circus show wherever they go...your going to always see a show wheather it be claims of racism, rioting, violence with guns when in large groups killing each other more than any other ethnic groups combined and yet racism is their biggest problem.. of course the only thing that pays money is to ride the racism train.. Nothing to benefit with anything else. I guess people don't have any morels anymore just their hands out to hard to work for anything easier to have it handed to you... In this situation, it would not have taken anything more than "high fiving" the two children. INSTEAD, they were grievously omitted from the momentary jubilance of this parade ... you need only look at the disappointment (HURT) expressed by these children after BEING TOTALLY IGNORED by this Sesames Street character (EMPLOYEE) to know that NOT EVERYONE gets a complete, joyous experience.
