“I have decided that I don’t care anymore about looking cool. I just want to buy things that make me happy.” Dude, this is an amazing quote! I am implementing this in my life right now!
man i can't believe I've been watching your videos for 20 weeks , i have never followed something so religiously for weeks. the reason is probably that your videos are just so good keep it up my guy
An underrated Canadian author you need to read is Douglas Coupland. His novels are creative and quietly humorous. Girlfriend in a Coma, Microserfs, Generation X, Jpod and so many more.
You'll love The Door. Edith Wharton is my favourite American novelist; she's the first woman to win the Pulitzer for The Age of Innocence (I've read that 4 times), but The House of Mirth is definitely a close 2nd favourite. I can't wait to hear what you say about Wharton. I'm reading Go Ask Alice, it's a cool 50 year edition book and I just finished This Book Will Save Your Life- a super fun read and has a lot of good stuff for someone who is struggling with regrets. I'm the opposite of you- I read most of my life and now, I've not been reading. I love the book haul. P.S.- The Glass Castle is the best memoir ever. P.P.S.- I never watched the OC when it aired but watched it on Netflix and became obsessed with it
Neil Gaiman!!! So freaking good - I think he also has a Master Class. AND I love when he’s the reader of his audiobooks! Pretty please explore his books - I’d love to hear your thoughts on his writing!
Currently about 700 pages into Way of Kings for the first time and loving it. My favorite fiction book I’ve read this year though is because of your channel, Small Things Like These!
Hello 💮 I liked this video very much Keep making more videos like this I love it. By the way, if you pay a little attention to video editing i.e. insert B-roll properly then it will be very easy to understand the topic.
The Glass Castle. This book literally changed my life and is one that I talk about constantly. You will not want to put it down, and you will want to call your parents every day after reading it. I look forward to hearing your review. I read it in literally one day while I was a sophomore in high school.
YES! The Door was one of my favorite reads from last year. Beautiful, wrenching, and gripping story. Song of Solomon is my most recent read and my favorite of this year and favorite Morrison book! Will be top five for sure.
Heaven & Earth is so good. It has sat with me for weeks now, since I finished it, and I just love the characters. I recently read Chain-Gang All-Stars, and was so surprised how much I loved it-it’s a book that I think you’d enjoy. And I’m currently in the middle of The Reformatory-my first horror novel, if it can be described as that. 1950’s Jim Crow setting. It’s really good-another one I could see you liking. Another great vid-thanks!
Same!! Read Chain Gang in March & Heaven & Earth Grocery store last month, and really enjoyed them both. Also currently a quarter through The Reformatory as well.
The Door is amazing - communist 60's Poland. Giovanni's Room is excellent, although I haven't read it in years - gay love story. I'm in Philadelphia, and we have a Giovanni's Room bookstore here. ☺
Love it Nick when you share books i have never heard of and talk about bookstores and libraries,so inspiring because i live in Sweden and we dont have bookstores and so many libraries like you do(so its a treat to watch all your videos!!!). So glad i found you!!!
I read "The Door" recently...very different, bizarre. I have ordered "Stoner" -- can't wait to read it! Shirley Jackson is brilliant. I love James Baldwin...excellent choice! Re: Margaret Atwood...are you talking about the Master Class? The Glass Castle is very good.
Hey Nick! I'm not sure if you have been to A Different Drummer books in Burlington, but if not, you should check it out! It's in an old house in downtown Burlington and I think you would like it! Love ya! ❤️
Masterclass! Margot Atwood's one was fantastic, glad you picked her book up. She has a collection of essays as well that are great. Can't wait to hear what you think of her stuff! Also, I picked up Greenwood by Michael Christie, sounds so interesting!
Man, i read Giovannis Room last month and it's one of my all time favourites now. The characters are so complex and feel so real, im excited to hear what you think about it! Also, I just finished "the one-hundred-year-old man who climbed out of the window and disappeared, very different vibe, but one of the funniest books i've read. Definitely a big recommendation.
As a father I based my parenting off of the Dad from 10 Things I Hate About you, my oldest daughter is now 14 so I have to buy a pregnancy suit, great video as always and my spine breaker shirt came this week- love it super comfy and fits perfect! Cheers
Loved the update! If you ever get the chance, maybe try reading American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins. I read it awhile back and it's really interesting and good!
I just finished Song of Solomon and it blew my mind. Instant new top 10 for me. The characters and prose were beyond belief. I hope you pick that as your next Morrison (which would make sense cause it’s her third novel after The Brightest Eye and Sula;) ) and I’m excited to hear your thoughts.
The Secret History is a great book and she is great writer. Unfortunately, The Goldfinch was a slog that I didn't finish. I got about halfway through and gave up. I got that far because she is a compelling writer but she tends to tell convoluted stories that start off intriguing but ultimately go nowhere (looking at you, The Little Friend, ugh). The books don't deliver on their promise. The only book that doesn't happen with is The Secret History.
"Masterclass!" 😉😉 How do you find the time to do all of that reading? That said, I've gotten through The Stand, as recommended by you (loved it) and am about half way through 11/22/63 and am loving it even _more._ So, thanks!
I have just bought "The Green Mile" by Stephen King. Do you think it is worth reading?? Another thing. Did you read "Metro 2033?" I bought it yersterday because I loved the video game of it. It has a good reputation.
John William's incredible work of art, Stoner, hurts the algorithm? I was considering doing a booktube channel, but if I can't say the name of my favorite book then forget it.
Nick - will you please read “little, big” so that I don’t have to? It sounds like something you’d enjoy but I want you to do it first because I am scared
Honestly, I've been reading the Secret History on and off sporadically for like the past three or four years - and I'm just over half way through. The writing's good, love Donna Tartt, but Secret History is so boring.

Good stuff man. Im currently working through 11/22/63 and The Rise & Fall of the Dinosaurs. Enjoying both!
Didn't know you were a photographer! That's so awesome, man! 😊
Just wait until week 52!
I read Neverwhere well over a year ago and I still think about it all the time! I loved it so much 🖤
man i can't believe I've been watching your videos for 20 weeks , i have never followed something so religiously for weeks. the reason is probably that your videos are just so good keep it up my guy

I love your vibe, thanks for recommending The Day The Crayons Came Home in a previous video. It's now one of my daughter's favorites!
The frog is awesome. He could totally be the channel mascot. You could take name suggestions.😊
Love book hauls! You’re videos got me out of my reading slump 🤓
Hello 💮
I liked this video very much
Keep making more videos like this I love it.
By the way, if you pay a little attention to video editing i.e. insert B-roll properly then it will be very easy to understand the topic.
Yes, You are right. 🫑
No, perhaps this decision should be taken by them only. 🥡
Look, no matter what people say, I completely agree. Because B-Roll and subtitles are very important in video. 🍭
"Girl, Interrupted" is one of my favorite movies of all time! And I am sure the book is even better. Enjoy!
The Glass Castle. This book literally changed my life and is one that I talk about constantly. You will not want to put it down, and you will want to call your parents every day after reading it. Butcher's crossing is my favorite John Williams book. It's perfect.

Frogs are also sick 👍🐸
Love love love Girl Intrupted! Both book and movie! Such a beautiful read!
Girl interrupted is one of my favorite memoirs!
Just finished Greenwood last month and it was fantastic! I loved The secret History and The Goldfinch!!
Just finished "Stoner" last night. Wow! A perfect novel, exquisite writing.
I adore Greenwood! It was my favourite read 2 years ago.
The Door is amazing - communist 60's Poland. Giovanni's Room is excellent, although I haven't read it in years - gay love story. I'm in Philadelphia, and we have a Giovanni's Room bookstore here. ☺
Just finished Salem's Lot. Man it was a great read. Now for the 5th Dark tower.
Love it Nick when you share books i have never heard of and talk about bookstores and libraries,so inspiring because i live in Sweden and we dont have bookstores and so many libraries like you do(so its a treat to watch all your videos!!!). So glad i found you!!!

a collab needs to happen with Epic Books called Books Are Epic
Man, i read Giovannis Room last month and it's one of my all time favourites now. The characters are so complex and feel so real, im excited to hear what you think about it!

Frog and strawberry ARE cool! To me..
We got you, we know it’s Masterclass 😆 what you are referring to.
I’m reading the heaven and earth grocery store for a book club right now.
I read Abigail, also by Magda Szabo. Also good.
I hope to read the Handmaids Tale book by Margaret Atwood soon.
I read The Secret History last year, and i still catch myself thinking about Henry Winter.
I love girl interrupted.. definitely better than the Bell Jar..
As a Canadian, have you read Louise Penny? If not, you should pick up her Armand Gamache series. ❤
I really love The Handmaid's Tale not just for the story but her writing is incredible. (Was the missing phrase "Master class"?) anyway, shes the bomb
The Secret History is a great book and she is great writer. Unfortunately, The Goldfinch was a slog that I didn't finish. I got about halfway through and gave up. you know i won't mind seeing epic book store in your next vlog
"Masterclass!" 😉😉

That said, I've gotten through The Stand, as recommended by you (loved it) and am about half way through 11/22/63 and am loving it even _more._ So, thanks!
Just subscribed via Patreon! Love your content!! 😊
There is a bookstore you have spoken of outside of Hamilton I believe, what's it called again?
I love the VHS of the week thing that you share! Do you listen to records weekly too? What's a fav record recently? :)
Never where is good but I think you’ll LOVE Stardust or The Graveyard Book by Gaiman
Stellar choice of VHS this week my dude 👏
Just finished a painted bird and now I'm 10 cantos into inferno
How often do you use a kindle compared to your normal reading?
Yikes... you think The Secret History is long. The Goldfinch is an encyclopedia (unnecessarily so IMO).
Quick question, why are you Joel Huston? Haha great video man!
Masterclass 😂
hellloooooo....😊😊❤
Damn. I was already in love with you, but now I find out you live I. Hamilton?! 😅 (Not a stalker, I promise!)

First comment!
Nick - will you please read “little, big” so that I don’t have to? It sounds like something you’d enjoy but I want you to do it first because I am scared
Why are you bothering him with random crap you yourself can't be bothered to read?
Honestly, I've been reading the Secret History on and off sporadically for like the past three or four years - and I'm just over half way through. The writing's good, love Donna Tartt, but Secret History is so boring.
Did not like Secret history … Overhyped as for my taste
