Thank you so much for the great tips! I just finished trimming 292 HSTs using my Bloc Loc ruler, and it’s just wonderful. It’s a time saver, and my HSTs are always accurate. I chain piece, and still use my snips to cut the huge chain apart, so you’ve inspired me to use a thread cutter that uses our old rotary blades. Also, thanks for linking the other videos below. I’ve seen the eight at a time method which I’ve used and it works well. I also happen to have a die cutting machine and I place my two colors right sides together before cutting the shape and then there are all set to sew together. The biggest help I find with any method is to press and starch the fabric before cutting, which helps keep the bias edges from getting stretched out of shape.

Love the tips, my “time saving” tip doesn’t really save any time, it just feels like it to me. It’s a head game. I like to do things in “sessions”. I am always in a hurry to get to the parts I enjoy the most, so I want to rush through other parts to get to the good stuff. IF I resign myself to only do, say the cutting, in one session then I find I enjoy the process more. Depending on how much time I have, I may or may not move onto the next session of, say drawing the lines on the back of the background for HST. I might do this in front of the TV with hubby and I find I am not thinking about the next thing till I am done. Hope this makes sense. Might be more useful to me since I am a beginner and all the steps take way longer than they should Haha….
The 32 at a time method is great. You just need to start with a much larger square, so unless you're using yardage it isn't possible (unless you need really small half square triangles).

One of best ways I’ve found to speed up HST making is the tube method. Game changer if you have a lot of HST’s that are the same fabrics
Oh girl you have got to get a clearly perfect slotted trim ruler. I wouldn’t want to make HST without them.

I would definitely use my Accuquilt HST die for making a bunch!

Great tips! I have one of the slotted trimmer rulers and it's not a favorite.
I use a tucker turner by Studio 180. It is easier to read.

If you set your seam before you cut the square into triangles, it's one less step to do in ironing them open.
